I spotted this on a search and thought it sounded good but not a "dump and go" recipe. I wonder if the pasta would overcook?
Anyone do anything similar?

I'm trying this today. I think I will probably leave the pasta very al dente I hate mushy pasta!

Nope, been gone most of the day today. I'm trying out Reilley's chicken recipe.

Soup will be later in the week. ;\)

I think pulled pork is best over 10 or more hours...start on high for about 2 hours then turn to low for the next 8. (And if there is enough liquid I'd let it go longer.

I've never done pp, but it seems you could make more liquid. How about water and or wine?

Pulled pork is big down south, or at least in NC. I had it for the first time just a couple years ago. Much different taste than our traditional, New York pig roasts.

Either of those is great but I have to tell you my mom made some recently that used ROOT BEER as the liquid! Now, I don't like rootbeer at all but this was absolutely incredible. The pork was tender and soooooooooooooooo flavorful.

I wonder how beer would be?

The bf asked and asked for a recipe his Mom used to make. It was pork chops in a slower cooker with "a spaghetti sauce". I googled and found some, but decided to wing it.
Here is my experimental recipe:

5 good size regular cut chops

1 can stewed tomatoes

1 can tomato sauce

about a quarter cup each chopped bell pepper and white onion, sauteed in Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Italian seasoning and garlic (to your tatse, I add a few dashes to the sauteed veggies and also to the sauce

salt and pepper to taste

put on crock pot on high for two hours and then for another 4 (check chops for to make sure cooked fully).

Serve with mashed potatoes on side and a veggie.

I was weary of how this would taste, but it actually was very good.

*For a thicker sauce add in a can of tomato paste with a couple pinches of sugar.

I've done it with beer. I cook the roast in a liquid for about 8 hours and then drain shred it add the sauce and cook on low for another hour.

Pork cooked with beer is always great! Seriously. I always use beer in my stew, too. Used to use red wine (well sometimes I still do) but the beer is a great mix, especially if I also make beer-batter bread to go with \:\)
