When my teenaged stepson came home at 9:00 p.m., he told me there was a fight on William St. (Geneva) last night, a car fire and that the mother of that boy killed in the summer of 2007 was attacked on the street. Anybody know what happened over there last night? It wasn't late, and the police must have been kept busy.

We saw the ambulance at 7.(And saw other emeergency vehicles after that). I heard that a highschool girl was jumped by about 15 other high school girls because she slept with someones boyfriend. Either way, its very sad.

Hopefully someone on here knows what actually happened. Because I am very curious to find out.

This horific fight happened on my front lawn. It was not kids, it was grown adults beating a one woman. Men and woman were beating her so bad. Grown men were hitting this womans children to get them away from their mother. Children of the parents fighting were just standing there looking on as these people were fighting. My kids were scared, and I have to say that it took the police about 15 minutes to respond. They were still beating this woman when police got here. They arrested about 4 people, and at one point they were yelling that this woman was dead. These are grown adults fighting with their kids looking on. What has this community come to?

Thank God you have an active police force, not like where I l have lived. Watch out for the liberals in G-town they will want to get rid of the police and fire or maybe they will do a study to get rid of them, or add to the tax for the Geneva Free Library(not so free)

Yeah I stayed clear of Geneva and went to Hall and Gorham, its was an awesome time. Very friendly, the fire departments had cider and popcorn. It was a fun time! My kids made out like bandits and had a fun and safe experience.

Has anyone ever read The Lottery? For some reason how you described it reminded of that story.

This is disgusting and I hope ALL the scum bags go to prison and lose custody of any their children who were watching.

no one will go to prison, those kids will learn one thing...that it is okay to fight in public in front of anyone for any thing at all. There is no acceptance of responsibility. This is a shame. If anything, they are probably sitting around today talking about the good punches they got in and how the woman deserved what she got. It's a sad world we live in.

Thats a shame, has anyone found out more information about who it was and how she's doing today? What about the other fight and the car catching fire that someone mentioned earlier?

GPD are worthless, 15 minutes to get someone to William st. Come on. A lot of damage can happen in 15 minutes.

Then they manage to loose a police car. Where do they get these guys from?

There were so many people fighting that one cop couldn't do anything! It really makes no sense why people need to do this....let alone in front of children. This is only showing them that this is okay! These grown adults should be ashamed of what went down last night and especially in front of children. I really hope the lady is okay and that whoever it was gets caught and in trouble for this crime.

The F.L. Times quotes the GPD saying this was a MINOR event?

now that I know the names, geez, I feel bad. This is one of those soap opera stories and when you hear it you just shake your head and say, whoa, way to much drama.

Geneva fight, fire both minor incidents

By JIM MILLER/Finger Lakes Times
Sunday, November 2, 2008 12:25 AM CDT

GENEVA —The officers who broke up a fight at William and Hoffman streets Friday night also had to cope with a small fire in the engine compartment of an unmarked patrol car.

A fuel leak started the fire, which caused only minor damage, said Sgt. Thomas Biesenbach.

Police received a report of 10 to 15 people fighting about 7:45 p.m., but found only three involved when they arrived.

“The crowd actually was bigger with all the trick-or-treaters and onlookers,” Biesenbach said.

Police charged Thairy J. Rivera, 24, of 500 Pulteney St., Apt. 41, with third-degree assault. She is accused of attacking Carmella Bizardi, 37, of Geneva, who was treated at Geneva General Hospital and later released.

Sandybel Rivera, 22, of 500 Pulteney St.; and Ernesto J. Delgado, 26, also of 500 Pulteney St., Apt. 41, were each charged with disorderly conduct.

Biesenbach said police don’t know what sparked the disturbance, but that those involved had had prior issues with each other.

“They met each other walking down the street,” he said. “Probably an unplanned thing.”
