great job, groucho. I was off the Chantix, didn't smoke for two months after stopping it, and wondered what it would be like to try one, thinking I would hate it...well, I didn't hate it...I enjoyed it, didn't make me dizzy or sick...dangit! Soooo, I started smoking again, only 5 cigs a day, but still smoking. So, I've made my mind up to start the Chantix again the week I am on vacation in Dec...I did that the first time, started it the week of vacation so that when vacation was over, I had stopped. From this experience I leared that I will never really hate smoking, like many people do who quit, so I have to just not buy them and not touch them. This time I WILL do it. I had never ever had the success I had with Chantix...never went a day without smoking, so two months for me was awesome. If I didn't give in, I would still be an ex-smoker. Sooo, moral of the story...don't give in and buy them. You're doing great!

Thank you both for the words of encouragement. At .5mg a day, I don't know how much "edge" is taken off, but it feels like I'm running pretty much on willpower lately. At higher doseages, I get very irritable. Not all the time, but my mood can change in an instant and for no reason. I'm slightly less than halfway thru my 2nd months prescription (I've got refills coming to me, too) & think I might have to try a full pill every other day & see if it helps with the urge.

Believe me...I know...I've lost inches over the past 2 1/2 months but not one single pound!!! I mean what kind of sense does that make?

That could mean your gaining muscle mass.

Muscle is heavier than phat.

So you can loose inches, but gain or not see weight loss

It makes perfecrt sense to what BH said , your losing the fatty tissue and being more active and increasing muscle mass. Body builders can go into the gym and lose 2-3 lbs a workout, I've lost 2" on my waist line, dropped 12 lbs of fat and then gained 11lbs (muscle) over the last year! My weight fluctuates weekly 4-7 lbs depending on how hard I workout.
Keep up the good work! Everybody! Great job with the quitting!

I get the principle...and to a point I totally agree BUT the only problem with this is that eventually the weight has to go down, too (as long as the inches are). I mean...do you know many 200 lb-ers who wear a size 2??? You see what I mean...if you lose enough inches, the weight should be down, too, muscle or no!

Oh my gosh, Spence...as you should be...and as I am too...happy with all I've accomplished so far...I'm just in a hurry now that I'm near the end of my journey and my goal. Not so much more to lose but I want it gone LAST WEEK! LOL...isn't that the way it always is?
