I've almost completed my bathroom remodel and I'm looking for a toilet. We are thinking about installing a one piece, low volume, 1.6 gallon unit. Anyone have one of these? Manufaturer recommendations? I've read that Kohler makes a quality toilet.

I would recommend, the highboy with the elongated bowl. I don't know if they make them in one piece. A couple of grab rails would be nice. Ovie you are definitely showing your age.

Are you sure 2 1/8" is big enough?

I think I've got all my bases covered. Heavy duty hand rail w/ extra long screws for the big guys like Buddy and a stand closer sign for guys of Rangers stature.

Oh, I just remembered, a friend of mine, wife had to have this low silloette one piece toilet. It never flushed properly because the tank was too low. He became known as the double flusher and plunger guy.

All I know, it cost over 400 bucks in the early 80's and he put in a standard with elongated bowl. With in a couple of years. Now he is back to a single flush and no plunger. They do look nice, but its a place to poop in.

Power Assisted - Power LiteTM
The only toilets with horsepower, KOHLERŽ Power Lite toilets deliver the industry's most powerful residential flush. These toilets feature a .2-HP pump to provide outstanding flushing action. Additionally, an exclusive Twin TouchTM actuator allows users to select either a 1.0-gallon or 1.4-gallon flush, depending on their individual needs. This dual-flush option can save an average household approximately 2,000 gallons of water each year.

I only got 12" floor joists, 12"oc. They would never take the weight. She prolly goes in your bath tub, and you use a snow shovel to get it out. JMO
