I was a little nervous about Johnson starting after he got creamed by The SkyChiefs last week.....

He dives to the left, traps the ball, tosses it to Sturtze ~~ The Call, out at first ! Welcome back, Tino !

They had it all going for them last night, offense, defense, pitching. 1 - 0 !

Jeter is so freakin clutch....Hard to fool someone when they see you pitch 18 times a year, for Boston, Mo needs to figure something different to throw than cutter cutter cutter

For the first time in his career, Rivera didn't pick up a ball during the entire off season for whatever reason.

Then, he goes to spring training and develops bursitis in his elbow, cutting his preseason short.

Now, to start the regular season, he's not consistently hitting his spots. Could he just be rusty ?

It was incredible to hear 'Yankee Fan' booing him yesterday ~ bush league!

Very Bush leaguge, saw an intersting stat on espn news...rivera blew saves on back to back days for the first time EVER....interesting. Giambi gets hit 3 times, Jeter 2 times, i think its time randy and comapny started protecting our own.

Yeah, a little up and in on Yankee Nemesis Ortiz might help rattle that comfort zone he's always in when playing against da Bombers !

No one has answered the question. Is it time to start thinking of replacing Rivera??

NO !! Even if 'The Sand Man' falls one rung, which it's far too early in the season to determine, he'd still be better than anyone who is out there that one would consider a better replacement.

Rivera will be fine. In fact, he will still be clutch. It's early. Less than a week in. He will have 40 saves this year. Don't worry.

And Tino had a nice home coming. Matsui has proven to be better than the HR hitter that was advertised. Several people saying the most complete player in baseball? On a team with ARod and Jeter? That's a compliment!

Nice comeback win yesterday !

I watched Rivera closely. When he forced his pitch, his wrist would flinch causing him to miss his spot. When he pitched like the Mariano we have learned to appreciate, his motion was free flowing/free pitch . Gotta get rid of that flinch !

P.S. I notice he's not the only closer who is off to a slow start !

They need to find a very good set up man for Rivera...just like Rivera once was when John Wetland (sp) was the dominant closer. Not trying to write Rivera off, but he sure hasnt been the same since the series with the Diamondbacks....He just doesnt give off that aura of dominance that he once did prior to that series. JMO

They have about 4 good set up men.....no one will ever be as good as riveracause he is and was the best of all time to do what he did or does.

It seems, besides Hideki & Jeter, everyone's back in the rut of swinging for the homerun ball.

I'm not so sure about the pitching staff.
