my hubby likes peanut butter and bacon sandwhiches

In the British Isles they have something called the Chip Buttie, which is a sandwich made of fresh, hot french fries, butter and a bit of catsup between toast. Yummy huh?

They're real good. Someone else mentioned pb and bacon, which is good with mayo, or how about a blt with mayo and pb, on toasted whole wheat? So good!

i have a friend and his sister that eat beef gravy on there cottage cheese, looks like something that someone just brought back up

and what's with the people (usually old folks over 60) that eat cheddar cheese on there apple pie or crisp?, haven't yet figured that one but it seems it's an old person thing

Cheese and applie pie isn't uncommon. I don't love it. But yes, it does seem to be an older person thing.

Yep, my father used to eat apple pie with cheddar cheese on it.

Cheese cake with hot pepper jelly on top - yummy! Especially the cranberry - walnut........might have to make one today

I did a google search for "apple pie with chessar cheese" and got a ton of recipes for the cheese baked in to the crust. But, Dad used to have his with a slab of cheese on top of his , sometimes melted and sometimes not.

I am wondering if this "fad" started in the depression era when ice cream might have been fairly rare to have and cheese plentiful?

When I have ice cream I have to have potato chips with it...something with the salt I guess.
