Note to users that are getting this error message when trying to post: The host you are trying to send the input from is not a valid host. The new software rides on larger cookies that are not being allowed through your firewall/Adblocking software. To post on the forums disable your firewall when posting for the moment. I am currently looking for the tech sheet on how to do this while firewall is up.

For those that have Norton Internet Security, open your Internet Security, got to Options, Internet Security, Web Content, Global Settings and be sure the Information about web site feature is set to Permit.

If that does not work, try permitting other options on that tab if they are not. All mine where set to permit except the one noted above.

If you STILL cannot find it....Look for a tab that says GLOBAL SETTINGS...it will be under there.

Dr. D - question, if you have a router does that act as a firewall? I have a linksys router and have disabled my norton internet security firewall, am I vulnerable?

Did anybody get Lord High Lucifer (or whatever) out of the twilight xone yet. His message says something about an invalid server.
You go talk to him in the pm, Eomer.

No the internal NAT firewall will protect you from most intrusions with the linksys router. That is unless you have shut it off while in the router. Check your PM Luci

Ok here are my step by step instructions on how to post a reply while having your firewall up. This applies to NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2004 and I believe 2003, if you have older then that shame on you. First Close all Browser windows Internet explorer, Netscape, ETC.
Then open Norton Internet Security either through the little world next to your clock or through start, all programs, Norton Internet Security, Norton Norton Internet Security / Then click on Privacy Control/ Click on the Advanced Tab/ At the botton of that new window click Add Site/ clear out the www. out of the text box that appears and type forums.fingerlakes1.com then click OK/ You are now going to scroll through the list of websites and find forums.fingerlakes1.com click it and look to the right collum and take the check out of the box in the Information about visited sites then click permit/ Click OK and close the NIS Window.
Relaunch your web browser and go to the test forums, try replying to the test post I set up, If you can great you followed the directions, If not follow what I said again. Any questions feel free to email me or PM me.

Can you list the instructions for Zone Alarm, Doc?? I have to keep turning mine off to post, which kinda defeats the purpose of a firewall. Thanks!
