Happy to see this move forward as long as not a single taxpayer dollar is used, including accepting any "partnership" that potentially makes us liable for damages, injuries, etc. It's a horrible location for a museum.

It's sad that this looks more like a preservation effort searching for a use of the building. If there were a viable use the building would have been fixed long ago. Buildings are not just some artifact you fix and preserve. There needs to be some use for it otherwise you just spent money on a place the really contributes nothing or worse -- continues to cost money to just keep it from falling apart.

The NYS Parks Dept took ownership from Cornell and still did little to nothing to preserve it for decades.

Maybe folks might want to focus on purchasing the gas station and mini-mart just west of Parrot Hall, along with the mini-storage and insurance offices. Why? Kanadasaga. How about reconstructing that site instead of a dilapidated building and I bet tourists would be more interested in a reconstructed fortified native village destroyed by General Sullivan than some lab with no real world changing discoveries.

I'm betting the grant applications for that would be easier than a building owned by NYS for years. Just a suggestion.

And the visitors to Kanandasaga wouldn't be competing for parking with the NYSAES employees.
