You know Ranger, it wasn't that long ago that you wanted me. I guess you soon forget, but all men want me, and all women are jealous of me.

Keep saying that to yourself, you're a lonely used up skank, and with no future or friends.

I have always been a morning person but it gets worse as I get older. I have to be to work at 8 AM. I haven't set an alarm clock in years but I am usually up shortly after 4 AM.

First I surf the net. Then this morning I did some streching exercises. Laid on the floor and put legs over my head, etc. I did some pushups. Then I lifted my 17 lb dumbbells.

Then I ran 1.5 miles on my treadmill in 30 minutes.

Next I will eat a breakfast of yogurt, high fiber cereal with raisins on it, and whole wheat toast with honey on it.

Then I will go to work for 9 hours.

I think that is pretty good considering I am 61 years old today!

Put your legs over your head? Better be careful who you do that in front of.

I didnt give up, but i am not being so careful, and I am actually losing weight. Not in large amounts. You should not feel like you are "starving" TRD. That may be why you are not losing. Starving makes your metabolism slow down, hence storing "fat" for future use. Just be sensible, not to strict with yourself.
I am going on vacation next week....oy vay! I think I already hear the scales squeaking with a gain....ouch!

I've been trying to eat more salads for lunch. I find my most difficult time is evenings when I am bored. I want to snack all evening long.

Try to eat small meals or snacks three hours apart. Not saying I am following my own advice...but that is a highly recommended plan. Just be sensible with the snacking.
Dont get down on yourself. At least you are trying, TRD.

Any thing with beans is very filling. I love bean soups at this time of year. I love corn chowder. I'm going to try to make it almost fat free, but it's going to be hard not to put that yummy butter in it.

You ARE losing though. It's a great start. Try 94% fat free popcorn. It's low in points and filling. I snack on popcorn, chopped veggies with a small amount of lite dressing for flavor, bite size tortilla chips are 3 points for 24 chips. 1/2 cup salsa is 0 points and that's a great snack. (with the chips LOL)
Try journaling. "If you bite it, write it!" and see where your most points fall in. I'm like you, I snack at night. Did you say you were doing flex? Try eating all your daily and flex points. It can help to jump start your metabolism.

A Daily Workout Could Add 4 Years to Life, Study Says

By Rob Stein
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, November 15, 2005; Page A01

Sorry, couch potatoes -- the verdict is in: People who exercise regularly really do live longer.

In fact, people who get a good workout almost daily can add nearly four years to their life spans, according to the first study to quantify the impact of physical activity this way.

The researchers looked at records of more than 5,000 middle-aged and elderly Americans and found that those who had moderate to high levels of activity lived 1.3 to 3.7 years longer than those who got little exercise, largely because they put off developing heart disease -- the nation's leading killer. Men and women benefited about equally.

"This shows that physical activity really does make a difference -- not only for how long you live but for how long you live a healthy life," said Oscar H. Franco of the Erasmus M.C. University Medical Center in Rotterdam, who led the study, published yesterday in the Archives of Internal Medicine. "Being more physically active can give you more time."

Previous studies have found that being physically active has a host of health benefits. It reduces the risk of being overweight and of developing many illnesses, improves overall quality of life, and lowers the mortality rate. But the new study is the first to directly calculate the effect on how long people live......
