White House pool reporter calls out Trump to his face: ‘If you’re transparent, why block the House Democrats?’President Donald Trump was challenged by White House pool reporters on Monday after he claimed to have the most transparent administration in history.
“You talked about transparency, if you’re transparent, why block the House Democrats?” one pool reporter asked, likely referring to attempts to schedule interviews with former administration officials and to obtain the president’s tax returns.
“Because they’re asking for things that they’re not entitled to. I could ask them, I assume if they ask me, I could ask them for the same kind of thing,” Trump said, alluding to the effort to obtain his tax returns. “They wouldn’t want to do it. All they’re trying to do is win an election in 2020.”
“So we’re doing really well, and all the Democrats want to do is find any way they can to stop it,” the president said. “They’re putting their own personal goals ahead of the country. You can’t do that. And we have a wonderful Attorney General. He’s done a very good job and I’m sure it will all work out.”

Donald Trump’s Rudy-Ukraine scandal just got even uglier for himDonald Trump and Rudy Giuliani thought they were creating trouble for current 2020 frontrunner Joe Biden when they conspired with a rogue prosecutor in Ukraine to manufacture a phony Biden scandal. But most of the media and the public saw right through it, and the whole thing turned ugly enough that Rudy had to cancel his trip to Ukraine. Now it’s gotten uglier for Trump and Rudy.
The new president of Ukraine had already reportedly said he would refuse to meet with Rudy Giuliani, even before Giuliani canceled his trip. But now another politician in Ukraine says he’s obtained a letter which proves that the whole thing really was manufactured by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko in an effort at gaining favor with Donald Trump, according to Bloomberg. While it’s far from clear how this scandal will play out for Ukraine, what is clear is that it’s going precisely nowhere for Team Trump.
In fact, now that this whole thing has blown up in Donald Trump’s face, it could end up growing legs as a Trump scandal. Rudy Giuliani, a Trump attorney and informal Trump 2020 campaign adviser, has been caught red handed conspiring with a foreign government to try to dishonestly alter the outcome of the 2020 election. This is so uniquely treasonous, no one has thought to even write specific laws against it. But it blows Trump’s “no collusion” mantra to bits, and it opens the door for House Democrats to subpoena Giuliani to publicly testify about his traitorous antics.
Meanwhile, it’s more clear than ever that Donald Trump and his campaign team are petrified of Joe Biden’s rising popularity. The 2020 election is still a long way away, and there are a number of strong Democratic candidates who still have a shot at the nomination. But Trump is already panicking, because he’s heading into 2020 in the weakest position that any presidential incumbent has ever been in.

George Conway blasts Trump’s ‘all-time record’ for government spending in latest Twitter attack: ‘Another national disgrace’Prominent Republican attorney George Conway blasted President Donald Trump on Monday for setting an “all-time record” for government spending.
Conway, who is married to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, retweeted a message from the far-right group Freedom Works.
“The federal government spent $2,573,708,000,000 in the first seven months of fiscal 2019 (October-April), setting an all-time record for real federal spending in the first seven months of a fiscal year,” Freedom Works noted, adding the hashtag #DebtCrisis.
Conway had a simple response to the news.
“Yet another national disgrace,” Conway wrote.
