LOL, I thought that my sarcasm was apparent but guess not. My premise is that you can keep the tax rate at it's current status but when your property assessment goes from say $100,000 to $120,000 @ 17.00 dollars per thousand, do the math. Bottom line the city is tearing down parcels, thus being eliminated from the tax base while maintaining the same tax exemption for others, someone will be liable. That someone is guess who? When no buildings are replacing the ones torn down.
