“In 1985 the EPA toxicologist had already classified Glyphosate as a probable carcinogen,

“So you think of science. Well, today there’s two kinds of science. There’s corporate science
and there is science done in universities and independent science and the two seem to show different
results most of the time, ...I give more weight to the independent studies than to the corporate studies.”

Nice article about Moms Across America.

New battalions of Moms rise up to rescue America from an insidious enemy

After WWII, General Dwight Eisenhower said that our nation couldn't have won the global war without the "contribution of the women of America, whether on the farm or in the factory or in uniform." This Memorial Day, it's appropriate to honor a new generation of American women who are counter attacking a global threat that could cripple our nation.

No creature on Earth is as ferocious as a mother defending her young. And we're seeing, in America, this emerging army of women warriors determined to defeat the multiple food-related plagues damaging their children. Moms Across America and other activist groups are showing thousands of mothers and grandmothers how to win against embedded corporate/government powers with the most effective weapon: Truth. In 1770, future American president John Adams famously said, "Facts are stubborn things." Stubborn too are Moms determined to heal their kids from chronic rashes and digestive pain and allergies which lead to endless rounds of medications, which spiral down into unpredictable emotional behavior and more drugs.

The Moms crusade triggered other efforts to measure glyphosate residue in our foods. Although corporate trolls sometimes sneer at these women as "blogger mommys," Moms Across America has launched effective campaigns. When EPA ignored the Moms' request for a meeting, Zen launched an e-mail to Moms. They clogged the EPA's phones until a top official begged, "call them off." The agency offered an open, face-to face meeting with group members. The Moms website constantly alerts millions of mothers of adverse regulatory moves, like USDA's camouflage of GMO food labels.

RFK, Jr.: “This fact sheet describes the contents of Monsanto’s confidential public relations plan to discredit the World Health Organization’s cancer research unit, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, in order to protect the reputation of Roundup weedkiller.”

Monsanto Relied on These “Partners” to Attack Top Cancer Scientists

This fact sheet describes the contents of Monsanto’s confidential public relations plan to discredit the World Health Organization’s cancer research unit, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in order to protect the reputation of Roundup weedkiller. In March 2015, the international group of experts on the IARC panel judged glyphosate, the key ingredient in Roundup, to be probably carcinogenic to humans.

The Monsanto plan names more than a dozen “industry partner” groups that company executives planned to “inform / inoculate / engage” in their efforts to protect the reputation of Roundup, prevent the “unfounded” cancer claims from becoming popular opinion, and “provide cover for regulatory agencies.” Partners included academics as well as chemical and food industry front groups, trade groups and lobby groups — follow the links below to fact sheets that provide more information about the partner groups.

Together these fact sheets provide a sense of the depth and breadth of the corporate attack on the IARC cancer experts in defense of Monsanto’s top-selling herbicide.

Page 5 of the Monsanto document identifies four tiers of “industry partners” that Monsanto executives planned to engage in its IARC preparedness plan. These groups together have a broad reach and influence in pushing a narrative about cancer risk that protects corporate profits.

Documents later reported by The New York Times reveal that Sachs emailed Miller a week before the IARC glyphosate report to ask if Miller was interested in writing about the “controversial decision.” Miller responded, “I would if I could start with a high-quality draft.” On March 23, Miller posted an article on Forbes that “largely mirrored” the draft provided by Monsanto, according to the Times. Forbes severed its relationship with Miller in the wake of the ghostwriting scandal and deleted his articles from the site.

Engineered Foods, Glyphosate Toxicity and Your Health - April 12, 2018

Dr Vrain is a retired genetic engineer who resides in British Columbia. He had a long career as a soil biologist and genetic scientist, retiring as a research director at the Canadian Department of Agriculture.

Having taken into account the large amount of scientific evidence that shows how synthetic pesticides can be hazardous to human health and the environment, Dr Vrain has decided to sound the warning about the multiple dangers associated with pesticide use in crop production and domestic applications. He refutes the claims of the biotechnology companies that their engineered crops yield more, that they require less pesticide applications, that they have no impact on the environment and, of course, that they are safe to eat.

Weedkiller products more toxic than their active ingredient, tests show

After more than 40 years of widespread use, new scientific tests show formulated weedkillers have higher rates of toxicity to human cells

It is not clear how much Monsanto itself knows about the toxicity of the full formulations it sells. But internal company emails dating back 16 years, which emerged in a court case last year, offer a glimpse into the company’s view. In one 2003 internal company email, a Monsanto scientist stated: “You cannot say that Roundup is not a carcinogen … we have not done the necessary testing on the formulation to make that statement. The testing on the formulations are not anywhere near the level of the active ingredient.” Another internal email, written in 2010, said: “With regards to the carcinogenicity of our formulations we don’t have such testing on them directly.” And an internal Monsanto email from 2002 stated: “Glyphosate is OK but the formulated product … does the damage.”

Seneff: “This is very demoralizing. Let's just mix other toxic chemicals into the glyphosate formulation because two herbicides together are synergistically toxic to the weeds. And, of course, also synergistically toxic to us.”

Ryan says that the results indicate that current one-level-fits-all advice for chemical exposure needs to be ditched.

The organization says meals will be accompanied by nutrition and gardening education. The Conscious Kitchen previously served 156 students at Bayside MLK Jr. Academy, where it first tested the program starting in August 2013. Over the course of two years, the founders said, disciplinary cases decreased and attendance increased.

Moreover, the program will address the controversial issue of GMOs in school food. As environmental news outlet EcoWatch reports:

Seneff: “Canadian activist Tony Mitra has been hard at work in India spreading the word about the toxicity of glyphosate. Nice to see some media fruits from his labor. This India-based article published by the Hindu Business Line dared to mention the idea of glyphosate substituting for glycine by mistake during protein synthesis!”

Glyphosate — the deadly weedicide

He refers to the observations of Stephanie Seneff, Senior Research Scientist at MIT, who has said, “It is destructive of human health and it is threatening the extinction of multiple species. I believe it will eventually be proven that glyphosate gets into proteins by mistake in place of glycine.” This has been linked to the epidemic in auto-immune diseases, “most importantly autism and dementia”.

Says Mitra: “People need to force their Governments at all levels to start testing food for glyphosate and to reject foods that have it.”

Long before Scott Pruitt, EPA colluded with industry by Jonathan Latham

The EPA has long bent to the desires of industry, persecuted whistleblowers, and buried their own research.

Aimed at Oregon forest weeds, these aerial sprayings instead killed her animals and sickened her children. So, Van Strum and her husband embarked on a decades-long investigation to uncover who knew what about Agent Orange, and when they knew it. Their inquiry eventually broadened beyond Agent Orange and they ultimately amassed two and a half tons of eye-opening internal documents from the Agency and other sources. Collectively, the Poison Papers constitute an alarming portrait. Virtually from its inception in 1970, the EPA has proactively overridden scientific evidence and sacrificed public safety for the benefit of the chemical industry.

Our ABC agencies said Glyphosate, GMO foods and vaccines were safe. We have to ask whose science are they counting on. Industries?

Whole Foods Quietly Halts GMO Labeling Requirements

In an email sent by Whole Foods President and Chief Operations Officer A.C. Gallo announced that the company is pausing its GMO Food labeling requirements. The requirements, which were scheduled to take effect on September 1, would have required that suppliers disclose on their packaging whether or not their products contained genetically modified ingredients. The requirements, which were announced five years ago, were three months away from being implemented.

“The internal correspondence noted by Johnson could support a jury finding that Monsanto has long been aware of the risk that its glyphosate-based herbicides are carcinogenic … but has continuously sought to influence the scientific literature to prevent its internal concerns from reaching the public sphere and to bolster its defenses in products liability actions,” Karnow wrote. “Thus there are triable issues of material fact.”

“We look forward to exposing how Monsanto hid the risk of cancer and polluted the science,” said Michael Miller, Johnson’s attorney. “Monsanto does not want the truth about Roundup and cancer to become public.”

Glyphosate Causes Changes to DNA Function Resulting in Chronic Disease, According to Study - 2016

The article cites a number of ways that this affects humans and other organisms. According to the study, the consequences of this action can lead to impaired fatty acid release leading to obesity, impaired insulin receptor response leading to diabetes, impaired one-carbon metabolism leading to neural tube defects and autism, impaired cell cycle control during DNA synthesis, and disregulated phosphorylation cascades leading to cancer, lung disorders, and autoimmune diseases.

Stephen Frantz, Ph.D., a pathobiologist research scientist explains it like this: “When a cell is trying to form proteins, it may grab glyphosate instead of glycine to form a damaged, mis-folded protein. After that it’s medical chaos. Where glyphosate replaces glycine, the cell can no longer conduct business as usual causing unpredicted consequences with many diseases and disorders as a result.”

GMO Golden Rice Offers No Nutritional Benefits Says FDA by Allison Wilson, PhD and Jonathan Latham, PhD

The biotech industry and its supporters have promoted GMO Golden Rice for decades as an urgently needed solution to vitamin A deficiency.

But, in a surprising twist, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has concluded its consultation process on Golden Rice by informing its current developers, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), that Golden Rice does not meet the nutritional requirements to make a health claim.

Golden Rice refers to GMO rice plants modified to produce beta-carotene (also called provitamin A) in their grain. This latest version of Golden Rice contains three added genes. Two specify enzymes in the β-carotene biosynthesis pathway, and are taken from bacteria and maize. The third specifies a (non-antibiotic) selectable marker protein used in the modification process (Paine et al. 2005).

Unstoppable: Transforming Sickness and Struggle into Triumph, Empowerment and a Celebration of Community

Author Zen Honeycutt, Founder of Moms Across America

Seneff: “This book is arguably the best book available today on the topic of toxic foods and their effects on human health. Zen Honeycutt was "just" a young mother trying to bring up her three sons as best she could, in the context of an onslaught of toxic chemicals in their environment causing a long list of health issues for her kids - food allergies, eczema, emergency visits to the hospital, Epi-pens, an autism diagnosis, etc., led her down a path with a quest for understanding why it was so much more difficult for her to raise her kids than it had been in her mother's generation. Once she began to find answers, she knew that she needed to do everything she could to help get the message out to other parents who were struggling in similar ways. She zeroed in on genetically modified foods, and, more specifically, glyphosate, the active ingredient in the pervasive herbicide Roundup, as key factors in her children's health crisis. Switching the family to an organic diet made many of the problems, including the autism diagnosis, magically disappear.

What is truly noble about Zen is her realization that she needed to do much more than just keep her own family healthy. She needed to become an advocate for healthy food and try every way possible to get the message out to a larger audience. She did everything she could to encourage others to get involved and help in disseminating the information about the toxicity of the food to a wider and wider audience. She founded the organization "Moms Across America" to help with advocacy and messaging. She directly confronted the US government and Monsanto corporation, she participated in the Monsanto tribunal in Belgium, and she initiated studies to test for glyphosate contamination in human breast milk, vaccines and California wines, finding it everywhere she looked.

The book is written in highly accessible prose, and it unfolds with a story line of Zen's own journey of personal awakening. It is very entertaining and absorbing, and even gripping at times, the kind of book that you can't put down. Despite the ominous message she delivers, she maintains a sense of optimism throughout, and a belief that the American citizenry can solve the problem through grass roots bottom-up strategies in local communities across the country. Zen is fond of quoting Lily Tomlin who said, "Somebody ought to do something about that. Wait a minute, I am somebody!" Zen is truly an embodiment of that message. We are all "somebody," and Zen's book will inspire anybody who reads it to find a way that their special talents can contribute to helping to solve this enormous crisis that our country currently faces. If we don't all pitch in and do our part, the future of this country is in jeopardy.

Please, buy this book, read it, and pass it on to your friends and family!”

Huber: “Future historians may well look back upon our time and write, not about how many pounds of pesticide we did or did not apply, but about how willing we are to sacrifice our children and jeopardize future generations with this massive experiment we call genetic engineering that is based on flawed science and failed promises just to benefit the bottom line of a commercial enterprise. In her book ‘UNSTOPPABLE,’ Zen Honeycutt has masterfully parlayed the tragedy experienced from our diverted production of healthy food through the corruption of our agricultural system with genetic engineering to show how to rise above its damaging effects. She connects the dots between the modern changes in what we eat, the ubiquitous chemical contamination of our environment, and our well-being. She has initiated an UNSTOPPABLE movement that supports this essential process of restoring health and provides the encouragement and support for each individual to become a vital part of this correction. Her personal reflections and tidbits of encouragement throughout the book show how it can be done at all levels of society from the individual, family, community, nation and world. As a reader you will want to join in to promote health and well-being at all levels.”

Antibiotics in Meat Could Be Damaging Our Guts

The F.D.A. banned the use of antibiotics for growth promotion in animals last year. One organic cattle farmer is sure the ban is being flouted.

Despite the ban, Mr. Lewis is convinced that some ranchers continue to use antibiotics for growth purposes — a claim that is difficult to document. But experts agree that the F.D.A. rules have a “giant loophole” that allows farmers to continue to use antibiotics to prevent diseases even if animals aren’t showing symptoms.

“You don’t even need a sick animal in the herd to use antibiotics in the feed and water as long as the justification is ‘disease prevention’ not ‘growth promotion,’ ” Avinash Kar, a senior attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council, told me.

Veterinarians working for certain feedlots — industrial-style farms where chickens, pigs and cattle are fattened — seem more than happy to continue writing prescriptions for antibiotics that end up in livestock feed. “They’ve got their veterinarians on retainer,” Mike Callicrate, a cattle rancher in Kansas and Colorado, told me. “They tell them what they want, and the veterinarian darn well provides what they want.”

Transcript of Podcast, Myers Detox with Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D.

Glyphosate is everywhere. Round up is still the best seller in our North American industrialized agricultural practices. Canada is the biggest user of glyphosate for drying grain and legume crops and there is no way of washing it out of our food. So once it gets into our bodies, what can we do? In this interview, Dr. Stephanie Seneff gives us more information and great guidance.

Trees: If it does this to trees, just imagine what it may be doing inside of our bodies

Forest Service to cut hundreds of ponderosa pines near Sisters killed by herbicide

The U.S. Forest Service is seeking public comment on a plan to remove the trees, along an approximately 12-mile segment of the highway near Sisters. Forestry officials believe the trees were killed by an unhealthy dose of Perspective, the brand name of a herbicide used in the area for several years.

The herbicide, administered by contractors working for the Oregon Department of Transportation, was intended to kill the broad-leaf weeds and other flammable plants, but also killed more than 1,000 trees — the majority of which are ponderosas — in the surrounding area.

Pesticide Created By Bayer Accidentally Kills Off Twelve-Mile Stretch of Trees in Oregon

Most people know the Bayer corporation because of its medications, including prescription drugs and over-the-counter staples like Bayer aspirin.

But Bayer’s agricultural, GMO and pesticide divisions are not nearly as well known, similar to the sordid history of the company itself, which has roots as a chemical and explosive manufacturing arm of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi war machine. It all started in 1925, when Bayer became part of the IG Farben corporation in Germany, and continued throughout World War II.

Once the war ended, toxic pesticides produced by companies like Bayer and Monsanto were adopted for use in the agricultural sector, and since then have found applications in both neighborhoods and the natural world for plant control and management.
