How much savings will the city residents realize once the increase in sewer and water rates are instituted, not to mention the proposed property reassessment.

Savings? You mean how much will the increase be? Just because they're not increasing the rate doesn't mean your taxes will be reduced, just that your new (higher) assessments times the unchanged rate is sufficient to meet the demands of the new budget. But it's not too late to start looking at your assessment vs. comparable properties to see if you are over-assessed.

I'm actually glad there are increases in the water & sewer since the tax exempt properties have to pay those. Hopefully the City is allocating as many costs as possible to the Water & Sewer budgets

LOL, I thought that my sarcasm was apparent but guess not. My premise is that you can keep the tax rate at it's current status but when your property assessment goes from say $100,000 to $120,000 @ 17.00 dollars per thousand, do the math. Bottom line the city is tearing down parcels, thus being eliminated from the tax base while maintaining the same tax exemption for others, someone will be liable. That someone is guess who? When no buildings are replacing the ones torn down.

Oh, the sarcasm was apparent, I just wanted to make sure the math was apparent to all. See complaint from Bluezone about the % increase in the Geneva Public Library rate.

Visit any non-profits that will allow you entry and use the bathroom.

How many times would you need to flush the toilet to get your taxes down to a reasonable dollar amount?

Considering how full of it you are, it should work out.

It's entirely possible that your goal is to paint entire page in Bluezone postings, thus dominating the chat. If not, could you direct us to specific portions of these meetings to illuminate whatever points you're trying to make? If I have to watch 90 minutes of the meeting to see on relevant portion, it's not likely. Nor is admonishing me to watch every city council meeting as part of my civic duty.

Interesting that no one looks at school board meetings when the budget is 4X larger.

Apparently you think that I have something to do with a zoom meeting? What in tarnation are you talking about?

Complaining about a conversation we had 16 months ago signifies someone with anger issues and a lack of maturity.
