This type of activity would be better suited in the Seneca County Forum!

I'm no expert on the whole s***kickin' scene but the only bar I've ever seen in Ontario County that even comes close to a country western atmosphere is Don's on 5 & 20 just outside of Canandaigua.

If there are others, I don't know about them.

Well there used to be Landrey's in Phelps, and they were pretty much as country as they come...(not too sure about the western part)But all they ever played was country music. (And chicken coupes in the back...lol)
I have been to a couple bars in Canandaigua that played country. Jose and Willies did on occasion, and so did Big Al's (I think that was the name). Driscolls in Clifton Springs (although small) plays quite a bit of country. They also do Karaoke, and country is pretty much the only thing people sing. The people in Driscolls definately wont look at you funny if you walk in with a cowboy hat and shiny boots, thats for sure.

About the only place I really know of is in Rochester, The Roost, out on West Henrietta Road at the Day's Inn. They do line dancing and if you get there early enough in the evening, they do lessons.

s...kicken bars??? I guess that depends on a particular persons taste.

As far as solely country western in Penn Yan? No.(I dunno much about other places in Yates)

It's more of a mix of everything...

I dunno about the Liberty, I am afraid to go in there, it has an evenly creepy mix of Mexicans and rednecks (odd combination I thought)... Every time I walk by I either hear country, classic rock, or something of the spanish variety...
