I prefer my friends' taste in fine red wines. Since they all claim to be experts. Usually it's great. But when they start telling me I need to accessorize the wine with special foods to accentuate the flavors I start to giggle.

Yes I can appreciate their obsessiveness.

But they're still under control of the wine god. And that ain't saying much.

More like a sophisticated "I'm a pansy" denotation.

Country Concord is good but a little sweet. Susie Q from Tickle hill is excellent. Its not a red but its one of my favorites. You can actually taste the skin of the grape. Strawberry Splendor from Goose watch is good after dinner in place of desert. "Piece of my heart" from Rasta Ranch is an awesome dark red.

I've never been a wine snob. I drink what I like. Some of these expensive wines are so dry they are bitter. I've never understood how people pay that much to drink something so so so ------yuk!

I tried this white wine from "Montezuma" - in a blue bottle - delicious; drank the whole thing at the whale watch!. I love Widmer's Lake Niagara - I love that "grapy taste"; I would love to know of a sweeter red wine to try - I always buy white - it just seems "safer". I don't like dry wines because it's just gross.

I can tell you Merlot made me gag at a wedding a few years back. I stick to the white wines also ever since then.

I drink reds mainly-Blueberry Breeze from Peach Orchard Farms-very very sweet, like drinking a blueberry pie, downed an entire bottle the minute I got to the State Fair!, Svenska Red from Swedish Hill(?-I think)this was the second bottle I downed at the Fair!, but the one and only white wine I will drink is Diamond from Torrey Ridge.

Gee, Buddy, we both like wine, huh? Hmmmmmmm, could be interesting............. You'll have to join me on a wine tour sometime..........

Shut up, Hola!!! I just know she's gonna chime in any minute now!!!

No, merlot is served at room temp - that's how it's SUPPOSED to taste

I understand not everyone likes dry reds but these Lake Niagra, Arbor Mist, fruit wine suggestions are making me crazy!

The health benefits of wine are generally referring to dry reds.

I'm not a big drinker so I prefer the sweet stuff; Arbor Mist is like a big bottle of soda with a buzz to it! yummm

The health benefits of wine are mostly in red wine. But wouldn't sweet red wine give you the same health benefits as dry red wine?

Not sure - I didn't think so but it's possible. I simply prefer dry wine. Mostly I was just joking around.
