Mayor-Beckley
At Large-O'Malley, Capraro
1-Augustine
2-D'Amico
3-Valentino
4-Cosentino
5-Hagerman
6-Greco

Not necessarily the way I'd like the Council to look, but I think it might play out this way, with at least a couple of them being toss-ups. I think it'd be a very interesting mix! It would certainly put Phil's managerial prowess to the test.

Anybody else?

My predictions:

Nothing will be done at the lakefront. No marina. No development.

Police department will not be brought to full staff.

Council will still jerk around with the old gas station at further taxpayer expense.

For profit Lyceum Heights will not pay anywhere close to what they should in PILOT.

Council will make the new Rite Aid store developers jump thru flaming hoops to develop here.

The blog will continue telling one sided temper tantrum stories and the self righteousness.

One councilor will still not pay his property taxes.

Beckley for mayor
At large: Bob Meyer & Ron Alcock

Was very happy to see Bob get the Times endorsement on Sunday. Ron has lived and worked in this town and as a business owner for so many years he knows what this city needs to make it a worthwhile financially strong entity.

Good luck guys!

I think Cass for Mayor, and the Chip will be out but Ron in. The rest I agree with.

I just don't see how either Don or Stu can beat Phil given that they'll likely split the Democratic votes.

That being said, I just returned from voting, and I was the 270th person thus far (at about 3 PM). According to the folks working the polls, that indicates a very high turnout.

Getting interesting....

i think your first mistake is thinking stu will spilt the democratic votes. I dont think he will get too many more than he did at the primary. Don has always done well with republican voters and then he has the independent. All he need is basically 1/3 democrats and republicans and then the independents and he wins. I hope Don wins this election there is not a better man with a heart more in touch with Geneva than him.

I sure wish this had been an honest contest between Phil and Stu. Then we really would have seen some action. As it is right now, you will (no matter what they try to say) have two who split half of the votes and one who is running with out having to drag a lead weight over the finish line. Sorry Stu, you deserved a fairer contest.

If it was an honest contest the Dem's wouldve backed their incumbants in the first place. Shows you what is really going on in the party. For Gods sake why would they not back Greco? And then not have somebody run against him? There are only like 68 registered Republicans in that ward he was a shoe in even if he had been running against somebody.

So how is it possible that you can be on council and not pay your taxes. Is this a joke?

As of the notice in the newspaper on tax sales the councilor was listed. His home and taxes on some other property he owned.
