Yesterday was the first time in years that I have drove through the refuge. It was amazing. I saw close to 10 blue herons. One was at the edge of the water next to the road. When I get home later this afternoon, I will post a few pictures I took.

There is a refuge on rt 5 here in Buffalo, not as large as Montezuma, but filled with wildlife.

As I drove through Seneca Falls, I was wondering which houses had people posting on FL1.

I forgot to take my binoculars, but fortunately, the zoom on my camera is pretty good.

I love the turtle one on the floating log...looks like he hitched a ride. OMG I never seen so many turtles in one spot. In fact I hardly ever see one anymore. Why?

TRD, are there that many turtles there all the time? All in one spot is like that is totally unbelievable. I will have to go see them now. Your pics are just awesome.

I'm not sure if there are always that many turtles, chatty. This was the first ride I have taken through the marsh in several years. I was surprised at the amount of wildlife as it was a very windy day.

Well, thanks for the headsup. I know where hubby will take me for our drive this weekend. I'll try out my digital too, but I am lousy with it.

It was a great day, even with the scattered rain and the gusts of wind. Even the visitor center was open.
