I have a light on my garage, and one on the outside of my house. I want to hook them together so when I turn the switch on in either the garage or the house they both come on. I know I need a 3 way switch in both the garage and in the house. I am not sure how to hook them together though. Any advice?

Have your wife hold the bare wires to determine where the juice is flowing and when it is on....then connect them up to the switches.....

You would need to run 3 Wires plus a ground. On the 3 way switches you will have a common terminal
(usually dark colored) and 2 travler terminals. The black from the power source would connect to one switch common and the black wire on the other end would go from the load(light) to the common on the other 3way switch. The white and red wires would connect to the other terminals on each end.
