"What has clinton done for NY?"

Give me a week; I might be able to think of something.

"Oboba ran for the senate and won just two years ago"

3 yrs., 4 months ago. Plus, he served 8 yrs as State senator, so he's had some political experience. He's served more time in national elected office than Bush II, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Eisenhower, FDR, Hoover, Coolidge, Taft, or TR had prior to assuming the Presidency.

His name's Obama. You did manage to get the other two names right.

" I'm glad l didn't waste my 24 years in the service helping to give you people the right to find fault with everyone GET REAL"

Actually, we had that right before you were even born.

Would the average NY'er who failed to pay $1 Billion of unpaid NY taxes be free or locked up in jail?

grinch, we are not suppose to be a democracy. It is actually a Republic. Here is a lesson for you.

Thanks for the lesson.

What post did you read of mine that prompted this response? I had two responses on the topic concerning Spitzer. I purposedly limited responses as I do not like the title of the thread as the poster(s) may have to prove Spitzer is a coward, a liar and a fraud and that flat statement concerned me.I did post two responses, one was an article from a newspaper, the other a comment concerning money and politics. I did not see anything where I posted a statement concerning democracy verses a republic nor anything concerning Gov Spitzers character.

OK, I posted an EDITORIAL written by someone else, not me. Those were comments of a third party. I happen to agree with the person who wrote the editorial, not with the speaker on utube.

Perhaps you would like to contact the newspaper that published that editorial and have them explain their use of the term democracy verses republic.

Here is that url:
http://www.uticaod.com/

This is a common error, and I am as guilty as the author of that editorial I posted for I often refer to the USA as a democracy. Thanks for pointing that out.

NO Problem Grinch. Thought I would point it out. seems like most people don't know the difference. The fact is it's not the peoples fault. The education system is failing to teach it. Everyone calls it a democracy because we have drifted into it more or less.

Just got word Spitzer is calling for raising tax on gas under his new budget. I hope he is a one term deal.

Not to defend Hillary Clinton, but wouldn't that be the Clinton Campaign fund that pays for that, or did you mean her salary? If you meant her salary, wouldn't the same rule apply to Obama and to McCain sinced they are also senators? And wouldn't all of this have applied to George W. Bush when he ran for re-election in 2004, since we paid his salary? Should he also have resigned, since he couldn't give his full attention to being the POTUS?

Incidently, they pay their salaries too.

I was reading elsewhere on the internet a comment someone had posted. It was in regards to hillary's reaction. She had stated she couldn't make a decision about the matter until she had more information. Now, what happens when the phone rings at 3 in the morning? Will she have to hold off making a decision? I'm pretty sure I know the real reasons why hillary can't make a decison.
#1 She can't risk losing idiot's endorsement.
#2 She stood right by her man when he lied and then confessed his inappropriate behavior.Granted she did so to advance her political career. However, how would it look if she spoke out against what spitzer did? She would look like a hypocrite herself. What does this a say about her and her abilities to lead our country. old hilary just can't make up her mind on anything.

Your head seems to be quite full of itself, but perhaps there's enough room in there for a little bit of actual knowledge. Let's see.

republic:

1 a (1): a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president (2): a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government b (1): a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law (2): a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government c: a usually specified republican government of a political unit <the French Fourth Republic>

Democracy:

1 a: government by the people; especially : rule of the majority b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections

Notice the word "indirectly"?

We are:

A democracy

An indirect democracy

A republic

A democratic republic

The terms are not mutually exclusive.

Before you start trying to slap people down, you should at least learn something about what you're pretending to be an expert on.

"Also, I just love how we, taxpayers have been paying her to trek all over the country in her quest to be the next POTUSA. I think she should have resigned from the US Senate job, as she is of no use to us. "

By that logic, it's obvious that you think that John Adams sould have had to resign his position of Vice President, when he ran for President in '96, because the campaign certainly distracted him from his duties as VP.
