Samsel’s comment from the comment section of the article below...

Anthony Samsel

“While technically the EPA is correct in stating that Glylphosate doesn't cause cancer, they ignore and hide the fact that the five nitrosamines of glyphosate found in their products are carcinogenic. The EPA has prevented access to documents disclosing the nitrosamines by FOIA stating "release of the information would be likely to cause the Company competative harm." (personnal communication) However, that does not negate the fact that nitrosamines are contained in every glyphosate product and created in vivo in the intestinal tract. These are the caracinogens that cause many, many cancers including rare cancers. The nitrosamines of Glyphosate that Monsanto and the EPA are hiding from the cancer conversation include: N-nitrosoglyphosate, N-nitrosoiminodiacetic acid, N-nitrososarcosine, N-nitrosodiethanolamine. Contrary to Monsanto's claims of safety, Glyphosate also inhibits human enzymes and conjugates with bile acids interfering with bilogical pathways of humans and other animals leading to diseases. Glyphosate bioaccumulates in all human tissues without exception and can be found even in semen, milk, eggs and your fingernails.”

EPA Says Glyphosate Does Not Cause Cancer, Contradicting IARC

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released on Monday a human health and ecological draft risk assessment for glyphosate, concluding that the widely used—and highly controversial—pesticide is “not likely to be carcinogenic to humans."

"This trove marks a turning point in Monsanto's corporate life," Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., an attorney involved with the class action suit, told journalist Carey Gillam, who is also the research director for U.S. Right to Know. "They show Monsanto executives colluding with corrupted EPA officials to manipulate and bury scientific data to kill studies when preliminary data threatened Monsanto's commercial ambitions, bribing scientists and ghostwriting their publications, and purchasing peer review to conceal information about Roundup's carcinogenicity, its toxicity, its rapid absorption by the human body, and its horrendous risks to public health and the environment."

In a press release, the Center for Biological Diversity also called the EPA review "flawed."

"The only way the EPA could conclude that glyphosate poses no significant risks to human health was to analyze industry studies and ignore its own guidelines when estimating cancer risk," said Nathan Donley, a senior scientist at the Center for Biological Diversity. "The EPA's biased assessment falls short of the most basic standards of independent research and fails to give Americans an accurate picture of the risks posed by glyphosate use."

The Center for Biological Diversity also pointed out that the EPA's assessment showed that glyphosate posed a risk to plants and wildlife exposed to the chemical, including the imperiled monarch butterfly.

Per the release:

Migratory monarch populations have declined by 80 percent in the past two decades, and their decline has been driven in large part by the surge in glyphosate use resulting from the widespread planting of corn and soybeans crops genetically engineered to tolerate glyphosate. Glyphosate is a potent killer of milkweed. The dramatic surge in the glyphosate use has virtually wiped out milkweed plants in the Midwest's corn and soybean fields.

The EPA has opened a 60-day public comment period for the draft risk assessments.

Genetically engineered soybeans: EFSA withholding crucial documents - Testbiotech is concerned about risk assessment being ‘doctored’

“There are indications that the genetically engineered soybeans used in feeding studies with rats were sprayed with much less glyphosate than usually applied in agricultural practice. We are concerned that this may be an intentional concealment of the actual risks to health from consumption of these soybeans,” says Christoph Then for Testbiotech.

According to the EU Commission, the health risks associated with genetically engineered soybeans can be assessed separately and independently of any herbicides they are resistant to. Testbiotech has rejected this approach on the grounds that it is inadequate and misleading. Testbiotech has further demanded to stop EU approval for these plants.

“The risks associated with the genetically engineered soybeans cannot be assessed in isolation from the herbicides to which they have been made resistant. In accordance with the guidelines for EU risk assessment, the plants have to be sprayed with the herbicides they are resistant to. But if the herbicides are not tested on the plants in realistic conditions, the risk assessment is flawed,” Christoph Then states.

If the plants are sprayed with less herbicide in the field trials than would be usual in normal farming practice, this will not only influence the amount of herbicide residues from spraying. It can also influence changes in plant composition, which is dependent on the dosage of herbicides sprayed onto the plants. These changes can cause health risks by, for instance, increasing the effects of allergens or phytoestrogens. These risks were neither assessed under pesticide regulation, nor under GMO regulation.

Timbo,

The thread is about genetically modified foods and glyphosate.
(when I come across info on antibiotic resistance, I will post it. Seneff has mentioned it in many of her talks/interviews.) Thank you for asking.

Vaccines and antibiotics are included because glyphosate has been found in vaccines and glyphosate is also a patented antibiotic. When you eat glyphosate daily, you are getting a daily dose of an antibiotic which can lead to antibiotic resistance.

Somewhere in this thread I posted the link to the United States Patent Office that shows glyphosate's patent as an antibiotic. If you'd like to look for it and repost the link, that would be nice. If I recall correctly, there are several patents for glyphosate.

Because weeds become resistant to glyphosate, farmers and wineries have to use more of it to kill the weeds.

Really good interview from 2013 - Smith interviewing Seneff on Glyphosate

Autism, Alzheimer’s, Tryptophan/Serotonin (Aggression, school shootings), Parkinson’s, Monsanto’s Roundup, additional ingredients that help get the Glyphosate into the plants cells and human cells, their short term studies, Seralini’s studies, MS/Leaky Gut (myelin sheath), Bowel Inflammation (IBS)/Anorexia, Heart Disease and Diabetes (cholesterol sulphate), Obesity

At 28:00:

“One thing that I find very fascinating is that serotonin, low serotonin is very definitely correlated with violent behavior and I think Glyphosate may be a contributor to all the epidemic we have in school shootings...people have such low serotonin that they become irrationally violent...”

It was "supposed" to be harmless to humans and animals—the perfect weed killer. Now a groundbreaking article just published in the journal Entropy points to Monsanto's Roundup herbicide, and more specifically its active ingredient glyphosate, as devastating—possibly "the most important factor in the development of multiple chronic diseases and conditions that have become prevalent in Westernized societies.”

That's right. The herbicide sprayed on most of the world's genetically engineered crops—and which gets soaked into the food portion—is now linked to "autism ... gastrointestinal issues such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic diarrhea, colitis and Crohn's disease, obesity, cardiovascular disease, depression, cancer, cachexia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and ALS, among others."

Enjoy this videotaped guided tour of Jeffrey Smith interviewing co-author Stephanie Seneff, PhD, a Senior Research Scientist at MIT.

Remember, dandelions are the bee’s first food. Let them grow.

Seneff: “Finally people are starting to notice the collapse of the insects. I am one of those who are old enough to remember the messy windshields, and I have been alarmed for a long time at the absence of bugs in the local environment where I live. I suspect glyphosate is a major player in this collapse.”

People Finally Noticing Insect Collapse

Actually, we do. Not only do insects form the base of the food chain for larger, cuter wildlife, they also pollinate plants that feed us, help digest waste matter and turn it back into soil, and perform numerous other ecosystem services. Plunging populations of insect predators mean that isolated outbreaks of destructive insects will be harder to control. An insect collapse is also the canary in our coal mine – an indicator that sooner or later, we’re in for trouble of our own. Further, and this may be the hardest to accept, not everything in nature is about us.

So what can we do about this? One action people can take on their own is to create more insect habitat in their own backyards. The National Wildlife Federation developed a program to help people support insects and wildlife by planting more nectar-bearing flowers, creating shelter, and providing water.

Major journal sounds alarm over global mass poisoning

Almost every human being is now contaminated in a worldwide flood of industrial chemicals and pollutants – most of which have never been tested for safety – a leading scientific journal has warned.

Regulation and legal protection for today’s citizens from chemical poisons can no longer assure our health and safety, according to a hard-hitting report in the journal PLOS Biology, titled “Challenges in Environmental Health: Closing the Gap between Evidence and Regulations”.

The report describes a chemical oversight system corrupted from its outset in the 1970s when 60,000 chemicals were registered for use in the US, mostly without being safety tested. Many of these chemicals were subsequently adopted as ‘safe’ around the world.

Over the years, public health protection has stagnated – despite mounting scientific evidence that many chemicals are damaging whole classes of organisms, say report editors Liza Gross and Linda Birnbaum.

“We still have safety data on just a fraction of the 85,000-plus chemicals now approved for use in commerce. We know from field, wildlife, and epidemiology studies that exposures to environmental chemicals are ubiquitous,” the researchers say. (European estimates put the number of proposed new chemicals worldwide at over 145,000.)

“Hazardous chemicals enter the environment from the factories where they're made and added to a dizzying array of consumer products - including mattresses, computers, cookware, and plastic baby cups to name a few – and from landfills overflowing with our cast-offs,” Gross and Birnbaum say.

“They drift into homes from nearby agricultural fields and taint our drinking water and food. Today, hundreds of industrial chemicals contaminate the blood and urine of nearly every person tested, in the US and beyond.

“Evidence has emerged that chemicals in widespread use can cause cancer and other chronic diseases, damage reproductive systems, and harm developing brains at low levels of exposure once believed to be harmless. Such exposures pose unique risks to children at critical windows of development - risks that existing regulations fail to consider.”

The report underlines a recent finding by The Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health which concluded nine million deaths (or 16% of the total) every year worldwide are due to diseases caused by the human chemical environment – 15 times the number killed in wars.

The PLOS report explores eight dimensions of the emerging chemical crisis. Key points include:

“Countless chemicals were entered into commercial use without toxicological information. Few chemicals of the many identified as potential public health threats were regulated or banned,” Sheldon Krimsky of Tufts University states in a strong critique of policy failures.

Contrary to what some chemists claim, many substances become more poisonous at low doses than at high ones. For some toxins there is no safe dose level and “we will need to achieve near-zero exposures to protect public health,” says Bruce Lanphear of Canada’s Simon Fraser University.

Children face the highest risks from chemical poisons, while scientists are still working are working to determine the full range of chemicals we carry in our bodies and their effects on our health, say Joseph Braun and Kimberley Grey.
Several articles document the failure of government to keep hazardous chemicals from polluting our food, air, and drinking water. Maricel Maffini and colleagues describe the failure of regulators to account for health risks associated with the thousands of chemicals introduced into the food system by the US Congress and other governments since 1958.

The PLOS report concludes there is a need for more research and a much tougher approach to regulation – but these will not be enough. Citizens themselves will have to force governments to take stronger action to protect human health, it finds.

National ban on glyphosate in Austria within reach

The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), the two parties that are about to form the new government of Austria, have announced that they want a national ban on glyphosate.

The future Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, has said that he wants to phase out glyphosate at a national level. Kurz says Austria now "has to clarify the legal requirements, and wants to orient itself to France and Italy", whose leaders have also both said they want to ban it.

Playing God: Are we prepared to use gene drive technology?

For Patrick Tranel, a weed scientist at the University of Illinois, the technical reality of gene drive is forcing policy makers to answer a profound question: is it ethical to extinguish a species, even a pest that spreads disease?

“There are very few organisms in the world that we have enough understanding that we would want to (drive it) to extinction,” he said.

“I don’t want to play God, at that level, to decide that this species has absolutely no value to Earth.”

There’s also the secondary impact of that extinction. What would the loss of an insect species mean to bats and birds that feed on that insect?

How does the loss of that insect, or a reduced population, affect the entire ecosystem?

GM genes are still getting into native Mexican maize

GM genes are still getting into native Mexican maize varieties, a new study has found. This is in spite of the fact that the cultivation of GM maize is banned in Mexico, which is the genetic centre of origin for the crop. The study also identifies the crucial factors that decide whether or not GMO contamination occurs: the social organization and seed management systems of local communities.

Hold the plum pudding: US food sampling shows troubling pesticide residues - Known toxics are ending up on our plates

Sometimes the truth about our food is not very appetizing.

As many gather this holiday season for shared family meals, it is likely that they'll be serving up small doses of pesticides with each plate passed, including a prevalent type shown to be harmful to children and reproductive health.

New data released recently by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shows a rise in the occurrence of pesticide residues detected in thousands of samples of commonly consumed foods. Documents obtained from the agency through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests also show the government is bracing for more, with the use of at least one controversial weed killing chemical – the herbicide known as 2,4-D - expected to triple in the next year.

And buried deep within the FDA's latest annual pesticide residue report is data showing that a controversial insecticide called chlorpyrifos, which is marketed by Dow Chemical and is banned from household use due to known dangers, was the fourth-most prevalent pesticide found in foods out of 207 pesticides detected.

The Environmental Protection Agency sets legal limits, referred to as "maximum residue limits" (MRLs) for pesticide residues on foods. The FDA and USDA routinely assure consumers that if residues are below the established MRLs, they are both legal and safe. But many scientists and medical professionals disagree, saying regulatory methods are outdated and too dependent on input from the chemical industry players selling the pesticides.

Herbicides linked to antibiotic resistance

New Zealand researchers have found that the active ingredients in commonly-used weed killers like Round-up and Kamba can cause bacteria to become less susceptible to antibiotics. The study builds upon research published in 2015 that found three common herbicides caused E.coli and Salmonella to become less sensitive to antibiotics. The new research investigated which ingredients were responsible and found it was the active ingredients, not the extra additives, to blame. The researchers suggest regulators should consider these impacts when considering whether such products are safe to use.

Updated Ag Health Study of Glyphosate and Cancer by Jennifer Sass, Senior Scientist

In any event, epidemiological evidence was never the centerpiece of IARC’s decision regarding glyphosate. Because IARC determined that the epidemiologic evidence was “limited” and largely uninformative, IARC’s conclusion that glyphosate “probably” causes cancer (Group 2A) was based on “sufficient evidence” in experimental animals, and supported by evidence that glyphosate triggered known mechanisms for cancer in laboratory studies and exposed people (see IARC Monograph, p. 78). In fact, the evidence from experimental animals is even stronger now, thanks to recent revelations of additional tumors analyzed by Dr. Christopher Portier and presented publicly in his recent testimony to the European Parliament.

IARC’s assessments are rigorous, lengthy, and systematic. They involve not only looking at the conclusions of a study, but also the study design, methods, and statistical analysis. Each study is reviewed by multiple experts in the appropriate scientific discipline, including epidemiologists, toxicologists, geneticists, and statisticians. Almost 100 scientists from 25 countries have written to support the IARC evaluation of glyphosate. Importantly, those scientists, like IARC, are funded by the public purse—they work for the public interest. They are our scientists, and IARC is our public health institute.

IARC is doing its job of adhering to scientific excellence and public health protection. People who care about protecting public health and the environment should watch out for well-funded attempts by Monsanto to undermine IARC and its findings, and treat with caution reports of new studies that allegedly discredit its findings or purport to render them irrelevant. Chances are those claims are based on a misunderstanding or misrepresentation of the science.

Some scientists who had contributed to the Monographs Volume 112 Working Group informed IARC they had been approached by interested parties (including lawyers representing Monsanto; see footnote for further details) and asked to release private emails as well as draft scientific documents related to their work on the Monographs. In light of the interests at stake, including ongoing lawsuits in the USA against Monsanto, the scientists felt uncomfortable releasing these materials, and some felt that they were being intimidated. Knowing that the relevant Monograph had already been published and that the Monographs Preamble indicates the need for experts to be free of pressure of all kinds to perform their work in an impartial way, they asked IARC for advice as to whether they should release preliminary and deliberative drafts and related communications.

Violating the Sacred: GMO Chestnuts for the Holidays?

Is our meddling risking further damage to already fragile ecosystems that have since compensated for the loss of the American chestnut tree?

...Young American chestnuts remain scattered throughout the forests of the east, though few make it to maturity. These are the ones that researchers from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY/ESF) will be cross pollinating (contaminating) with their genetically engineered (GE) version.

Deregulation of the GE American Chestnut

William Powell, lead American chestnut scientist at SUNY/ESF recently announced his team is almost ready to apply for Federal deregulation to allow them to distribute their GE trees, free of charge, in hopes they will be planted in great numbers. Some of these GE trees, modified with a wheat gene, will be planted near surviving disease resistant non-GMO American chestnut trees. The goal is for the GE tree to cross pollinate with the others and create the next generations of disease-resistant offspring.

Powell and his team hope that the government agencies charged with reviewing their research results will modify the process to make it much easier to obtain permission to release novel GMOs like their GE chestnut. And with government agencies now managed by anti-regulation leadership coming directly from industry boardrooms and research facilities, chances are good that requirements for scientific review or public input will greatly diminish- at our peril.

Effect of canola oil consumption on memory, synapse and neuropathology in the triple transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease - December 2017

Abstract: In recent years consumption of canola oil has increased due to lower cost compared with olive oil and the perception that it shares its health benefits. However, no data are available on the effect of canola oil intake on Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathogenesis. Herein, we investigated the effect of chronic daily consumption of canola oil on the phenotype of a mouse model of AD that develops both plaques and tangles (3xTg). To this end mice received either regular chow or a chow diet supplemented with canola oil for 6 months. At this time point we found that chronic exposure to the canola-rich diet resulted in a significant increase in body weight and impairments in their working memory together with decrease levels of post-synaptic density protein-95, a marker of synaptic integrity, and an increase in the ratio of insoluble Aβ 42/40. No significant changes were observed in tau phosphorylation and neuroinflammation. Taken together, our findings do not support a beneficial effect of chronic canola oil consumption on two important aspects of AD pathophysiology which includes memory impairments as well as synaptic integrity. While more studies are needed, our data do not justify the current trend aimed at replacing olive oil with canola oil.

From Moms Across America - This is a preview and test results from a farmer testing carrots. More to come.

“Recent testing of carrots for nutrients shared with us by a supporter showed disturbingly low levels of minerals in the produce. "I would be embarrassed to call this food." - said Dr. Don Huber. "The nutrients are almost nonexistent." One sample was organic and one was conventional.

Although the organic sample was 49% higher in nutrition, the levels were still very low. You will notice the zinc is almost nonexistent ( glyphosate chelates zinc) and zinc is essential for healthy sperm ( our sterility rates in the US are climbing).

The fact is that our food in America, due to GMO chemical farming, is depleted of minerals and vitamins.”

A new study from the Seralini team…

“...remember your health protector is in your gut, add roundup and it will kill the organisms that protect us…”

Roundup Causes Major Changes in Gut Microbiome of Rats

An environmentally relevant concentration of Roundup caused changes in the gut microbiome of rats, according to a new study published by the group of Prof Gilles-Eric Séralini at the University of Caen, France.

The health implications of this experiment for humans are unknown. However, this new study has produced the first in vivo evidence that Roundup can bring about alterations in the gut microbiome, including at an environmentally relevant dose, either directly or indirectly. These are interesting and very important observations and should be repeated using larger groups of animals. This should include a comparison of glyphosate alone and Roundup at equivalent concentrations, to ascertain which component of this herbicide formulation (active ingredient, adjuvants, or a combination of the two) is responsible for the changes in the gut microbiome. Furthermore, a strong link between Roundup exposure and liver damage has already been demonstrated and should be further investigated.

The manuscript will undergo copyediting, typesetting, and review of the resulting proof before it is published in its final form…

Abstract

A growing body of research suggests that dysbiosis of the gut microbiota induced by environmental pollutants, such as pesticides, could have a role in the development of metabolic disorders. We have examined the long-term effects of 3 doses of the Roundup(R) herbicide (made of glyphosate and formulants) on the gut microbiota in male and female Sprague-Dawley rats. A total of 141 bacteria families were identified by a 16S sequencing analysis approach. An OPLS-DA analysis revealed an increased Bacteroidetes family S24-7 and a decreased Lactobacillaceae in 8 out of the 9 females treated with 3 different doses of R (n = 3, for each dose). These effects were confirmed by repetitive sequence-based PCR fingerprinting showing a clustering of treated females. A culture-based method showed that R had a direct effect on rat gut microbiota. Cultivable species showed different sensitivities to R, including the presence of a high tolerant or resistant strain identified as Escherichia coli by 16S rRNA sequencing. The high tolerance of this E. Coli strain was explained by the absence of the EPSPS gene (coding glyphosate target enzyme) as shown by DNA amplification. Overall, these gut microbiome disturbances showed a substantial overlap with those associated with liver dysfunction in other studies. In conclusion, we revealed that an environmental concentration of R (0.1 ppb) and other two concentrations (400 ppm and 5,000 ppm) have a sex-dependent impact on rat gut microbiome composition and thus warrants further investigation.

...

Human populations are exposed to an increasing number of different types of xenobiotics through their diets and lifestyles. Being directly in contact with the ingested food, the gut microbiome is sensitive to the nutritional quality of the diet [7] and its content in biologically active compounds acting as prebiotics to favour the development of beneficial intestinal microbes [8]. Some other studies have shown that the presence of food contaminants such as emulsifiers [9], heavy metals [10], mycotoxins [11,12], polysaccharides [13] or even pesticide residues [14] can alter the composition of the gut Microbiome.

Seneff: "Prof. Seralini has a new study out that shows that glyphosate-based herbicides contain several different toxic metals, including
arsenic. An earlier Sri Lankan study linked a kidney failure epidemic among agricultural workers in Sri Lanka to synergistic toxicity of
arsenic and glyphosate."

Shocking Study Shows Glyphosate Herbicides Contain Toxic Levels of Arsenic

A shocking new study published in Toxicology Reports has shown that the current regulatory assessments of the world’s most used herbicides are
wrong, with ingredients such as arsenic being regularly found in Glyphosate based herbicides and other pesticides at toxic levels.

The comparative effects of glyphosate alone and 14 of its formulations were studied by Seralini’s team. Glyphosate was clearly shown to
not be the major toxic compound in the herbicide formulations – Petroleum-based compounds in the herbicide formulations were more toxic than glyphosate.

Prof. Séralini stated Sunday: “These results show that the declarations of glyphosate as the active principle for toxicity are scientifically wrong,
and that the toxicity assessment is also erroneous: glyphosate is tested alone for long-term health effects at the regulatory level but the formulants –
which are composed of toxic petroleum residues and arsenic – are not tested over the long term. We call for the immediate, transparent and public
release of the formulations and above all of any health tests conducted on them. The acceptable levels of glyphosate residues in foods should be
divided immediately by a factor of at least 1,000 because of these hidden poisons. Glyphosate-based herbicides should be banned.”

In memoriam: Dr Shiv Chopra, public servant

Dr. Shiv Chopra was a veterinary scientist with a Ph.D. in microbiology. He was a senior scientist at Health Canada (Canada’s food safety
regulator) where he worked from 1969 until 2004. Dr. Chopra was one of three Health Canada veterinary scientists who spoke out in the 1990s about
pressure to approve animal drugs despite their concerns about animal health and food safety. They questioned carbadox, a drug used in pigs, and
Baytril, which was used to promote growth in cows and chickens. Most prominent were their concerns over Monsanto’s genetically engineered veterinary
drug Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH). Their public criticisms of BGH were met with gag orders from their employers at Health Canada but finally led to
Senate hearings and a 1999 decision not to approve the drug.
Dr. Chopra defied instructions from his employers not to speak publicly about his
concerns, and about the pressure he was under at Health Canada. In 1998, Dr. Chopra and his colleague Dr. Margaret Haydon were interviewed on national
television and asked why they thought they were under pressure to approve drugs quickly. Dr. Chopra replied, “Well, what do you think? Money. For
multinational companies that produce those things.”

EU Commission uses Christmas period to grant authorisation for imports of GM soybeans

“The timing and the circumstances of the decision show just how much the EU Commission fears a response from the public. In fact, the way in which
this has been handled has the potential to damage the credibility of the EU institutions,” Christoph Then says for Testbiotech. “Our response will
be to put these authorisations even more to the forefront of our activities to make this public. The EU Commission must give much higher precedence to
the protection of health and the environment.” According to a Testbiotech analysis, there are clear indications that the developer companies
Dow and Bayer manipulated the data for risk assessment of their genetically engineered soybeans. The claim is based on analysis of the data presented
by the companies for risk assessment in the EU. Analysis showed that Dow used a special sample of the genetically engineered soybeans in their
feeding studies with rats, which was sprayed with much lower amount of herbicides than usual. In their field trials, Bayer only applied a
fraction of the amounts of the herbicides that would normally be used in agricultural practice.

Dicamba is wreaking havoc on US crops – Is Monsanto profiting off the problem?

In early November, Environmental Protection Agency officials warned in a meeting with herbicide-makers that they could lose dicamba approval if
their products continued to damage crops. And Bradley says growers might spray less dicamba in 2018 to avoid trouble with their neighbors. But
on the flip side, more farmers may buy the double-resistant seeds, to protect themselves from dicamba. Indeed, [farmer] Bentlage says, one
seed dealer recently hit him with this pitch: “You might as well buy some dicamba seeds. You know your neighbor’s gonna spray it — you might as well
buy it, too, to keep from getting damaged.” In other words: Nice little soybean crop you have there; be a shame if something bad happened to it.

Seneff: “I am now virtually certain that glyphosate is the main cause of the autism epidemic. Eating organic food and loading up on sulfur-containing

Seneff: “Excellent new article on glyphosate's adverse effects on the soil.”

Glyphosate and GM crops are harming no-till soils

Referring to claims that glyphosate is typically neutralized and degraded by soil microbes after a period of time, Dobberstein notes that in
the last 5 years, evidence seems to be mounting through research studies that the herbicide is lingering in the soil environment longer than
anticipated and initiating a host of non-target effects.

Kremer told attendees at the National No-Tillage Conference earlier this year, “This is all supported by research. I’m not just making this
up. With that amount of glyphosate out there, it’s beginning to raise some eyebrows and people are wondering what else might be happening with
this amount of chemical in the environment.”

Carol Garnier Dutra (I’ve posted all this info previously. Here’s a reminder from C.G.D.)

"...Yes all three, vaccines, prescription drugs and GMO foods, are related to each other via BIG Pharmaceutical companies.”
There is something each and every one of us can do to stop 'vaccine fraud'
that will also stop the onward march of both unproven prescription drugs and toxic GMO foods into our marketplace. Yes all three,
vaccines, prescription drugs and GMO foods, are related to each other via BIG Pharmaceutical companies. The solution is to ban direct drug
advertising to the consumer. Ban just the direct to consumer drug adverts on TV, on the Internet and in the printed media. This ban should
take place at both the state and the federal levels.

It is our 'news outlets' that are indirectly responsible for both 'vaccine fraud' and toxic GMO food in our marketplace. It is our news media's
greed for advertising money from BIG Pharma that causes the media to withhold information that would be considered as negative by 'parent' BIG
Pharma and their subsidiary companies which are BIG chemical.

When I first learned about the toxicity of GMO food, I learned from stories posted by activists, concerned individuals posting on the Internet.
This knowledge prompted me to do my own investigation into this subject. Both local and nationwide media did not inform me that our food supply
had been altered to include toxic BT GMO foods.

Remember that BIG Pharma controls BIG chemical through the 'wholly owned subsidiary' rule of company ownership that is practiced today
between the pharmaceutical companies and the chemical companies they control. BIG chemical makes you ill then their 'parent' BIG Pharma offers
you the cure.

The ONLY WAY to eliminate advertising money from BIG Pharma is a complete ban of drug advertisements that are aimed directly to the consumer.
We are the consumers. We are part of this equation. Are you sick and tired of those drug ads that appear with our nightly news programs? I am.
Contact your state and federal legislators and ask them to sponsor legislation that will ban drug advertising that is aimed directly to
the consumer. Those paid ads are pay-offs to our news media to keep them quiet about what is really going on to people in regards to
toxic vaccines, toxic drug prescriptions, and toxic GMO foods in our marketplace.

..." Over the last 11 months, pharmaceutical companies have spent a staggering $3.2 billion on TV ads. In that time, Big Pharma has easily outspent
all other industry advertisers combined. Big Pharma is without advertising peer. It is easily “the news’” biggest customer. Its money buys what
editors call “friendly” or “complementary copy.” Several billion dollars also buys a lot of silence on drug and vaccine safety issues. That
silence it buys, the missing information, the stories squelched, may be the most damaging aspect of all. "...

https://dmlawfirm.com/how-big-pharma-buries-vaccine-problems/

Here is an example of censorship practiced in favor of BIG Pharma, by FOX News.

Roger Ailes was the CEO of FOX News when he said the following statement to the
lawyer, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in regards to talking on FOX News about vaccine fraud: (I’ve posted the video of this _y RFK, Jr.)

..." He [Ailes] said to me, ‘I can’t allow you on any of them. I’d have to fire any of my hosts that allowed you on my station.’ Because he said,
‘My news division gets up to 70% of advertising revenues during non-election years from the pharmaceutical companies’.” "...

https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2017/12/15/big-pharmas-control-over-the-news/

Just say no to drug ads on TV

All this advertising costs big bucks and adds significantly to the cost of prescription drugs, which is one of the reasons that a few in Congress
have proposed eliminating the tax deduction that pharmaceuticals can claim for these TV ads. But they’ve been met with a powerful lobby as well as
waving of the flag of free speech by drug firms.

“Trace Amounts” Free to watch until January 23rd. (Starts at 10:20)

Trace Amounts is the true story of the mercury poisoning of Eric Gladen - and his painful journey.

“The more I researched, the more I couldn’t believe my eyes, and the more I knew there was no way I could just sit back and not do anything about this.

I quit my career, moved into an RV, hired a production crew, and hit the road for years attending Autism conferences, filming Autism rallies,
performing experiments with Scientists, interviewing everyone and anyone who would talk to us, and so much more.

When the tour was over, I spent the next two years sifting through almost 300 hours of video footage, thousands of leaked documents, closed
door meeting transcripts, and countless scientific studies.

It then took me another 3 years working with my post-production team to piece everything together into what has become the feature documentary
film Trace Amounts.”

'Big Organic' Egg Producers Poised to Feather their Nests if USDA Scuttles Animal Welfare Rule

In fact, most retail grocery chains that sell "organic" eggs under their own label (think Aldi’s Simply Nature, Whole Foods 365 Organic, Trader Joe’s, Kroger Simple Truth, Costco, Walmart, etc.) get their eggs from huge factory farm-type operations that routinely violate USDA National Organic Program (NOP) rules.

The USDA reopened a 30-day comment period. Consumers and others have until January 17 to tell the USDA to enact the OLPP. You can comment here.

Shocking Study Shows Glyphosate Herbicides Contain Toxic Levels of Arsenic

A shocking new study published in Toxicology Reports has shown that the current regulatory assessments of the world’s most used herbicides are wrong, with ingredients such as arsenic being regularly found in Glyphosate based herbicides and other pesticides at toxic levels.

"Before I became an advocate for transparency in food labelling, and before I decided to try to avoid gmo's in my own life, to whatever extent possible, I actually was earning my bachelors degree to become a genetic engineer. I studied biotechnology and molecular biology at...and it was there that I gained an appreciation for the magnitude of risks that we're taking with genetic engineering, not only do they hold great promise for our future, but also significant risk and I realized that with as little as we know about how all these pieces fit together, these products are being commercialized far too quickly and when I dug into it and I saw the lack of transparency, the lack of independent safety testing, and how the federal government allows companies like Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow, companies that brought us DDT and Agent Orange and PCB's and said nothing to worry about there, they're letting these same companies be in charge of ensuring the safety of these biotech foods and that just didn't sit right for me."

Donald Trump Officially Comes Out in Favor of GMOs, Confirms Organic Movement’s Worst Fears

“We are streamlining regulations that have blocked cutting-edge biotechnology, setting free our farmers to innovate, thrive, and to grow,” Trump said according to MIT Technology Review in Nashville at a meeting of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

“Oh, are you happy you voted for me. You are so lucky that I gave you that privilege,” he continued according to the article.

Antibiotics Are STILL in Your Milk! - 2016

Thanks to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), milk supplies in the United States have been tested for decades for the presence of certain antibiotics. Milk found to contain unacceptable levels of the selected six drugs is discarded. However, consumers are still being exposed to antibiotics in conventionally produced milk, and the FDA knows about it.

It appears some dairy farmers are slipping their cows antibiotics that are not on the government’s testing list, nor on the list of acceptable drugs to give to lactating cows. The presence of these antibiotics was revealed in a recently released FDA report entitled “Milk Drug Residue Sampling Survey.” This means that unless you choose organic milk and milk products, you could be exposing yourself and your family to these drugs.

Dr. Don Huber: What We Know So Far About Glyphosate and GMOs (At 5:00)

Dr. Don Huber, Professor Emeritus, Plant Pathology, Purdue University, is one of the leading experts in the world on Glyphosate and GMOs and how they effect the environment and human health. I spoke with Dr. Huber this week, and he shared some of the latest information regarding Glyphosate and GMOs and their ill effects on the immune system and the environment. He explained how glyphosate bioaccumulates in the brain, bone marrow and other organs and how this chronic toxin reeks havoc on human health. Dr. Huber explained why genetic engineering is a “fossil science” that may have consequences that we may not know about for years. Most people do not understand what a gmo farmer has to agree to...

What does a technology agreement for seed mean to you?

A technology use agreement — or TUG — is entered into by any farmer who plants a GMO commodity. These agreements, also simply known as "technology agreements," contain the terms under which a farmer may plant the seed of the company selling the seed.

But the agreement also contains the limitations for which the grown seed — the crop produced by the seed — may be used and how and where the crop may be sold. And the agreement also contains several other conditions that most farmers wouldn't agree to if they were on a level playing field with the seed company.

You see, it all started several years ago with the lawyers…

What's Making Our Children Sick?

Hosted by Susan Downs, MD, March 2, 2018

Guest Information, Michelle Perro, MD, Vincanne Adams, PhD

Episode Description

What’s Making Our Children Sick? is a radical rethinking of the relationships between our children’s food, medicine, and health in the twenty-first century. Michelle Perro, MD, a veteran pediatrician with over 35 years experience successfully treating children, and Vincanne Adams, PhD, from the University of California, provide a clinical and scientifically sound explanation of the pediatric health crisis the agrochemical industry has helped to create, and present a food-focused, go-to resource for parents, practitioners, and health educators to follow. This book explores the links between GM foods, pesticides like glyphosate, and the emerging science around our gut health and offers a path forward to help heal our kids and reverse the compromised health of our food supply. Also discussed are other toxins such as EMF, aspartane, and the need for a medical model that looks for underling causes of medical conditions.

Ignoring adjuvant toxicity falsifies the safety profile of commercial pesticides by Robin Mesnage and Michael N. Antoniou

The added ingredients (adjuvants) in pesticide formulations currently escape close regulatory scrutiny and are often claimed to be "inert". However, studies have revealed that these supposedly “inert” diluents can be more toxic than the regulated active pesticide ingredient.

A new peer-reviewed article describes how the unregulated chemicals present in commercial formulations of pesticides could provide a missing link between negative health effects and pesticide exposure.

Cholesterol Sulfate’s Critical Role in Optimal Health and How Glyphosate Disrupts It

While the synthetic production of sulfate helps protect the body from the negative consequences of sun exposure, the application of popular sunscreen lotions to the skin can have a reverse effect. Many sunscreen products contain aluminum nanoparticles that interfere with how eNOS functions by displacing the iron in the heme group. Dr. Seneff speculates that a person’s risk of skin cancer increases when the body is exposed to both glyphosate (from food sources) and aluminum (from sunscreen).

https://www.organicsulfur4health.com/201...te-disrupts-it/

Sulfur Deficiency: A Possible Contributing Factor in Obesity, Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s and Chronic Fatigue

IN CONCLUSION: Modern lifestyle practices conspire to induce major deficiencies in cholesterol sulfate and vitamin D3 sulfate. We are encouraged to actively avoid sun exposure and to minimize dietary intake of cholesterol-containing foods. We are encouraged to consume a high-carbohydrate, lowfat diet which, as I have argued previously,34 leads to impaired cholesterol uptake in cells. Fortunately, correcting these deficiencies at the individual level is easy and straightforward. If you just throw away the sunscreen and eat more eggs, those two steps alone may greatly increase your chances of living a long and healthy life.

But Chopra and fellow scientists Margaret Haydon and Gérard Lambert refused, pointing to gaps in Monsanto’s safety data. The in-house controversy hit the fan at Senate hearings at the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry in 1998, where Chopra delivered unflinching – many say heroic – testimony that blew the lid off government and industry complicity in Health Canada's drug approval process. His insistence on “my duty to speak out" made Chopra a darling of the non-GMO movement, but he refused to wear the hero’s mantle.

Monsanto's Roundup Destroys Healthy Microbes in Humans and in Soils

A new study shows that Monsanto's Roundup weedkiller, which we already know damages healthy soil microbial activity, also damages the gut microbiome of rats.

...

According to Prof. Gilles-Eric Séralini, one of the authors of the study:

These results show that the declarations of glyphosate as the active principle for toxicity are scientifically wrong, and that the toxicity assessment is also erroneous: glyphosate is tested alone for long-term health effects at regulatory level but the formulants—which are composed of toxic petroleum residues and arsenic—are not tested over the long term. We call for the immediate transparent and public release of the formulations and above all of any health tests conducted on them. The acceptable levels of glyphosate residues in food and drinks should be divided immediately by a factor of at least 1,000 because of these hidden poisons. Glyphosate-based herbicides should be banned.

Will the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency agree? And follow the lead of countries like France and Germany that have proposed countrywide bans on glyphosate?

In memoriam: Shiv Chopra, former Health Canada scientist and whistleblower

But Chopra and fellow scientists Margaret Haydon and Gérard Lambert refused, pointing to gaps in Monsanto’s safety data. The in-house controversy hit the fan at Senate hearings at the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry in 1998, where Chopra delivered unflinching – many say heroic – testimony that blew the lid off government and industry complicity in Health Canada's drug approval process. His insistence on “my duty to speak out" made Chopra a darling of the non-GMO movement, but he refused to wear the hero’s mantle.

Seneff: “This article links chronic illness (diabetes, asthma, juvenile arthritis, etc.) to increased risk to mental health issues in children.

I can't believe that I have to repost this...

Condemning Monsanto With Bad Science Is Dumb:

Did you see the latest indictment of Monsanto making the rounds? It’s a “peer-reviewed” paper in the journal Entropy, co-authored by Anthony Samsel and Stephanie Seneff, blaming glyphosate, the compound in the herbicide Roundup, for virtually all the ills that can befall us.

But here’s the thing — they made it up. Or, all but. They say, “We explain the documented effects of glyphosate and its ability to induce disease, and we show that glyphosate is a ‘textbook example’ of exogenous semiotic entropy: the disruption of homeostasis by environmental toxins.” Exogenous semiotic entropy! That sounds serious. Google it, though, and you find that those three words occur together in only place. This paper. They made it up. At first, I thought the whole thing was one of those jargon-laden academic hoaxes but, alas, it isn’t.

Story:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tamar-haspel/condemning-monsanto-with-_b_3162694.html

-----------------

She’s baa-aack.

Remember Stephanie Seneff? When last Orac discussed her, she had been caught dumpster diving into the VAERS database in order to torture the data to make it confess a “link” between aluminum adjuvants in vaccines and acetaminophen and—you guessed it!—autism. It was a bad paper in a bad journal known as Entropy that I deconstructed in detail around two years ago. As I said at the time, I hadn’t seen a “review” article that long and that badly done since the even more horrible article by Helen Ratajczak entitled Theoretical aspects of autism: Causes–A review (which, not surprisingly, was cited approvingly by Seneff et al). Seneff, it turns out, is an MIT scientist, but she is not a scientist with any expertise in autism, epidemiology, or, for that matter, any relevant scientific discipline that would give her the background knowledge and skill set to take on analyzing the epidemiological literature regarding autism. Indeed, she is in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT, and her web page there describes her thusly:

"Stephanie Seneff is a Senior Research Scientist at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. She received the B.S. degree in Biophysics in 1968, the M.S. and E.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1980, and the Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1985, all from MIT. For over three decades, her research interests have always been at the intersection of biology and computation: developing a computational model for the human auditory system, understanding human language so as to develop algorithms and systems for human computer interactions, as well as applying natural language processing (NLP) techniques to gene predictions. She has published over 170 refereed articles on these subjects, and has been invited to give keynote speeches at several international conferences. She has also supervised numerous Master’s and PhD theses at MIT. In 2012, Dr. Seneff was elected Fellow of the International Speech and Communication Association (ISCA).

In recent years, Dr. Seneff has focused her research interests back towards biology. She is concentrating mainly on the relationship between nutrition and health. Since 2011, she has written over a dozen papers (7 as first author) in various medical and health-related journals on topics such as modern day diseases (e.g., Alzheimer, autism, cardiovascular diseases), analysis and search of databases of drug side effects using NLP techniques, and the impact of nutritional deficiencies and environmental toxins on human health."

So what we have here is a computer scientist interested in artificial intelligence who thinks she can switch her expertise to medicine, biology, and epidemiology. Let’s just put it this way. An undergraduate degree in biophysics in 1968 does not qualify one to do this sort of research, and, as I discussed in her foray into autism and vaccine epidemiology, it really does show. Badly. The paper was so embarrassingly incompetent that I’m surprised any journal was willing to publish it.

Don Huber - Science still looking for Purdue professor's GMO pathogen time bomb:

Criticisms

Use Facts to Make Glyphosate and Glyphosate Resistant Crop Decisions, by Bob Hartzler and Mike Owen, Department of Agronomy, Iowa State, February 2011. "Information presented recently (by Don Huber) on the Web and in seminars across the Midwest has portrayed devastating consequences due to the widespread use of glyphosate and glyphosate resistant crops. It is important to recognize that there is little data published in refereed journals to support these claims. Data that are available have been taken greatly out of context to support the accusations... Recently, Purdue University faculty members have responded to these claims and using peer-reviewed science, have refuted the statements made by Dr. Huber."

Infecting through misinformation…a new kind of communication pathogen?, by Cami Ryan, PhD, Doc Cami Ryan blog, August 21, 2011. "Huber has absolutely NO peer-reviewed science backing his allegations of the connection between the so-called pathogen and synthetic herbicide... When asked about who pays/backs him, he responded by reviewing his history of research (academic life at Purdue). When asked about the scientific processes that purportedly support his allegations, Huber reverts back to why he sent Vilsack the letter in the first place. He never responds to Olson’s questions directly. In fact, he subverts them. Also, there are no references to peer-reviewed research/science to support Huber’s claims. This link that Huber alleges exists between this ‘pathogen’ and synthetic herbicides is extremely weak and based primarily on conjecture...

Some Thoughts About "Cred" and Don Huber, by Steve Savage, Applied Mythology, August 21, 2011. "Don 'Hubers allegations about a mysterious new super-bug are being widely repeated even though they lack scientific or even practical confirmation'. There are credulous audiences in many "green" or "food movement" circles that are more than "ready to believe" Huber. The more extraordinary the claims, the more credibility they seem to carry for those groups. At the risk of offending my readers, this phenomenon is not limited to those with Monsantophobia. There are audiences that are credulous when it comes to the statements of a minority of scientists who doubt Climate Change or Evolution. There are audiences that are credulous when it comes to "revelations" about Obamas birthplace or religion. There are audiences that are credulous when it comes to "death panels," "great Right Wing Conspiracies," "Dirty Dozen Lists" or links between vaccines and autism... In time, it is likely that Dr. Huber's claims will be fully debunked. Unfortunately, the credulous audiences who believe him now will probably never accept the findings of more traditionally credible sources..."

A Generous Offer to Dr. Huber - Turned Down, by Professor Kevin Folta, Illumination, November 13, 2013. "Huber has a pathogen he says causes massive human disease and plant death. He will not release it to the wider scientific community for further tests, even after eight years of no publications or any signs of progress. But he'll jet set around the nation scaring people into believing his story. This should speak volumes. It did tonight, and in a room not usually warm to biotechnology. What I saw him do tonight was scare people for two hours with frightening slides, no controls, speculation, outright bogus claims, flawed logic and straight-up fear. Concerned heads around me nodded in acceptance, taking his authority as a credible source of information. I was so mad watching him misrepresent science and flat out spread misinformation to an interested audience. It stops here. I want to shine light on his false claims and starting with his pathogen is step one. I'm really angry about the distortion of science and the use of science to build fear."

Don Huber, controversial activist scientist promoting mysterious GMO superbug scare, has no data, by Genetic Literacy Project, November 14, 2013. "One problem: there is not a shred of empirical evidence to back up his scare claims, no peer reviewed paper, and he has refused to make this ‘explosive’ data available to any other scientist in the world to confirm–or debunk. The mainstream consensus is that Huber has no data to back up his questionable claims–scientists at his former university have challenged him, writing that there is no evidence to support his allegations, but that’s not stopped activists from featuring Huber at events and promoting his patented scare talk on websites when there is no respectable scientists to engage him. In response to these wild claims, University of Florida scientist Kevin Folta has launched a petition at Change.org to demand that Huber either release his study material to the scientific community or stop misinformation."

Deconstructing Don Huber – A Tale of Two Talks, by Organic farming advocate Rob Wallbridge, The Fanning Mill, January 10, 2014. "Huber intersperses, correlates, and extrapolates this valid data with information that has very little, if any, scientific value. He begins by noting that correlation does not equal causation, but then he’s off to the races with a blinding series of correlations, peppered with references to the results of a few real studies, to the point where most listeners lose track of the initial caveat... Huber also isn’t above using discredited science and non-science to bolster his claims and incite fear. The Seralini rat experiments and Carman/Vlieger pig study figure prominently in his presentation... Needless to say, there’s a great deal of skepticism in the scientific community. The claims he makes for this “entity” are simply not supported by our current understanding of the way the world works... To make matters worse, Huber has refused to share his data, the organism, or his methods for culturing the organism with the broader scientific community. He has published nothing about it that could be subject to peer review, and he’s not allowing other scientists access to the information they need to prove or disprove his hypothesis... Don’t be mistaken – whatever has lead him here, his current path is deceptive, misleading, and irresponsible. Unless and until he can stick to the science and offer solid evidence for his extreme claims, he must be called to account for the way he is scaring people, and his tour of terror must end."

Are the Findings of Dr. Don Huber Alarming or Alarmist? - The Farmer's Life, November 13, 2013. "The claims of Dr. Huber are quite exceptional, but he alledgedly discover this organism 8 years ago, but he seems to refuse to let anyone else in the scientific community help him tackle the issue... Huber is claiming something pretty spectacular, yet no one credible seems to back him up."

Purdue University discredits own professor : Environmentalist – COL (Ret.) Don M. Huber – Glyphosate – Animals and Miscarriages – No Scientific Data – Fearmongering, Pesticide Truths, March 2, 2011. "The issues and claims have been brought forward by Dr. Don Huber, retired professor of Plant Pathology at Purdue University. Recently, Purdue University faculty members have responded to these claims and using peer-reviewed science, have refuted the statements made by Dr. Huber..."

Academic Petition Urges Don Huber to Share Findings, Change.org 2013.

Critiquing anti-biotech scientist Jonathan Latham's 'GMO Dangers' claims:

Dr Latham then starts outlining the science-based "Dangers of GMOs". . . . Italicized phrases are from the article.

1) "Bacillus thuringiensis is all but indistinguishable from . . .anthrax bacterium". The only. . . reason this sentence could have been written is to create fear. A protein that is encoded for in a GM crop is not equivalent to the organism it came from. . . .
2) ". . . Bt insecticides share structural similarities with ricin." This is a stupid argument. It's like saying . . . mushrooms from the grocery store are dangerous because there are poisonous mushrooms out there.

The first link is an article from 2013!!!

Lots has happened since then, they've written more Papers. The newest one on bile acids, which will be of interest to those folks who have lost their gall bladders is coming out this year.

Also, I've posted Seneff's credentials many times. She is a genius. She has always been interested in biology.

You need to consider the sources and who is funding them. Seneff's work is funded by a computer company. You can search back in the other thread and find the video where she explains her funding source, her interests, her transition BACK to biology and WHY she made that transition.

Samsel is retired, self funds his own research and takes donations from the PUBLIC.

Pustai: If you go back and look at Pustai's story, you'll see who funded his study and what happened to him when he tried to publish the results of his gmo research that the company that hired him didn't like. They destroyed his career. He was, like Seralini, exhonerated and was finally able to get his Paper published. (The same thing happened to Tyrone Hayes, look under "Frogs.")

Do you notice Seralini's 2017 study that showed that the "other" ingredients in glyphosate is 1,000 times more toxic than glyphosate. Did you take the time to read and watch any of the information I posted?

I could spend all night listing the scientists for you but I've already done that in the other thread and I'm not redoing the work for someone who will never believe it anyways. The second article you listed is so unprofessional and just nasty. Nasty and mean, that's all they have. They can't show us any independent, non industry funded science proving their food is safe.

Folks figure it out when they or their kids become ill. As I did, they research, change their family's diet and see what happens for themselves. This is how Moms Across America got started, by mothers whose children had severe reactions to food and they wanted to know why. This is why there is such a huge movement in the world to stop gmo seed, food, and all poisons sprayed on our food. Us Mothers did the research, made the changes and we healed ourselves and our children. This is why you see all sorts of products in stores now with the Non-Gmo Verified Butterfly logo. This is why you see the organic sections growing at grocery stores. Even Wal-Mart couldn't ignore the movement and they wanted in on the big money too, so Wal-Mart has their own organic line. Aldis is carry new organics all the time: milk, cereal, eggs, bread, pizza. Duh, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that consumers drive what grocers carry in their stores.

Believe me, this is NOT something I enjoy doing. It is complicated, time consuming and when you finally get the big picture, it affects your outlook on life.

You have a right to believe what you want. If you want to eat gmo food and inject toxic vaccines into your body, go for it and good luck. But if you start to sneeze a lot, get an allergy, a rash on your skin, pain in your stomach, heart burn, prediabetic systems, chrones, IBS, to list just a few, you might want to read a little more than the garbage you listed above.

It doesn't matter if it was written in 1816. Much of what you suggest is 'research' is just as old, largely unpublished, lacking proper peer-review and is scientifically illiterate and inaccurate in too may ways to count.

As for the Pusztai Affair, you're highly misinformed. His research was lacking and incomplete by his own admission, and repeatedly failed to follow proper academic procedure.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pusztai_affair

Correlation does NOT imply causation. Anecdotal evidence is NOT "evidence". It's utterly irrelevant who funded the research. Either it stands up to the rigors of the scientific process, or it doesn't. When you can produce credible, reproducible results that demonstrate the same level of veracity as that of the vast majority of the scientific community, then you'll have my attention. Until such time, you're simply selling snake oil. Very DANGEROUS snake oil, at that.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

You know, Timbo, you can say what you want about the scientists. It really comes down to the people. The people who got sick, change their diet and recovered. That at home, people tried and true science is what is the important factor and it's why we joined this movement. Our bodies feel and act differently when we stop eating gmo foods. You poisoners can't win on this fact. We did our own science experiment at home. I don't need Seneff, Seralini, Samself or any other scientist to tell me these foods are bad for your health. I already knew it when I found these scientists. I had already done the at home experiment.

Right now some folks are taking control of their aging parent's health, changing their diet back to organic and they are seeing significant improvements in physical function and in memory function. I can't wait to share this information with you all in the future.

It's an individual or parental choice. We have a right to know our food was changed and we have the right to decide if we want to eat it. We have a right to know how corporations have taken over our government to pass laws and regulations that benefit only their company/stock holders AND we have a right to hear from scientists, who are independent from the US bought off government and for profit corporations.

People can look at both sides and decide for themselves.

---------------

Why would the chemical/seed industry encourage or hire people to post articles that put down a scientist’s or a parent’s credibility and character?

Simple, American parents found out how their children were being poisoned by their food (and now also the vaccines). One by one, another parent educated another parent and the movement was born. This is a global movement. Parents in all countries are learning about and rejecting gmo foods for good reason. It’s making us and our children ill. The chemical/gmo seed industry does not want you to know what is making you and your family sick because these companies are connected. One company poisons your food, while another fills you with drugs and vaccines. We are their cash cows.

Can we believe that companies that are in the business of selling chemicals and poison seeds have our family’s best interests in mind?

Easy answer. Hell no, profit is the goal at all costs, even if the cost is your death.

Learn about it and YOU decide what’s best for your family.

Roundup/Glyphosate (Genetically Modified Organism = GMO)

In 1994, genetically modified seed was approved as "substantially equivalent" to real food by the FDA (Bush, Sr. Administration). This seed was created in a lab to withstand multiple sprayings of a herbicide poison named Glyphosate. There is also another type of gmo plant that actually grows the toxin in the plant, causing the bug that bites it to die. What could these foods be doing to your health?

Glyphosate is sprayed on our food, playgrounds, road sides, parks, etc. GMO foods kill healthy gut bacteria and opens the blood/brain barrier. We've been buying this gmo food in grocery stores since 1996. We’ve raised a generation of children on this new food.

In 2017, Moms Across America and another scientist tested our vaccines to see if there was any Glyphosate in them. Their results were positive. Glyphosate is in our vaccines.

This is a must watch documentary for every parent. It tells the story of how gmo foods got approved and scientists expressing concern about the health effects. Note that it is dated and you’re going to hear the word “Autism” frequently. (Most people do not understand that Autism has a scale. The scale can go from a learning disability to Aspberger’s.)

This documentary is a good first step in learning about this food.

Dr. Arpad Pusztai - The first GMO whistleblower

Blowing the Whistle, He Knew the Truth About GMOs Years Ago - 2012

World renowned scientist lost his job when he warned about GE foods

Pusztai evoked world wide media attention in August 1998, when he said in British TV that he would not eat genetically engineered food because of the insufficient testing procedures they have undergone.

Pusztai is a world renowned expert on food safety, who worked at UK's leading food safety research lab, the Rowett institute. His statement obviously threatened to damage the then ongoing multimillion PR campaign of the Biotech industry to create public confidence in GE foods. A few days after his public appearance he was suspended and gagged by the research institute where he worked.

Pointed out weakness in present food regulations

Dr Pusztai pointed out that substances in Genetically Engineered (GE) foods that have a slow acting effect would not be detected because present regulations do not require long term safety testing. The regulations prescribe an approval procedure based on the principle of substantial equivalence. In practice this procedure allows very superficially tested foods to be approved. As an illustrative example, he mentioned fresh results from his research on certain pesticidal Lectins (Pusztai is recognized as a world leading expert on Lectins). Pusztai found that rats developed immune system defects and stunted growth after a time period corresponding to 10 years of human life...

Samsel is one of the independent scientists. He became curious about Glyphosate after noticing the grass died in his garden after he had used his own urine to try to keep deer out of his garden. He fought with the EPA to get Monsanto's studies released. He's published six science Papers along with Seneff. Their newest Paper coming out soon will be of interest to anyone who has lost their gall bladder or had gall bladder cancer.

Dr. Mercola interviews Dr. Samsel...July 5, 2015

"Monsanto knew in 1981."

"I believed all the hype like all the other farmers and people around the world...that glyphosate is safe as salt, and that it broke down into harmless chemicals that did no harm. I believed all that stuff until I started studying the chemical... "

"This is like scientific misconduct."

US Court Rejects FDA Appeal on GMO Salmon Approval Documents

Last week, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the FDA’s latest attempt to hide thousands of pages of key government documents related to the agency’s first-ever approval of genetically engineered (GE) salmon for human consumption. The court’s decision is a big win for public transparency and a firm rejection of the Trump administration’s position that it can unilaterally decide whether to withhold government documents from public and court review.

...

The FDA is now required to fully complete the record with all relevant documents. The district court is expected to set a deadline after a hearing in late February. In addition to working to ensure the timely completion of that process, Earthjustice will thoroughly review the full basis for the agency’s decisions.

The Real State of the Union: 6 Ways Trump Is Bad for Food, Health and the Environment

If you watched the State of the Union address this week, you may have picked out a common thread: gutting regulations—many of them crucial to protecting our food and environment—for the sake of higher corporate profits. Trump’s boast that “we have cut more regulations in our first year than any other administration in history”, may be good if you’re Monsanto or Exxon, but it’s dangerous for you and me and our families.

Let’s take a look back at Trump’s first year in office. What is the State of the Food and Environment Union? Here are just a few (of the many) ways the Administration is undermining the food system, public health and the environment.

'Spinning Science and Silencing Scientists' on the Dangers of Glyphosate

What happens when Monsanto doesn’t like what the World Health Organization (WHO) has to say about its flagship product, Roundup weedkiller?

The chemical company convinces U.S. lawmakers to hold a “smoke and mirrors” Congressional hearing, under the guise of “defending scientific integrity,” but really to undermine the unanimous determination by 17 international scientists, based on their analysis of independent, peer-reviewed science, that Roundup is “probably carcinogenic to humans.”

The hearing, which Monsanto asked Congress to hold, will be used to decide if WHO’s International Agency for Cancer Research (IARC)—an unbiased scientific agency charged with protecting public health by warning the public about cancer-causing chemicals—will continue to receive federal funding.

TAKE ACTION: Save the Bees! Ban Neonics!

It’s widely accepted that neonicotinoid pesticides harm bees. But here’s a part of the story you may have missed: Monsanto, Bayer and Syngenta coat their GMO corn seeds with neonics, then charge farmers extra for them—even though studies show that neonic-coated seeds provide no real benefit to farmers. Why do farmers pay extra for seeds that have no extra benefit? Because the biotech companies that have a monopoly on GMO seeds offer only neonic-coated seeds. That’s not good for farmers. Or bees. It’s also not good for humans, when neonics end up in our water and food.

After Obama’s U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) admitted that neonics kill bees the agency began work on a docket that could be used to restrict the use of neonics. But just before passing the baton to Trump, the EPA walked back an earlier proposal for mandatory rules on how neonics can be used while honeybees are pollinating crops. A decade into the colony collapse crisis, politicians on both sides know better than to pretend there’s nothing wrong with neonics. But will they do anything about it? So far, Trump’s EPA has taken every opportunity to side with industry, including chemical and biotech companies, willfully ignoring the consequences for human health and the environment. All the more reason to keep up the pressure.

TAKE ACTION BY MIDNIGHT FEBRUARY 20: Tell the Environmental Protection Agency to ban neonics!

European Parliament creates committee to probe glyphosate approval

Today the plenary of the European Parliament in Strasbourg backed the creation of a special committee to find out whether Monsanto, the multinational producing glyphosate, an active ingredient in broadly used pesticides, tried to influence independent scientific research and therefore EU legislation. The mandate, however, will be broader in order to analyse the system by which pesticides are approved into the European market.

The committee will "analyse and assess possible conflicts of interest at all levels of the approval procedure" and examine whether the Commission has acted in accordance with the EU pesticide regulation when taking decisions on the renewal of the approval of glyphosate.

The Socialists & Democrats' vice-president for sustainability Kathleen Van Brempt said:

“We have strong concerns on the potentially harmful impact of glyphosate on human health, and we want to know what was behind the renewal of its license. This special committee on pesticides will analyse whether the positive reports on glyphosate by the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) were influenced by its developer.

“But this would not be enough; our political group requested a special committee because we want to go beyond the Monsanto papers. If there are flaws in the approval procedure of pesticides, we want to be able to fix them and make sure that health is always put ahead of the economic interests of big corporations. Authorisation and renewal procedures should be based on objective and independent scientific research, preferably by public research institutions. The special committee’s aim is to make the decision-making and evaluation processes transparent and objective.”

The composition of the special committee will be voted on by the Parliament on Thursday 8 February 2018.

China’s First GM Rice Gets US FDA Approval

A genetically modified (GM) rice product developed by a group of Chinese scientists has acquired the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, the first such Chinese product allowed to enter the US market.

Low acceptance

GM food remains highly controversial in China. The anti-GM food sentiment among the Chinese public has hindered efforts to develop and apply biotechnology.

One online comment following the news of Huahui No.1 on Sina Weibo that received the most likes demands that scientists grow the GM rice elsewhere.

“Since the Americans approved it, sell it to the Americans,” reads another popular comment.

Industry writes its own rules for assessing pesticides, GMOs

The new report shows that industry, often via the industry lobby group, the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI), not only designed the methods but also, in 75% of the cases studied, managed to infiltrate its experts into regulatory panels such as those of EU Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to get these methods adopted. The WHO, EU Commission and EFSA failed to stop the infiltration of industry and maintained an ineffective conflict of interest policy. Not coincidentally, regulators also failed to keep their distance from industry. In 50% of the cases studied, regulators and EFSA had exclusive meetings with industry on the methods, excluding other stakeholders.

In the case of GM crops, the concepts of "substantial equivalence" and "comparative assessment" were designed and promoted by industry employees and consultants via ILSI. These same ILSI-affiliated people joined EFSA and 'helped' develop the EFSA guidelines for assessing GMOs, which are based on the ILSI-developed concepts. ILSI even stated that the guidelines developed at EFSA and the WHO represented a major success of its work.

Local author’s book draws attention to serious dangers of pesticide use - Judy Hoy

A book written by naturalist, wildlife biologist and rehabilitator Judy Hoy of Stevensville released this week titled “Changing Faces” chronicles in detail more than 20 years of work to document birth defects in wild animals as well as humans in the face of increasing pesticide use in the local area and elsewhere in the United States and calls for action to deal with the problem “before it is too late.”

...

In addition to her 20 years of hands-on research and data collection on the subject, Hoy has co-authored four published studies on these issues and sees her book as a vehicle to take what she considers a serious issue to a broader public. With the help of her husband, Bob, a retired Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologist and game warden, she began documenting and reporting new birth defects and other adverse health issues on mammals, birds and amphibians many years ago..

Seneff: “Several years ago, i wrote several essays on health and posted them on my MIT web page, but I haven't written one in a long time. I just completed a new one that I think you will find interesting, on mouse models of autism. I believe that these mouse models are telling us loud and clear that glyphosate is causing autism.”

What We can Learn from Mouse Models of Autism.

Remarkably, mice can acquire a syndrome that looks a great deal like human autism, and researchers have been able to create multiple breeds of "designer mice" that exhibit autism–like socio–communicative deficits. These mouse strains have turned out to be very useful for helping us understand the pathology of human autism, even though the mapping is not perfect. One such strain is a naturally occurring inbred strain known as BTBR T+tf/J mice (BTBR for short) [5, 6]. Another mouse model was generated by exposing a mouse dam's brain to a toxic chemical emulating a viral infection during gestation, and this resulted in the expression of autism–like behaviors in many of the pups [7, 8, 17]. In what is perhaps the most surprising experiment due to its specificity, researchers were able to create autism in mice simply by eliminating their brain's ability to produce an important biological molecule called heparan sulfate, by inactivating, only in the brain, a gene that encodes a specific enzyme that is essential for its synthesis [9]. This manipulation was done at birth. The authors wrote in the paper: "Remarkably, these mutant mice recapitulate almost the full range of autistic symptoms, including impairments in social interaction, expression of stereotyped, repetitive behavior, and impairments in ultrasonic vocalization." Many of the unique features that show up in these mouse models, particularly with respect to disruption of the gut microbes, have parallels among autistic children.

...

9. Conclusion

In summary, a disrupted gut microbiome (which can be caused by glyphosate) leads to a leaky gut barrier, a leaky brain barrier and a leaky placental barrier. This allows toxic substances such as aluminum, phenolic compounds and glyphosate, as well as live viruses and endotoxins from vaccines, to invade the brain, and, by breaching the placental barrier, expose the fetus to harm. An overzealous immune reaction to these insults disrupts neuronal development and causes autistic–like behaviors in the mouse pups and in children whose mothers have been similarly exposed.

The BTBR mice became autistic after many generations of inbreeding during glyphosate exposure in the lab. It would be very interesting to find out what would happen if a group of BTBR mice were provided a nutrient–dense organic diet and clean water, and allowed to reproduce through multiple generations with this healthy diet. Would the descendants eventually lose their autism diagnosis? If they did, it would tell us a great deal about the importance of an organic diet to human health, and would greatly strengthen the idea that glyphosate is a causative factor in autism.

Monsanto's Fingerprints All Over Newsweek's Hit on Organic Food

Reporting on an email exchange released in litigation with Monsanto over cancer concerns, the Times’Danny Hakim wrote:

“Monsanto asked Mr. Miller if he would be interested in writing an article on the topic, and he said, ‘I would be if I could start from a high-quality draft.’

The article appeared under Mr. Miller’s name, and with the assertion that ‘opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.’ The magazine did not mention any involvement by Monsanto in preparing the article …

Forbes removed the story from its website on Wednesday and said that it ended its relationship with Mr. Miller amid the revelations.”

The opinion wire Project Syndicate followed suit, after first adding a disclaimer to Miller’s commentaries noting that they would have been rejected if his collaboration with Monsanto had been known.

GM crops are made to be used with pesticides. It’s all about selling chemicals.

GM crops in Brazil have driven up pesticide use

Here's an extremely useful study with a clear abstract. The study found that GM crop adoption in Brazil has driven up pesticide use 1.6-fold between the years 2000 and 2012.

The cumulative growth in pesticide use was three times higher than the growth in productivity (kg/ha) and 10 times higher than population growth for the same period. Each year, pesticide use per capita increased by 7%, while productivity increased by only 3.5%.

How Herbicides are Killing Us: Dr. Seneff Part 1 and 2 - 2014

Here is the first of two video interviews with Dr. Stephanie Seneff from MIT, who reveals how and why popular herbicides like RoundUp (and others) that contain glyphosate have a multiplier killing effect on creatures of planet earth.

The linkages between glyphosates and myriad chronic conditions are spelled out in both of these videos, some mentioned include:

- Glyphosate and intestinal dysbiosis;
- Glyphosate and autism;
- Glyphosate and acute kidney disease;
- Glyphosate and demineralization of bones and joints.

How Statins, Pesticides and Wireless Radiation Affect Your Heart Health

More recently, Seneff and her research partner, Anthony Samsel, a research scientist and environmental and public health consultant, have found a significant amount of circumstantial evidence suggesting the chemical takes the place of glycine (an amino acid) in proteins, thereby impairing trypsin’s function, which is to digest proteins.

This increases the proteins’ allergenic potential. Glyphosate also causes leaky gut, allowing undigested proteins access to your general blood circulation. The end result is autoimmune disease, as your immune cells go into overdrive. “We have an epidemic in all kinds of different autoimmune diseases and food allergies, and I think all of that traces back to glyphosate,” she says.

From Moms Across America…

Did you know that despite the fact that 1 out of 2 males and 1 out of 3 females in America are expected to get cancer, a group of U.S. Congress members serving on the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, have threatened to defund and dismantle the World Health Organization's Independent Science Body, the International Agency for Research of Cancer (IARC)?

U.S. defunding might have the impact of dismantling this entire body which serves the whole world on cancer issues, as part of the World Health Organization.

PREPOSTEROUS! Outrageous! Why would they do this?

Chemical company Monsanto, the primary beneficiary of the sales of glyphosate herbicides, a big donor of many Congressmen/Congresswomen on the Hill, would LOVE to see the IARC dismantled. If so, the IARC's classification of glyphosate as a probable carcinogen would no longer stand...and the CA EPA might legally be required to remove it from the California Prop 65 list. THEN, Monsanto could merrily go on selling glyphosate herbicides in not only the state of California but states across the country and countries around the world without the concern of a carcinogen stigma.

The Congress members that are pandering to the chemical corporations and are trying to defund IARC are a disgrace to democracy. They need to hear from their constituents that you will NOT support an elected official who receives donations from chemical companies or continues their attack on IARC.

It is in times like this that we must take action, we must speak up for our health and freedom.

Please call, write and meet with your Senators, especially the ones below, on the committee working to defund IARC, and stop the corruption and contamination of our country.

Why the Non-GMO Project Verifies Low-Risk Ingredients

Our mission is to preserve and build a non-GMO food supply. By verifying low-risk products, the Non-GMO Project’s work builds consumer interest and industry investment in non-GMO food production. Biotech developers are constantly
working to patent and commercialize new organisms (apples, bacteria, cows, salmon, wheat, etc.). The persistent lack of regulation and oversight for GMOs—including unapproved variety trials conducted in open-air fields at undisclosed
locations—means there are ongoing and serious risks of contamination from experimental varieties. Contamination has happened on numerous occasions, such as the 2013 discovery of unapproved genetically engineered glyphosate-resistant wheat. The Non-GMO Project is poised to proactively respond and coordinate surveillance testing strategies to help assess the extent of the contamination. By including low-risk products in the scope of our program and databases, we are poised to respond to contamination, identify risk products and conduct testing to get any problems under control quickly.

In addition, thanks to consumer demand, the Non-GMO Project is changing the way food companies look at their business in regards to sourcing ingredients and the supply chain. Companies are now actively seeking the Non-GMO Project Verified mark to demonstrate their non-GMO commitment and setting the bar for the future of food production. Every day consumers learn about our mission through the more than 40,000 products that carry the Butterfly, and engage through our websites and social media to find out more. Here are three examples of ingredients we receive questions about:

Dr Stephanie Seneff - Vaccines, Glyphosate and Autism

Numerous health problems increased after GMOs were introduced in 1996. The percentage of Americans with three or more chronic illnesses jumped from 7% to 13% in just 9 years; food allergies skyrocketed, and disorders such as autism, diabetes, reproductive disorders, digestive problems, and others are on the rise. Dr. Stephanie Seneff explains how glyphosate (Round Up) causes nutritional deficiencies leading to diseases such as autism, alzheimer's, crone's, parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, muscle wasting, irritable bowel disease and leaky gut syndrome.

GMO Free USA

We testified on America’s behalf at a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) public hearing in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the FDA was gathering feedback on how to spend its $3 million appropriation from Congress to promote GMOs.

Buried in a short term Congressional funding bill to keep the government open last September, Monsanto was gifted a $3 million grant directing the FDA to fund a campaign to promote genetically modified organisms in food. “It is not the responsibility of the FDA to mount a government-controlled propaganda campaign to convince the American public that genetically modified foods are safe,” said Rep. Nita M. Lowey (D-NY), who attempted to get the measure struck from the bill. “The FDA has to regulate the safety of our food supply and medical devices. They are not, nor should they be, in the pro-industry advertising business,” Lowey said during a congressional hearing.

An article in the Washington Post initially carried this headline: "The government is going to try to convince you to like GMO foods". But it seems the GMO/agrichemical industry didn't like the sound of that and the WP changed the previously published headline to "The Government is Going to Counter Misinformation About GMO Foods". PATHETIC!

At the hearing we heard the testimonies of many industry groups. Some called for the funds to be used for more biased “safety” studies and some called for advertising campaigns using mothers and children. But most worrying, some called for the funds to be used to fund "GMO education" in our public schools.

While the GMO industry seemingly controls the media and our government, we still control the markets. Growing rejection of GMOs in grocery stores nationwide is the only thing that keeps Monsanto executives up at night. That’s why their minions in Congress are launching this taxpayer-funded GMO propaganda campaign. But we are winning because we speak up. Watch the videos and share them with your family, friends and coworkers. Information is power. Education is critical to winning this battle against Monsanto and the GMO/agrichemical industry.

A must watch film!!!

Will your or your parent be subjected to the "million dollar workup?"

Death by Medicine

A film by Dr. Gary Null, Ph.D. - (Great, great film that covers all the bases.)

Takeover of medical schools by Rockefeller, instead of recalling a drug that is doing harm right away, they calculate cost of loss, drugs that make you feel a little better but still keep you sick enough to keep coming back, former pharma reps talk about what they are instructed to say to your doctor, including disciplining your doctor when he doesn’t write enough prescriptions, psychiatric drugs, killer drugs, blood product Factor 9 contaminated with HIV, Lobby, our Government, FDA, the revolving door, the American Medical Association takeover by pharma, doctors, a former hospital administrator, insurance, homeopathy, natural food and medicine.

“This is the problem with not only the medicine people but in all spheres of science. There is real vested interest in keeping the imperfect science because too much has been invested...”

“And they are given sales goals…” “Now when a doctor writes a prescription, that prescription is entered into a database. This information is sold to the drug companies so they can use it to then give it to the drug reps and so if you are the doctor that is prescribing a lot of the drug, that drug rep is instructed to give you expensive gifts. If your profile falls off it’s also a drug rep that is sent to your office to give you a dressing down. So then you have drug reps as disciplinarian.”

“I was told to minimize side effects…”

“Or if you are a physician you decide for whatever reason that you have a better way, that these three protocols are not going to do the trick, that you know that if you just told them to eat differently, take a couple vitamins, they’d do a whole lot better. If you did that because you diviated from protocol, you are risking loss of license, legal prosecution, loss of hospital priviledges and these protocols can literally cause you to be treated to death by being exposed to hazardous tests unrelated to your condition, hazardous medications that have no hope of improving your condition. So the doctor literally is obligated to provide you with this thing called the “standard of care” which actually might result in your demise.

“As an administrator we’re taught that medicine remember is in fact a business and, we’re there to perpetuate that business. We don’t really have incentive to make people well. Our incentive is to keep bringing in chronically ill people, treating them with what we’ve been indoctoronated to treat them with to synthetic drugs, radiation or surgery, send them home and keep them coming back over and over and over again until they finally die. And so as an administrator in the hospital I had over 100 staff under me that I needed to constantly oversee and evaluate. Now again being a nurse administrator, I saw the mistakes that physicians made, the orders that were written, and they were the wrong orders altogether to be written for a patient. Wrong diets ordered, they make major mistakes. I saw the mistakes that nurses made. The medication errors, I’ll bet half of them were never even reported because it’s a fear based system. I’ve watched people come into hospitals, and we called it the million dollar work up. We wanted to make sure we did as many work up tests as possible in order for us to generate revenue and to really make sure we could diagnose these people well, and then once we diagnosed them, we filled them with our medications. That was mostly our middle age people. Once we got to our elderly, that was a whole different ball game. We’d warehouse them in the hospitals in the acute care settings until we can get them into nursing homes.”

Monsanto Hires Internet Trolls to Cover Up Roundup’s Cancer Risk - 2017

According to court documents, Monsanto hired third parties to search out negative comments about their products and counter them with pseudo-scientific research commissioned by the company itself.

Mike Papantonio, of America's Lawyer, predicts that Monsanto will pay heavily in a jury trial and describes how the company even has trolled The Ring of Fire, while manipulating the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

UNCOVERING THE WEINBERG GROUP - 2008

Back in February 2006, journalist Paul Thacker wrote a story called "The Weinberg proposal." It appeared in Environmental Science & Technology, a journal published by the American Chemical Society.

The piece was about the Weinberg Group, a scientific consulting firm in D.C. It works for chemical companies to manufacture uncertainty about the health and environmental effects of chemicals, with the aim of fighting off regulatory and legal challenges. Lest you think that description melodramatic, it's worth reading the letter Weinberg sent DuPont (PDF) on that company's battle over Teflon. It describes how Weinberg would "harness, focus and involve the scientific and intellectual capital of our company with one goal in mind—creating the outcome our client desires." Thacker uncovered the letter in an EPA docket.

...

As part of his investigation, Rep. John D. Dingell (D-Mich.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, wants to examine the role played by the Weinberg Group, a Washington firm that employs scientists, lawyers and public relations specialists to defend products from legal and regulatory action. The firm has worked on Agent Orange, tobacco and Teflon, among other products linked to health hazards, and congressional investigators say it was__hired by Sunoco, a BPA manufacturer__.

...

In a statement, Dingell said, "The tactics apparently employed by the Weinberg Group raise serious questions about whether science is for sale at these consulting groups, and the effect this faulty science might have on the public health."

ABC News: Congress: Science for Sale? - 2008

The chairman pointed to a confidential Weinberg Group document published in 2006, in which the firm suggested to DuPont de Nemours & Company several ways it could help "shape the debate" about one of its chemical products. The firm proposed developing "blue-ribbon panels," "constructing a study to establish" that DuPont's chemical was safe, and arranging the publication of papers "dispelling the alleged nexus" between the company's chemical and its alleged harmful effects on humans.

"We will harness...the scientific and intellectual capital of our company with one goal in mind -- creating the outcome our client desires," the 2003 letter stated. The company reportedly confirmed the authenticity of the letter to the publication which revealed it, Environmental Science & Technology.

Bisphenol A: Is Science for Sale? - 2008

Congress Accuses Consultant of Endangering Public Health

Dingell and Stupak accused the Weinberg Group of using a playbook of tactics to "shape the debate" about controversial chemicals." Among the tactics: develop blue ribbon panels, construct studies and publish white papers in order to convince the public of the safety of a controversial chemical. (The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel sought comment from Weinberg Group and did not get a response.)

The Weinberg Group describes itself as "an international scientific and regulatory consulting firm that helps companies protect their product at every stage of its life. We help our clients improve manufacturing processes, clear regulatory hurdles, and defend products in the courts and the media."

The Weinberg Website goes on to tout its credentials, which indicate how far-reaching the implications of the Congressional accusation could be:

"Our technical, scientific and regulatory experts deliver the crucial results that get products to market and keep them there.

The Weinberg Group has successfully partnered with Fortune 500 companies, as well as leading corporations of all sizes from around the world. Our clients represent a broad range of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, chemical, consumer product, food and cosmetic."

Seneff: “Cozy relationships between universities and agrichemical industry work to keep us in the dark about the toxicity of these chemicals.”

Is Something Fishy Going on Between the University of Florida and the Agrichemical Industry? Consumers Have a Right to Know

A lawsuit could uncover the deepest, darkest secrets of the food and agrichemical industries.

“Today, we see more and more examples of this type of influence," said Patty Lovera, assistant director of Food and Water Watch. In 2012, FWW published a report on corporate influence in university agricultural research, which found that private-sector funding “not only corrupts the public research mission of land-grant universities but also distorts the science that is supposed to help farmers improve their practices and livelihoods." A major part of the problem, said Lovera, is how public funding of research has declined since the 1980s, leaving the door ajar for the private sector to step into the breach. That said, the food and agrichemical industries have long used a variety of tactics to shape public discourse surrounding their products.

Monsanto scientists frequently sit on editorial boards at prominent publications, for example, while companies like Coca-Cola have exerted their influence to shape federal dietary guidelines, according to emails passed between two former Coca-Cola executives. But by funding research themselves, these industries can directly impact the information-flow, shaping studies to ensure the findings will prove favorable, Lovera said. "The level of influence, when you add it all together, is disheartening if you had started with the assumption that the academic process was somehow apolitical, or somehow non-corruptible," she said.

Glyphosate Residues Discovered in Almond Milk, Bread and Veggie Burgers

New laboratory testing commissioned by Moms Across America has shown the presence of the world’s most used herbicide - glyphosate – in almond milk, vegetarian burgers, bread and Skippy’s “100% Natural” peanut butter and Lipton’s “100% Natural” Mint and Green tea.

Honeycutt stated, “Now is the time. Our country is in an unaffordable and tragic public health crisis. Toxic chemicals have been shown to contribute to or cause many of these health issues, especially for our children. It’s time for our states to take actions that our EPA is not willing to take. They can, must and we believe, will protect our citizens from irreparable harm. It’s just a matter of which state will be the first to ban glyphosate?”

35K Californians Boycotting Produce Grown With Oil Wastewater

“How in the world do these corporations think this is OK? This is scary. Hundreds of thousands of Americans put Halos Mandarins into their kids’ lunch boxes every day and by all appearances, Halos and other major California growers — some even considered ‘organic’ — are irrigating their crops with oil wastewater, laced with carcinogens,” explained Eddie Kurtz, executive director of the California-based Courage Campaign. “These brands have no plans to stop. If anything, Big Oil wants to find more takers for this toxic water. Consumers and parents all over the country need to take action immediately, educate each other, and stop buying food from these misguided, short-sighted companies.”

FDA to investigate after report exposes euthanasia drug in dog food

So how is pentobarbital, a drug not allowed to be used on animals or intended for food, getting into the food?

“It comes from euthanasia of animals using that euthanasia drug,” said Dr. Nicholas Dodman, chief scientific officer for The Center for Canine Behavior Studies and former director of the Animal Behavior Program at Tufts University. “So, these animals could be dogs, they could be cats, they could be horses - but how is it getting into the pet food? If they say it doesn’t come from dogs, cats and horses where does it come from? It doesn’t come from outer space.”

Complete Genes May Pass from Food to Human Blood - 2013

Our bloodstream is considered to be an environment well separated from the outside world and the digestive tract. According to the standard paradigm large macromolecules consumed with food cannot pass directly to the circulatory system. During digestion proteins and DNA are thought to be degraded into small constituents, amino acids and nucleic acids, respectively, and then absorbed by a complex active process and distributed to various parts of the body through the circulation system. Here, based on the analysis of over 1000 human samples from four independent studies, we report evidence that meal-derived DNA fragments which are large enough to carry complete genes can avoid degradation and through an unknown mechanism enter the human circulation system. In one of the blood samples the relative concentration of plant DNA is higher than the human DNA. The plant DNA concentration shows a surprisingly precise log-normal distribution in the plasma samples while non-plasma (cord blood) control sample was found to be free of plant DNA.

So, what changed in the 80’s and 90’s that could be contributing to this?

1986, Reagan signed the Childhood Vaccine Injury Act which gave vaccine manufacturers protection from being sued by anyone injured by a vaccine. So what did they do? They started making more vaccines. Kids today are getting 75 doses of vaccines by the time they reach 18. There are more coming because it’s a no risk money maker. They have no liability people!

1996, the first gmo food products were in our grocery stores, approved by Bush Sr. administration. Also noteworthy, in Obama’s administration there was a “rider” added to one of the bills that was to save the government from shutdown. The rider was written by Monsanto and submitted by their Missouri Senator. It was nicknamed “The Monsanto Protection Act.” Obama signed the bill and the rider went through. This Protection for Monsanto would have given them the same protection from liability that the vaccines manufacturers had. Fortunately, due to public outrage this rider expired. I posted about this previously in the beginning of this thread.

Also in the 90’s, the Clinton’s supported Monsanto. Hillary was one of their former attorneys.

Latham: In other words, from Ronald Reagan onward--through Bill Clinton and Barack Obama--American public health has been collapsing, lurching backwards from one election cycle to another. It would seem the partisan kabuki in Washington, shadows on the wall, is as much a cover for structural crack-up as its cause. University of Washington public health professor Stephen Bezruchka commented on the editorial: "The ship is sinking and we need to do more than re-arrange the deck chairs."

Failing health of the United States

In theory, policy makers jolted by the shortening lifespan of Americans would hasten to correct these conditions. They would promote education, boost support for children and families, increase wages and economic opportunity for the working class, invest in distressed communities, and strengthen healthcare and behavioral health systems. But the pro-business policy agenda favored by elected officials rarely prioritizes these needs. On the contrary, recent legislation and regulations may prolong or intensify the economic burden on the middle class and weaken access to healthcare and safety net programs.

Latham: “Congressional report hits Monsanto hard today.”

Spinning Science & Silencing Scientists: A Case Study in How the Chemical Industry Attempts to Influence Science

Minority Staff Report, Prepared for Members of the Committee on Science, Space & Technology, U.S. House of Representatives, February 2018

Conclusion. The incidents and tactics outlined in this report are, unfortunately, not
surprising when it comes to the chemical industry. These same tactics were employed by the
chemical industry with regards to lead and a host of other chemicals. They also mimic the
tobacco industry’s efforts to muddy the science surrounding the health effects of smoking. These
efforts have been thoroughly documented, perhaps most notably in David Michaels book,
“Doubt is Their Product: How Industry’s Assault on Science Threatens Your Health,” and in
“Merchants of Doubt,” by Naomi Oreskes and Erik M. Conway. These industry efforts
oftentimes only come to light through disclosure of internal industry documents through the
discovery process during litigation. The disclosures made during tobacco litigation revealed the
inner workings of the “science for hire” industry and industry’s tactics to undercut legitimate
science. Likewise, this report relies heavily on documents which have been publicly released in
the ongoing litigation with Monsanto. That litigation is ongoing, and many documents and
deposition transcripts remain under court seal. As these documents continue to be released to the
public, more revelations about industry tactics and influence will undoubtedly come to light.

Given the public policy implications of the IARC and EPA reviews of glyphosate (and other
chemicals), staff wanted to ensure that Members had the most up to date information concerning
the troubling industry led efforts to discredit the IARC process and exert undue influence at the
EPA.

Michael Colby: GMO corn to blame for soaring pesticide use

Ending its three-year stall on publishing statewide pesticide usage data, Vermont’s Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets finally released the information in January in response to a public records request. The newly released data covers the years 2014-2016, and it shows a dramatic increase in pesticide use on Vermont’s dairy farms, particularly when it comes to managing GMO cornfields. The use of glyphosate, for example, more than doubled in those three years, while overall corn-related pesticide use rose 27 percent.

Have Monsanto and the Biotech Industry Turned Natural Bt Pesticides into GMO “Super toxins”? By Jonathan Latham, PhD

Second, there is a lesson here surely for new generations of biotechnologies. What our paper shows is that government regulators across the globe have opted to assume that Bt toxins, no matter how much they have been altered, whether accidentally or on purpose, have a toxicological profile that is unchanged.

Such an interpretation is highly convenient for applicants wanting to roll out potent novel toxins, but it is useless for protecting public health and the environment. Such disregard of the scientific evidence, laid out in full by us for the first ever time, is part of an unfortunate wider pattern–which we have been documenting–of adoption by GMO regulators of industry-friendly theoretical frameworks and interpretations.

It is the question for our times. How to integrate science into decision-making but ensure it is applied rigorously and impartially and therefore in the public interest?

PCBs are particularly difficult to remove because they are passed through the food chain from smaller species to predators.

Tell Congress: Put More Veggies—and Less Junk Food—in the Farm Bill!

https://action.organicconsumers.org/o/50865/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=21517

How the Government Supports Your Junk Food Habit - 2016

But critics say the subsidies program no longer serves its original purpose. Instead of supporting small farmers who grow fruits, nuts and vegetables – which the government calls “specialty crops” — the program now primarily subsidizes large producers that churn out a handful of “commodity” crops that include grains, corn, sorghum and oilseeds like soybeans.

According to the Government Accountability Office, small “specialty” farms represent three-quarters of the country’s cropland but receive just 14 percent of government subsidies. Large agribusinesses that specialize in growing the major commodity crops represent 7 percent of the cropland and receive about half of all subsidies.

Previous versions of the farm bill even stipulated that farmers who took subsidies for commodity crops could not grow fruits and vegetables. If they did, they were penalized…

Seneff: “I have long suspected that glyphosate contamination in peanuts could be the reason for the epidemic we're seeing in peanut allergies. Zen Honeycutt's recent results give strong support for that idea.”

Got Monsanto's Glyphosate in Your Lunch? By Mom’s Across America’s Founder, Zen Honeycutt

Since glyphosate is being found to be present in tea and these other foods, it is likely that other toxins, such as arsenic and heavy metals might also be present, as a recent study by Seralini et al. showed these known poisons to be found in all of the glyphosate herbicides tested. The CA EPA Office of Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) placed glyphosate on the Prop 65 carcinogen list on July of 2017 and by July 2018, citizens and NGOs may be able to sue food manufacturers for not labeling their foods and beverages which contain high levels of glyphosate. The problem is, citizens should be able to sue for even nanograms of glyphosate in our food products, not just high levels, because again, ultra-low levels, levels in the part per trillion, have been shown to cause harm and stimulate the growth of cancer cells.

Monsanto and 11 states have sued the CA EPA OEHHA for listing glyphosate as a carcinogen and demand it be removed, claiming one reason is that having to label glyphosate-containing products, which may include many food products, could lead to a loss of profits. Moms Across America and the National Health Federation filed an Amicus Brief and pointed out that the Office of Health Hazard Assessment makes determinations based on impact to public health, not on impact to the profits to corporations. Sri Lanka, Italy, Austria, Germany, France and six Middle Eastern countries have declared or begun to ban or restrict the use of glyphosate herbicides.

If our American health agencies will put our citizen’s health first and do their job, food and beverages containing glyphosate will be labeled and they would be lobbying our government to ban glyphosate herbicides altogether.

If our food manufacturers value their customers and the health of Americans they will heed the warning from numerous studies that have been published for years showing serious harm and death from glyphosate and toxic chemicals, and ask their suppliers discontinue the use of these chemicals and source organic ingredients instead. We certainly hope they will. Our lives literally depend on it.

The FDA is now required to fully complete the record with all relevant documents. The district court is expected to set a deadline after a hearing in late February. In addition to working to ensure the timely completion of that process, Earthjustice will thoroughly review the full basis for the agency’s decisions.

“Our courts provide a level playing field where not even the federal government is above the law,” says Earthjustice attorney Steve Mashuda. “Federal agencies cannot avoid accountability by omitting inconvenient facts and presenting a fictional account of their decisions.”

Latham: “So you don't need to read the paper: We are not protected by our chemical regulations against neurotoxic industrial chemicals say researchers who worry about the unexplained epidemic of neurological illnesses.”

Consensus statement on the need for innovation, transition and implementation of developmental neurotoxicity (DNT) testing for regulatory purposes.

Abstract

This consensus statement voices the agreement of scientific stakeholders from regulatory agencies, academia and industry that a new framework needs adopting for assessment of chemicals with the potential to disrupt brain development. An increased prevalence of neurodevelopmental disorders in children has been observed that cannot solely be explained by genetics and recently pre- and postnatal exposure to environmental chemicals has been suspected as a causal factor. There is only very limited information on neurodevelopmental toxicity, leaving thousands of chemicals, that are present in the environment, with high uncertainty concerning their developmental neurotoxicity (DNT) potential. Closing this data gap with the current test guideline approach is not feasible, because the in vivo bioassays are far too resource-intensive concerning time, money and number of animals. A variety of in vitro methods are now available, that have the potential to close this data gap by permitting mode-of-action-based DNT testing employing human stem cells-derived neuronal/glial models. In vitro DNT data together with in silico approaches will in the future allow development of predictive models for DNT effects. The ultimate application goals of these new approach methods for DNT testing are their usage for different regulatory purposes.

Taggart, recently featured in an ABC News "Food Forecast" segment, calls himself a pioneer in the grass-fed, grass-finished—also known as 100% grass-fed—meat industry. But he’s the first to admit he isn’t doing anything new.

“Cows are ruminant animals. They have four parts to their stomach for a reason, and that’s so they can digest grass, which we don’t very well, and convert it to a protein that we can consume. They were designed to eat grass. This system worked for a few million years before we got here. It’s designed to work that way and it works very well if you just get out of the way and let it happen.”

According to Nielsen data, retail sales of grass-fed beef grew from $17 million in 2012 to $272 million in 2016.

Health-conscious, environmentally concerned consumers are driving the demand. Grass-fed beef is better for your health than beef finished on grain in today’s factory farms.

This new game from Beyond GM serves up serious information about genetic modification in food and farming.

Seed Control

The practice of saving this year’s seeds for replanting next year is as old as farming itself. It is an important part of the economy of many small farms and also helps ensure continuity in a farmer’s crops, from season to season.

GMO seeds, which are patented products owned by the companies that engineer them, cannot be saved and farmers risk prosecution and high fines if they try to do so.

The issue of corporate control of the world’s seeds can be looked at in different ways; one perspective has it that four companies control over 40% of the global seed supply; another is that ten companies control 75% of global seed sales. Either way it is clear that the power and control over our food system now sits in a few, undemocratic hands.

Looked at regionally the picture is even more horrific; the “big four” – Monsanto, DuPont/Pioneer Hi-Bred, Syngenta and Dow AgroSciences, all biotech companies – own 80% of the US corn market and 70% of the soybean business. These are almost all GMO crops and the genetically engineered traits within them are owned by Monsanto.

In Europe, Monsanto subsidiaries control over 40% of the non-GMO fruit and vegetable seeds sold.

This concentration of power limits the independence of farmers to save their own seeds as well as the choices they have over which crops and varieties to grow. It also drives drive up farming costs, inhibits public sector research into sustainable alternatives and places the global food system under the control of a corporate cabal.

Close and spin again.

China gets tougher on soybean importers in GMO clampdown

From January this year, any US cargo that has more than 1% foreign matter must be clearly identified as such and will be subject to further inspections in China.

That, sources say, will lead to additional inspections taking place in the US and adding up to 15 cents a bushel ($5/mt) on the cost.

Monsanto Faces Farmer Antitrust Suit on Dicamba, Resistant Seed

Monsanto Corp. faces a treble damages class action alleging that its pesticide Dicamba poses such a risk to farmers they are forced to purchase resistant seed — marketed under patent at high prices by Monsanto — to avoid catastrophic damage to their crops from pesticide drift.

A North Dakota farm alleges it bought and Monsanto’s dicamba-resistant soybean seeds to avoid damage from nearby farms using the pesticide. The complaint, filed Feb. 1 in Missouri federal court, says that Monsanto recklessly marketed a pesiticide shown to be very volatile and very mobile from target fields to neighboring areas. As a result, it alleges, farmers with no intention to use Monsanto’s dicamba pesticide still must purchase its marketed resistant cotton and soybean seeds or risk heavy crop damage.

Healthy Food, Healthy Children

Ethnographer: a branch of anthropology dealing with the scientific description of individual cultures.

One of the things that surprised me about this project was how convinced I became that GM foods and their associated pesticides were a problem. When I began, I honestly didn’t initially think GM foods were as big a problem as Michelle and others made them out to be. However, the more I learned about the theories of chronic illness that were being talked about in the integrative medical world and the amazing assault-like campaigns to dismiss concern over these food technologies, the more I was convinced.

If I had to pick one most surprising insight about this work, however, it would be the degree to which attacks on scientific credibility have not only defined the work on this area, but also penetrated into the communities of opposition to GM foods. So in the first place, the ways in which the agrochemical industries have tried to silence anyone writing against these technologies, going way beyond simple questioning of the science to full blown character assassination, is to my mind evidence of their suspicion that the existing science alone is not convincing enough. Industry’s and industry-paid spokespersons’ steadfast and persistent campaigns to evade criticism and even questioning of the risks are stunning. At the same time, I’ve noticed that similar critiques of “the science” have trickled down into communities that are opposed to GM foods (based on evidence and not simply on politics). I find this fascinating.

USDA Accused of Disseminating “Corporate Propaganda” Backing Agribusiness Switch of Organics to (Soil-less) Hydroponic Production

Despite the USDA’s claim that hydroponics has always been approved as part of organics, The Cornucopia Institute, a farm policy research group based in Wisconsin, has obtained numerous internal and external emails exchanged between NOP staff and certifiers expressing their understanding that soil-based production is required. These documents were procured through a Freedom of Information Act request and are dated as recently as 2016.

“The NOP has unilaterally, and in secret, allowed for the certification of soil-less systems without standards, public notice, or opportunity for public comment,” said The Cornucopia Institute’s senior scientist, Linley Dixon, PhD.

The Precautionary Principle Asks "How Much Harm Is Avoidable?" Rather Than "How Much Harm Is Acceptable?"

Additionally, risk assessment is easily manipulated. Two groups of fully qualified risk assessors, given identical data, can reach wildly different estimates of risk. Therefore, numerical risk assessment fails the acid test of science -- reproducible results -- and does not qualify as "science" or "scientific." Risk assessment is a political art that uses some scientific data. As EPA administrator William Ruckelshaus wrote in 1984, "We should remember that risk assessment can be like the captured spy: If you torture it long enough, it will tell you anything you want to know."

LARGEST-EVER STUDY REVEALS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED CROPS - 2016

“The fact that we have 14 years of farm-level data from farmers all over the U.S. makes this study very special,” Ciliberto said. “We have repeated observations of the same farmers and can see when they adopted genetically modified seeds and how that changed their use of chemicals.”

Since 2008, genetically engineered crops have accounted for more than 80 percent of maize and soybean crops planted in the U.S. Maize seeds are modified with two genes: one kills insects that eat the seed and one allows the seed to tolerate glyphosate, a herbicide commonly used in weed killers like Roundup. Soybeans are modified with just one glyphosate-resistant gene.

Unsurprisingly, maize farmers who used the insect-resistant seeds used significantly less insecticide – about 11.2 percent less – than farmers who did not use genetically modified maize. The maize farmers also used 1.3 percent less herbicide over the 13-year period.

Soybean crops, on the other hand, saw a significant increase in herbicide use, with adopters of genetically modified crops using 28 percent more herbicides than non-adopters.

Ciliberto attributes this increase to the proliferation of glyphosate-resistant weeds.
