I am going to be brave and try a whole chicken in the crock pot. I put some of the marinade under the skin and just rubbed the rest on top of it. I used rosemary, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil. And I also put fresh rosemary, thyme, and lemon inside the bird. We'll see how it comes out. I put it in at 3:30, it is on high for now, and then I will turn it down around 5:00. I'm making one today for my grandparents to eat tomorrow, and then I'm going to try another for us tomorrow night. Hopefully it turns out good.

I bought two yesterday at Urban Sun around 3:00 pm. They must have put more out?

Also, the one I made yesterday didn't brown? WIll it brown in the crockpot or should I just throw it in the oven for 15 minutes?

Nothing usually browns in the crock pot but I don't eat the skin anyway.

To me the skin is the best part if oven roasted, turkey too. But I`m not dieting so I can eat it. All browned up with butter, salt, pepper, rosemary and poultry seasoning mmmm that`s flavor country lol. \:\)

I ended up putting my chicken, very carefully, in the oven and broiled it for a few minutes. Skin came out brown and crunchy! I have to say this is hands down, the best chicken I have ever had.

Dieting or not it's really not good for you.

The crock pot is a fantastic tool. It's not used nearly enough!

Well, it's just me here now so mine doesn't really get much of a work out...

I probably need something somewhat smaller than 6 quart!

I could...or I could just send you the 6 quart crock pot and buy myself a 2 or 3 quart version.
