Franken wins Minnesota Senate seat in recount Mon Jan 5, 2009 3:55pm EST MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - Democrat Al Franken beat Republican incumbent Norm Coleman to win the U.S. Senate seat from Minnesota, officials conducting a final recount said on Monday nearly two months after the November 4 election.
The outcome found Franken beat Coleman by 225 votes out of nearly 2.9 million cast but faced a legal challenge. Coleman's aides said in advance that they would pursue a court action, claiming the recount process left out certain absentee votes and that other ballots were counted twice. Coleman, seeking a second term, held a razor thin lead after the election over Franken, a well known satirist and a former writer and actor for the popular Saturday Night Live television show.
If the recount decision holds up Democrats will control at least 58 of the 100 Senate seats in the new U.S. Congress, with the Illinois seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama still in limbo because of the controversy over corruption charges against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

To meet an actual Patriot. To prove you are not a sniveling coward. To prove for once and all that you are who you say you are. To meet an actual veteran. To restore some sense of manhood to your miserble existence.
In hopes that maybe some of the honor and pride I have would rub off on you
And btw you should bring your wife along, so she can meet a real man.

none of those are reasons that I would want to meet you. you had your chance to prove that all your hot air meant something. all you and your buddies had to do was get together $5,000. if all your bs meant anything; if you actually knew anything you could have made an easy $5,000, but you didn't dare. why would I want to meet someone like you? I don't.

No, you would have lost and you knew you would have lost. You said that you knew, but you didn't and don't and still don't have the guts - just the little boy whine, dare and run away. You have that down pat. why would I want to meet the likes of you? I wouldn't without your paying me.
