‘Panicky’ Trump has been told by lawyers he can’t block Mueller testimony: ‘Resistance is futile’Tom Boggioni TOM BOGGIONI 06 MAY 2019 AT 10:43 ET According to an email sent to the Washington Post by a former White House attorney, Donald Trump has probably been informed that he has no chance of stopping special counsel Robert Mueller from testifying before a House committee about his two-year effort investigating the president.
On Sunday, Trump tweeted a demand that Mueller not appear in Congress to discuss his 400-page report.
Trump wrote, “After spending more than $35,000,000 over a two year period, interviewing 500 people, using 18 Trump Hating Angry Democrats & 49 FBI Agents – all culminating in a more than 400-page Report showing NO COLLUSION – why would the Democrats in Congress now need Robert Mueller to testify. Are they looking for a redo because they hated seeing the strong NO COLLUSION conclusion? There was no crime, except on the other side (incredibly not covered in the Report), and NO OBSTRUCTION. Bob Mueller should not testify. No redos for the Dems!”
In a column for the Post, Greg Sargent claimed he got clarification on where Trump stands from Robert Bauer, the White House counsel under Barack Obama, who said Trump obviously has been advised that he has no legal options available to him.
“I would assume his lawyers will be, or are, telling him (1) that he cannot put his attorney general, whom he would not want to lose, in the impossible position of having committed that Mueller would testify, only to be overruled by Trump and 2) resistance is futile, because eventually Mueller will testify,” Bauer wrote.
Sargent added, “If so, Trump’s tweets urging Mueller not to testify appear more feckless and panicky than anything else.”
He then added, “Mueller may well publicly speak to the ways his report detailed how the Trump campaign ‘expected it would benefit electorally’ from that Russian help, and the campaign’s efforts to — yup — collude with it. If Mueller is asked why he declined to exonerate Trump on obstruction, he might somehow let it be known that he did, in fact, establish extensive evidence of criminality.”

‘Bumbling stupid’ Pompeo ripped by Morning Joe for his ‘beneath contempt’ defense of Trump’s Russia dealingsMSNBC’s Joe Scarborough shamed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for ignoring his own warnings about Russia to cover for President Donald Trump’s relationship with Vladimir Putin.
Pompeo insisted Sunday that Trump had been tougher on Russia than any previous president, although Trump himself admitted he did not confront Putin over election interference during their phone call last week, and the “Morning Joe” host said the secretary of state had made a fool himself.
“He is beneath contempt,” Scarborough said. “He should be ashamed of himself. He’s doing a disservice to the United States of America. He saw what happened in Helsinki, he heard what happened on that telephone call. When he was in the CIA, he had to go testify, and testify that there was Russian interference and it posed a risk to the United States of America.”
“That bumbling, stupid act that be he did on Fox News, insulting Chris Wallace and the viewers — it’s just disgraceful,” he added. “Mike Pompeo is unworthy to hold any public office for the rest of his life.”

Sen. Mitch McConnell's net worth:
2005: $2,962,015 2015: $26,927,535 Increase: $23,965,520 (+809.1%)
How does a senator earning $193,400 a year increase their net worth by nearly $2.4 million a year, every year for a decade?
