yes I'm laughing my ass off due to the fact that Trump and the Republicans called all your links fake news, now tell us son, why is it different today when the policies were already in place 8 years ago. Secondly, with such high output of oil and gas, why are both prices at record highs since Trump came into office? whistle

Well thank you MacDaddy! You truly honor me with your triple-threat response to my poor humble post.

But truth be told, as a disabled retiree, your opinion of the current economic climate doesn't much count as you are no longer a producer in the this society.

I'm more interested in the opinion of the millions of young people out there, struggling to find a good paying job so that they can pay off their tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt and/or start building towards a successful future. With the number of jobs growing, along with household income, and employers every day announcing new and inventive ways to attract workers, their future is finally looking bright!

Well thank you son, your sarcasm is worthy to be noted, a trump supporter caught with their ignorance showing and must now use an alternate plan, lies and and whatever it take to confirm your ignorance, thanks for the comeback. grin

In regard to being useful toward society, a vocational training instructor is very available seeing that my educational background is still intact, not to mention the fact that my Son and Nephew will readily admit that on hands training will always exceed the institute of higher learning...fact son!!!!!

http://money.cnn.com/2018/05/31/news/economy/aluminum-steel-tariff-impact/index.html

The tariffs on steel and aluminum imposed on imports from Canada, Mexico and Europe — and the promised retaliation from these key US trading partners — will ripple across the American economy.

You could be affected even if your business has nothing to do with rolls of aluminum or slabs of steel.

First, the price of some products that everyone buys will probably go up.

Beyond that, the trade dispute with these major partners isn't likely to stop with these products.

Mexico and the EU have already pledged to retaliate against American products with their own tariffs.

For example when the steel and aluminum tariffs were first announced in March, Europe signaled it was prepared to take action aimed at Harley-Davidson (HOG) motorbikes, bourbon whiskey and Levi's jeans in retaliation. Farmers could also be hit by tariffs imposed on food exports.

Tariffs will probably also hurt the value of your 401(k), since a trade war is typically bad news for American stocks. The Dow was down more than 200 points midday Thursday.

Most Republicans oppose Trump on tariffs. Trump is totally ignorant on economics. He has just been extremely lucky so far.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/paul-ryan-breaks-with-trump-on-tariffs/

Last Updated May 31, 2018 6:39 PM EDT

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan came out in opposition to President Trump's decision to move ahead with tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the European Union, Canada and Mexico, saying the move "targets America's allies when we should be working with them to address the unfair trading practices of China."

http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-tariffs-trade-war-great-depression-mistake-2018-5

1,100 economists warn that Trump is repeating one of the biggest mistakes of the Great Depression
Bob Bryan
May. 3, 2018, 12:00 PM
More than 1,100 economists, including 14 Nobel laureates, urged President Donald Trump to reverse course on recent trade measures.
The economists drew comparisons between the current tariff measures under Trump and the Smoot-Hawley Act in 1930.
The Smoot-Hawley tariffs helped contribute to the economic hardships of the Great Depression.

Over 1,100 leading economists sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging the president to reverse course on recent trade tactics — lest the US repeat one of the biggest mistakes of the Great Depression.

The letter, organized by the conservative-leaning National Taxpayers Union, warned that recent tariffs and trade protectionism were harmful to the economy. The economists cited a 1930 letter that warned Congress against passing the Smoot-Hawley Act, a large package of tariffs that many studies cite as a major reason for the depth of the Great Depression.

"Congress did not take economists' advice in 1930, and Americans across the country paid the price," the letter says. "The undersigned economists and teachers of economics strongly urge you not to repeat that mistake. Much has changed since 1930 — for example, trade is now significantly more important to our economy — but the fundamental economic principles as explained at the time have not."

The Smoot-Hawley tariffs, much like Trump's measures, were designed as protection for US industries. But they ended up making the situation worse.

Included on the new letter are 14 Nobel laureates and economists from across the political spectrum, including former chairs of the Council of Economic Advisers under Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

The letter also quotes the warnings from the 1930 letter, which warns that tariffs raise prices on consumers, damage industries that rely on trade directly or indirectly, hurt the fortunes of American farmers, and lead to retaliatory measures from other countries.

The 1930 letter also painted the tariffs as a threat to national security.

"Finally, we would urge our Government to consider the bitterness which a policy of higher tariffs would inevitably inject into our international relations," the 80-year-old letter read. "A tariff war does not furnish good soil for the growth of world peace."

Trump's tariffs on US allies will shrink the savings Americans gained from tax cuts

The U.S. says it will impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from allies such as Canada, Mexico and the European Union.
While the White House acknowledges that these measures will lead to higher prices, the administration argues the effect will be tiny.
But combined with additional tariffs on Chinese imports and retaliatory steps taken by U.S. allies, economists across the political spectrum agree these levies will have a negative impact.

Trump's ‘Smart’ Tariffs Don't Make Economic Sense

The 4 Biggest Consequences of Trump's Disastrous Tariff Plan

For starters, the decision could cripple the U.S. economy

International allies, nonpartisan economists, business leaders and others have roundly condemned the decision. So too have Republican lawmakers like Orrin Hatch, Bob Corker, Ben Sasse and even outgoing House Speaker and reluctant Trump critic Paul Ryan. "I disagree with this decision," Ryan wrote in a statement. "Instead of addressing the real problems in the international trade of these products, today's action targets America's allies when we should be working with them to address the unfair trading practices of countries like China. There are better ways to help American workers and consumers. I intend to keep working with the president on those better options."

2. Jobs will be lost

The White House has tried to sell the tariffs as a way to increase American steel and aluminum manufacturing, and thus bring more jobs to those industries. But 50 percent of American steel and aluminum imports came from Canada, Mexico and the EU, and manufactures can’t just snap their fingers to make up what is being lost. Experts estimate that hundreds of thousands of jobs will have to be cut in industries that rely on imported steel and aluminum, outnumbering whatever jobs would be gained manufacturing the metals domestically.

Chief executive of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Tom Donahue wrote a letter to his board of directors on Thursday outlining the damage Trump’s trade policy could do to the economy. If the president ultimately decides to pull out of NAFTA, Donahue estimates as many as 2.6 million jobs could be lost. "The current approach – and the obvious retaliation that will occur in response – poses a serious risk of raising barriers and reducing Americans' access to vital global markets," Donahue wrote according to the Wall Street Journal, which reviewed the memo. "Our businesses will lose customers, workers will lose jobs, and American consumers will lose family income through higher taxes and higher prices."

4. America's relationship with its allies will tkae another massive hit

Trump's decision to impose tariffs on its allies is such a breach of protocol that the administration had to do it under the guise of national security, meaning the United States has labeled its closest allies a threat. "It is simply ridiculous to view any trade with Canada as a national security threat to the US and we will continue to stand up for Canadian workers & Canadian businesses," Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau tweeted on Thursday. Trudeau also said during a news conference that the tariffs mark "a turning point in the Canada-U.S. relationship."

3. American exporters will suffer

Canada, Mexico and the EU were none too pleased with the news that the Trump administration decided to lift the tariff exemptions, and they're not taking it lying down. Canada has already announced it will impose up to $12.8 billion in tariffs on American steel, aluminum, whiskey, orange juice and other products. "This is the strongest trade action Canada has taken in the post-war era," said Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland.

Yet in the same vein, a whole bunch of Sears stores are closing, amounting to thousand of jobs, blame it on technology and online shopping which will be the case for thousands of businesses, you can't compete with a warehouse waiting for it's goods to be shipped adverse to laying dormant on a store shelf. Our village idiot at the White House will try to convince the public that he can bring back jobs but too stupid to understand the fact that technology is what is actually killing many jobs already. Maybe we can go back to burning coal adverse to utilizing solar and wind energy, while destroying factory robots. laugh

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trumps-outdated-view-economy-002034964.html

Donald Trump is ’70s Man. He loves beauty pageants. He puts ketchup on his steak. And he thinks the surest signs of economic might are thriving smokestack industries churning out the raw materials for skyscrapers and locomotives.

Businesses and investors everywhere are on edge as Trump, himself a lifelong builder, is now attempting to translate his industrial-era economic worldview into action. Trump has promised to impose tariffs of 10% on all aluminum imports to the United States, and 25% on all steel imports. The stock market has wobbled on that news, and now Trump’s top economic adviser, former Goldman Sachs president Gary Cohn, has quit in frustration over Trump’s tariffs. Investors have viewed Cohn as the strongest bulwark against economic nationalism that could trigger damaging trade wars, and his departure will undoubtedly unnerve markets further.

“If you don’t have steel, you don’t have a country!” Trump tweeted, in all caps, on March 2. It’s also true that you don’t have a country, or at least a prosperous country, if you don’t have software, data centers, accounting firms and teachers. Yet Trump talks little, if at all, about the segments of the economy that are the biggest source of wealth and power these days. And he seems ready to risk damaging the economy to protect industries that represent a small and declining share of American production.

There was a time when political parties stop and listen to one another's views and came up with compromised which enhanced our economy, society and family but in the last 2 years, we are relegated to lies and vitriolic behavior along with racism that has polarize our country
to the extent that accuracy and truthfulness is becoming values of the past while being replace with Trump supporters who's narrowed mindedness always peg the untruthful meter.

These new tariffs will hurt our state, our energy industry, our economy. Not only does Texas import more steel and aluminum than any other state in the country but our two largest trading partners are Mexico and Canada.

I will stick my neck out and make a prediction. Trump will eventually walk away from the steel tariffs after cosmetic offers from EU etc., knowing that his base will have heard his posturing and disregard the subsequent moves.

Trumps tariffs are making us look like fools around the world. This is nothing short of horrible.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-...eptable-n879366

Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau on Friday slammed the White House claim that it was imposing new tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum to protect American national security interests.

"Our soldiers who had fought and died together on the beaches of World War II...and the mountains of Afghanistan, and have stood shoulder to shoulder in some of the most difficult places in the world, that are always there for each other, somehow — this is insulting to them," Trudeau said in an exclusive interview with "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd.

Number One Again: US Restores Top Ranking As Most Competitive Global Economy, As Democrats Fret
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/...conomy-n2487525

US voters will differ sharply on whether President Trump has 'made America great again,' but the economy over which he's presiding is undeniably on the upswing -- with several of his key policies playing essential roles in that comeback. The latest piece of data that fortifies America's renewed economic vigor is a surge in international competitiveness, as measured by a closely-watched annual ranking from a Switzerland-based think tank. Following tax reform's burst of hiring and growth, the United States has 'leapfrogged' back into the top slot (via Bloomberg):

The U.S. dethroned Hong Kong to retake first place among the world’s most competitive economies, thanks to faster economic growth and a supportive atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation, according to annual rankings by the Switzerland-based IMD World Competitiveness Center. The U.S., which reclaimed the No. 1 spot for the first time since 2015, scored especially well in international investment, domestic economy and scientific infrastructure sub-categories while earning below-average marks in public finance and prices. The renewed top ranking aligns with the positive U.S. growth narrative over the past year. Growth averaged 2.9 percent in the four quarters through March, versus 2 percent in the prior period.

Meanwhile, in addition to the fabulous May jobs report (which featured the lowest black unemployment rate ever recorded), US consumer confidence spiked to a 17-year high last month -- leading to a surge in consumer spending: "Americans’ spending gathered further momentum in April as incomes continued to rise, a sign consumers could drive stronger economic growth in the second quarter. Personal-consumption expenditures, a measure of household spending on everything from health care to magazines, increased a seasonally adjusted 0.6% in April from the prior month, the Commerce Department said Thursday. That was the largest increase in five months and above the 0.4% rise that economists...expected," the Wall Street Journal reports. The good news doesn't stop there. On President Trump's 500th day in office, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delivered a floor speech highlighting that more than one million American jobs have been created since the passage of tax reform:

"Since President Trump was elected alongside a Republican Congress, the number of Americans who say they’re optimistic about finding a good job has jumped by 25 percentage points. And small business owners report in record numbers that they’re optimistic about prospects of hiring new employees...But as impressive as some of these statistics may be, I think it’s important to keep in mind that these stories are -- at the end of the day -- human stories. More than one million new jobs have been created just since we passed tax reform last December. That’s not an abstract number...These aren’t just economic statistics. They are American men and women who have new chances to support their families and build their lives that they simply did not have under the policies of the previous administration. I’m glad we fought, won -- and will continue to win -- major accomplishments for the middle-class families we represent."

One million new jobs (and counting), a sizable portion of which the CBO attributes directly to the GOP tax law, which every single Democrat in Congress opposed -- making false, apocalyptic predictions to justify their hysterical, knee-jerk resistance. Like Hillary Clinton, they're being proven wrong by actual results, and they're responding with a 'repeal' tantrum. Repealing the tax cuts for middle class families (all income groups received a tax cut) would reduce incomes and hamper economic consequences. Repealing the business tax cuts, which restored American competitiveness, would claw back crucial progress on job creation and wage growth. It's not hard to tell that the robust economic news is now a source of alarm to election-minded Democrats. Here's tre hilarious spin:

The truth? "Jobs report raises GOP hopes for midterms, while worrying Dems:"

A strong jobs report on Friday bolstered the GOP’s argument that the economy is humming under President Trump, raising Republican optimism for the midterms. The economy added 223,000 jobs in May, a bigger than expected number that was coupled with news that unemployment had fallen to 3.8 percent. It extends the good economic news for Trump and the GOP, which has seen a series of favorable jobs reports this year...The president’s party almost always loses congressional seats in the first midterm. At the same time, some acknowledge the economy could help the GOP. “I do think this is the single biggest challenge, by far, faced by the Democrats, and it will determine whether we pick up 30 seats or 50 seats,” Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster, said of the economy. Democrats need to pick up 23 seats to win control of the House and two seats to seize the Senate. “We have to get ahead on the economy. We’re still behind today,” Lake added. Trump’s job approval rating has picked up this year, and the once-substantial lead that Democrats had on the generic congressional ballot has shrunk.

Why should voters trust Democrats on the economy? Their policies helped contribute to the 2008 meltdown, then choked what should have been a major bounceback with wasteful and destructive policies, leading to the slowest recovery since World War II. After that, they've railed against Republican-led progress, fighting it at every turn. If not for a unified GOP government, our economy would likely still be puttering along. Democrats see all this and wring their hands as Trump gets the credit, with 2018 polling moving accordingly:

I know what you’re thinking, that his numbers are rising and the Dems’ are falling because of Friday’s dynamite jobs report. Not really the case, as it turns out. Here’s Trump, who’s at 44.6 percent today, a number he hasn’t touched since March 12 of last year...In reality, though, only two polls of Trump’s job approval have been conducted since the jobs report came out. One was Rasmussen, which had him at 48 percent but which normally has him several points higher than other pollsters do. The other was Gallup, which put him at a ho-hum 41 percent. His 44.6 percent number is built on a trifecta of polls that came out *before* the jobs report: Reuters, YouGov, and Harvard-Harris all had him at 44-45 percent. And the generic ballot? Not a single poll has been published about that since Friday...Democrats are down to 43 percent even, nearly a full point lower than their next-lowest tally of the Trump era.

A blue wave may yet crash down on the GOP (this distinction is important, and references the late breaker effect that propelled Republicans to a smashing win in 2014), but the roaring economy is unquestionably buoying the GOP's chances.

UPDATE - More promising economic developments, suggesting that America's already-strong trajectory has room for even more improvement:

Now please address the reason that we have the highest rate of gun violence in our schools, why do we pay the highest healthcare premium compare to other countries? Why do we have the largest racial divide of most develop nations? Why does other countries possess the majority of scientists, engineers, technology genius? Seeing that you possess neither wealth or education, I think that your name failed to make this list of common wealth and education among American citizens. Yes you're just that gullible.

It's hilarious to watch you mimic trump who is currently embarrassed by the Philadelphia Eagle cancelling an appearance due to his racism. Presently he's touting the economy as we speaks but (Looking around) no Eagle player came to hear it. Please note a fact for you dullards, no Eagle player took a knee this past season yet FOX News embarrassed themselves by offering a picture of a teammate praying for an injured player...how low can you go? A rich White man with no friends or ethics, maybe his endeavors are to take you working stiff's money and give that to other rich White men. You've mentioned the term Capitalism? wink

Good News: The Booming Trump Economy Looks 'Unstoppable'
Matt Vespa

The Democrats said it couldn’t be done. Former President Obama said it takes more than waving a magic wand when it comes to job creation, which is rich because he was no wizard at job creation. With President Trump, jobs are being created. So many jobs—you won’t believe how many jobs. Three million since he was elected. Now, with a solid May jobs report—223,000 jobs created—behind him, the experts are coming around to the conclusion that the Trump economy is not just robust, but “unstoppable. Second quarter growth is projected to be anywhere between 3.6 and 4.6 percent. Put that in your pipe and smoke it (via CNBC):

In the face of persistent fears that the world could be facing a trade war and a synchronized slowdown, the U.S. economy enters June with a good deal of momentum.

Friday's data provided convincing evidence that domestic growth remains intact even if other developed economies are slowing. A better-than-expected nonfarm payrolls report coupled with a convincing uptick in manufacturing and construction activity showed that the second half approaches with a tail wind blowing.

"The fundamentals all look very solid right now," said Gus Faucher, chief economist at PNC. "You've got job growth and wage gains that are supporting consumer spending, and tax cuts as well. There's a little bit of a drag from higher energy prices, but the positives far outweigh that. Business incentives are in good shape."

The day started off with the payrolls report showing a gain of 223,000 in May, well above market expectations of 188,000, and the unemployment rate hitting an 18-year low of 3.8 percent.

Then, the ISM manufacturing index registered a 58.7 reading — representing the percentage of businesses that report expanding conditions — that also topped Wall Street estimates. Finally, the construction spending report showed a monthly gain of 1.8 percent, a full point higher than expectations.

[…]

Already, the Atlanta Fed's GDPNow tracker sees the second quarter rising by 4.8 percent. While the measure also was strongly optimistic on the first quarter as well, at one point estimating 5.4 percent growth, other gauges are positive as well. CNBC's Rapid Update, for instance, puts the April-to-June period at 3.6 percent.

So, yeah—passing that tax reform that has already benefitted over three million workers was terrible. The jobs numbers are awful. Of course, this is what Democrats think. They’re so engulfed in Trump Derangement Syndrome. They’ve become immobile. They looked at the initial poll numbers for the tax reform package. Yes, they were bad, but everyone knew they would get better. When the bonuses were doled out—averaging $1,000 and in some cases, $3,000, to workers, the polls shifted. Over 250 companies have benefitted from this bill. It’s created a better job-creating and investing climate. Small business and consumer confidence levels are at record highs. The president’s approval rating has been ticking up. The generic ballot advantage Democrats had over Republicans has shrunk to single-digits. And now, from the Labor Department, “For the first time on record, the number of American job openings exceeds the number of job seekers.”

Putting America First Has Made USA No. 1
Stephen Moore Stephen Moore |Posted: Jun 12, 2018 12:01 AM
The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not represent the views of Townhall.com.

The left is quickly running out of excuses for why Donald Trump's economic policies have caused a boom rather than the bust that they predicted with such great certainty.

Last year, when the U.S. economy began to percolate with faster growth, the media and other Trump haters argued that this simply reflected a pickup in worldwide growth: Trump was riding the wave of what economists were calling "synchronized growth."

But now what do they have to say? The latest indicators are that, as a Wall Street Journal headline reported on June 3: "Global Economic-Growth Story Fades." Japan's growth rate is estimated to have slowed to slightly negative in the first quarter. The European Union was at an anemic 0.4 percent. The pace of global growth is expected to be much slower over the next two years, according to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Then there is the outlier: the United States. Here at home, growth is sizzling. Almost all economists now predict a growth rate of above 4 percent for the second quarter of 2018, and Dan Clifton of Strategas, one of the best forecasters of recent times, believes we may hit 5 percent later this year. He points to the surge of investment capital flowing into the United States and how the increased business spending points to several more quarters of this torrid growth. Meanwhile, the rest of the world treads water.

So much for synchronized swimming.

Then there is the argument that Trump's policies have nothing to do with the American prosperity burst. Politico's economics reporter recently published a column insisting that the "GOP tax cut is not why (the) economy is booming." He contemptuously added, "Economist are rolling their eyes at candidates' claims (that Trump's policies inspired faster growth)." Which economists?

As it happens, this is the same gang that was dead wrong about the likelihood of growth in the first place. Now they argue that the tax cuts are just kicking in and can't account for the increased economic activity. But this ignores the anticipatory effect: Businesses are anticipating the tax bill's lower rates on their profits and investments and making decisions accordingly.

Whatever the cause, it is undeniable that America has a new spring in its step. After a decade of malaise, the American economy is the envy of the world today. A recent Bloomberg article reports: "The U.S. dethroned Hong Kong to retake first place among the world's most competitive economies, thanks to faster economic growth and a supportive atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation, according to annual rankings by the Switzerland-based IMD World Competitiveness Center."

But the ultimate judges of all this are the American people -- the voters. They know something big is going on here.

In the years before the 2016 election, about 3 in 10 voters described the economy as good or great. This year, 7 in 10 do. That surge in optimism began immediately after Trump's election and hasn't subsided. The same trend is true for the confidence of small businesses and manufacturing businesses. Up, up and away.

Perhaps the best news of all is to think that maybe Trump's critics are right that the economic thrust from the tax cut hasn't even kicked in yet. If that's true, then buckle up, because we're in for a hell of a ride.

A little tidbit of reality, America has been #1 for decades, why do you think immigrants come here? but in the last 18 months our credibility as decent neighbors to Canada, Europe etc. has taken a huge hit due to your boy Donald J. Trump extraordinaire, you know, the master of destruction, 3500 lies, turning Washington upside down and inside out, so if you find these attributes to be redeeming, you just confirm what we smart Liberals knew all along, it doesn't take much to impress some people and their expectations are so low that a senior in high school has a better deposition and intelligence to run this country far greater than Trump.

The Trump Doctrine: 'We're America, Bitch'
Matt Vespa Matt Vespa |

If there is one field where the liberal news media gets all paranoid and totally out of control, it’s foreign policy in the age of Trump. The president is going to start a nuclear war because he tweets. Did anyone really believe that who wasn’t an addict of MSNBC (or is it MSDNC)? He’s not a madman. In fact, President Trump was given much credit by South Korea for brining North Korea to the negotiating table. Discussions about denuclearization and a peace treaty to end the Korean War were also discussed. Kim Jong-un, the murderous dictator of North Korea, also ventured onto South Korean soil to meet President Moon Jae-in, a first since the end of the Korean War. No nuclear war started. At the G-7 Summit in Quebec, yeah—there was some consternation about President Trump’s anti-Obama attitude towards the whole conference. Europe’s balking at U.S. trade policy, which includes tariffs, is a significant point of contention. Long story short; Trump threw a grenade into the dojo of the liberal international order.

If there is also one field for the elite, the condescending slice of America’s academics who were laid waste in 2016, to gripe and moan about the president, it’s foreign policy. The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg wrote a piece about what’s emerging as the Trump Doctrine, which has so far been amorphous and unable to be described. That’s partially how the president wants it, but it could be summed up in three words: “we’re America, bitch,” though this was one of three summations he could best describe after speaking with experts in this field—and with Trump officials:

The Brookings Institution scholar (and frequent Atlantic contributor) Thomas Wright argued in a January 2016 essay that Trump’s views are both discernible and explicable. Wright, who published his analysis at a time when most everyone in the foreign-policy establishment considered Trump’s candidacy to be a farce, wrote that Trump loathes the liberal international order and would work against it as president; he wrote that Trump also dislikes America’s military alliances, and would work against them; he argued that Trump believes in his bones that the global economy is unfair to the U.S.; and, finally, he wrote that Trump has an innate sympathy for “authoritarian strongmen.”

[…]

The third-best encapsulation of the Trump Doctrine, as outlined by a senior administration official over lunch a few weeks ago, is this: “No Friends, No Enemies.” This official explained that he was not describing a variant of the realpolitik notion that the U.S. has only shifting alliances, not permanent friends. Trump, this official said, doesn’t believe that the U.S. should be part of any alliance at all. “We have to explain to him that countries that have worked with us together in the past expect a level of loyalty from us, but he doesn’t believe that this should factor into the equation,” the official said.

The second-best self-description of the Trump Doctrine I heard was this, from a senior national-security official: “Permanent destabilization creates American advantage.” The official who described this to me said Trump believes that keeping allies and adversaries alike perpetually off-balance necessarily benefits the United States, which is still the most powerful country on Earth. When I noted that America’s adversaries seem far less destabilized by Trump than do America’s allies, this official argued for strategic patience. “They’ll see over time that it doesn’t pay to argue with us.”

The best distillation of the Trump Doctrine I heard, though, came from a senior White House official with direct access to the president and his thinking. I was talking to this person several weeks ago, and I said, by way of introduction, that I thought it might perhaps be too early to discern a definitive Trump Doctrine.

“No,” the official said. “There’s definitely a Trump Doctrine.”

“What is it?” I asked. Here is the answer I received:

“The Trump Doctrine is ‘We’re America, Bitch.’ That’s the Trump Doctrine.”

[…]

I asked this official to explain the idea. “Obama apologized to everyone for everything. He felt bad about everything.” President Trump, this official said, “doesn’t feel like he has to apologize for anything America does.” I later asked another senior official, one who rendered the doctrine not as “We’re America, Bitch” but as “We’re America, Bitches,” whether he was aware of the 2004 movie Team America: World Police, whose theme song was “America, F**k Yeah!”

“Of course,” he said, laughing. “The president believes that we’re America, and people can take it or leave it.”

Donald J. Trump
✔
@realDonaldTrump
Sorry, we cannot let our friends, or enemies, take advantage of us on Trade anymore. We must put the American worker first!

Goldberg adds that Wright’s analysis was “prophetic,” as Trump is supposedly cozying up to strongmen, which, by the way, is not an unprecedented move in American foreign policy history. He also notes that maybe there is some inherent quality to it, though Goldberg also says that there’s a delusional aspect to it in the sense that it could end up weakening America by “demoralizing freedom-seeking people around the world.”

This isn’t shocking. America First—how many times was that said on the trail, the inauguration, and even in some speeches today? There’s a new sheriff in town. He’s not Obama. He’s a cheerleader for the nation, and yeah—it’s a take it or leave it proposition. I don’t mind this. I don’t mind “we’re America, bitch.” The country wanted a bomb thrower, someone who would shake the system. That is Donald J. Trump. It’s also an easily marketed and understood message to his base. Let’s coast with this. I don’t mind bonfires. I like watching things burn from time to time and Europe should be wary of trying to go at it alone.

Obama did not praise Castro the way that Trump is praising Kim.

As bad as the Castro regime was, it was not half as bad as North Korea.

On top of that, Trumps fight with Canada is appalling.

Sorry you lost that spin when Obama became buddies with Castro. blush
Obama did not praise Castro the way that Trump is praising Kim.

As bad as the Castro regime was, it was not half as bad as North Korea.

On top of that, Trumps fight with Canada is appalling.

After a long awaited report, Donald Trump will have to regroup in what he thought would be a scathing rebuke of James Comey but find that Comey only managed to hurt Hillary, which was her criticism and premise the day after the national election. Over the next hours and days, watch what made Donald the "spin miester" while his followers await their new orders.

August 8 2016 Strzok-Page texts

Page: [Trump’s] not ever going to become President, right? Right?!

Strzok: No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.

Texts from two agents, actively investigating Hillary, and having an extramarital affair. Yet, even with this, Dems will still argue until their death that the FBI is an above-board, legitimate organization, with no political bias, doing the best that they could in a difficult situation; the problem is Trump, not the FBI; Trumps the corrupt one.

And to make matters worse, the last part, Strzok's reply, had been intentionally left out of all previous reports to Congress. Nope, no corruption here; move along.

LOL, Let the spin begin
Kinda of like the adage of making Obama a one term president and the Russians involving themselves in our election. I welcome your position but somehow any spin changes the current tactics and action s of Trump...unless you're implying the "Hillary and Comey made me crooked" laugh

Now for your ignorance, why did Comey reopen the probe? rogue FBI agents were to be held accountable for their personal actions but hoping not to compromise the Russian investigation or does this report bring that to an end? whistle

The focused hypocrisy on your part is to get frustrated because the report has not the impact or outcome you wanted but simultaneously, the reports and investigative info levied against Trump's is construed as "FAKE" news Now which is it son? Lastly, Trump won the presidency didn't he? but no explanation as what he brought to the White House in regard to Russian activity. Credibility is credibility.

HA!!! love it when you've deemed yourself the winner of this debate, Trump won the presidency but therein lies the entire 16 month investigation son, what is Trump hiding when all he has to do is answer the question asked him by Meuller, thus back to square one, a presidential race lost by 3 million votes and the possibility that the Russians altered the outcome. Now do you comprehend? With this full fledged trend ongoing, we may go into the midterms with the proverbial question on the minds of smart voters. Now who the smarter one here, trump or the voters? Apparently the voters who did not vote for trump. You do know that Trump is being investigated, right?
Comprehension seems to be YOUR weakness not mines. whistle

It’s Undeniable: Trump Is Blessed With Really Stupid Enemies
Kurt Schlichter |Posted: Jul 16, 2018 12:01 AM
The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not represent the views of Townhall.com.

Donald Trump goes to Europe, scandalizes the Euroweenies, libs, and cruise-shilling grifters of Never Trump, and comes back victorious. He’s about to get his second SCOTUS justice confirmed – all they have on Brett Kavanaugh is that he likes beer and is named “Brett.” In Congress, the Democrats decided to go all in on abolishing ICE because Americans love open borders and welcome MS-13 or something. In the Mueller farce, the Dems decided that the smart play was to publicly run interference for creepy weirdo Peter Strzok when he went on national TV doing his impression of Lotion Boy from Silence of the Lambs.

Hey Pete, what do those Trump voters smell like? Smells like a red wave to me, you insipid weirdo.

How did Trump luck out by getting such hopeless geebos for opponents? It can’t just be chance. At every turn, these dummies choose to lock themselves into the most implausible and indefensible positions imaginable, then push all their chips into the center of the table. It’s almost supernatural – maybe Trump won the intervention of some ancient demon by heading over to the offices of the Weekly Standard and snatching away one of its Never Trump scribblers to use as a virgin sacrifice.

Look, I was not a Trump fan at the beginning – I was anti-Trump but never Never Trump, both because I was Never Hillary and because I wasn’t a Beltway squishboy who would take his white paper and go home when my guy Ted Cruz lost. I just had no idea what to make of Trump at first because he didn’t look like any mainstream Republican I had seen in the last few decades. But then, I soon realized that he didn’t look like any mainstream Republican I had seen in the last few decades because he wasn’t a hapless loser. He was the anti-Jeb!.

I recount my conversion (hilariously, according to such blurb writers as Nick Searcy and David Limbaugh) from being anti-Trump to Trump-curious to pro-Trump in my upcoming book Militant Normals: How Regular Americans Are Rebelling Against the Elite to Reclaim Our Democracy, except I give a lot more detail and use a lot more swears in there. Suffice it to say that my conversion (and that of many others) was based on the undeniable fact that Trump kept his promises and sided with America in a way we haven’t seen from a Republican since Reagan was owning the libs back in the eighties.

How did this guy win, and in doing so crush the avatar of the establishment, the smartest woman in the world, Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit? One of his secrets to success is really no secret at all. It is to embrace the obvious. Unlike our exhausted establishment, Trump rarely holds to bizarre, indefensible positions. You would think that would be an instinctive thing for politicians of both parties – “I know! I’ll adopt stands on issues that won’t make my constituents ask ‘What the hell is wrong with you?’” – but it isn’t. Instead, the establishment has somehow talked itself into taking positions that are so clearly ridiculous that Normals scratch their heads, baffled at what they are being told by their betters via the lapdog liberal media.

Look at NATO. The entire foreign policy establishment is scandalized that Trump says he expects the Europeans to cover their fair share of the NATO nut. Now a normal American is going to think “Yeah, I think they ought to pay their share of their own defense. Sounds reasonable.” But the establishment collectively wets itself – “HE’S DESTROYING THIS ESSENTIAL ALLIANCE BY ASKING THE PEOPLE BENEFITING FROM IT MOST TO ACTUALLY PARTICIPATE IN IT!”

And the Normals (many of whom, like me, actually served in NATO) wonder, “Well, if it’s so essential, why aren’t the allies eager to pay for it?” And the establishment responds, “SHUT UP, RUSSIAN STOOGE! ASKING THE ALLIES TO MAKE NATO MORE EFFECTIVE BY PAYING WHAT THEY PROMISED, WHICH IS STILL A FRACTION OF WHAT THE U.S. PAYS, IS PLAYING RIGHT INTO PUTIN’S HANDS. ALSO, THE EMOLUMENTS CLAUSE SOMEHOW.”

Okay, as an expert on arguments, I must observe that this is a losing argument. Now, I’m not relying on my expertise gained from a quarter century of convincing juries to go my way to say that. I don’t need to. I’m relying on the fact I have actually met normal Americans. This is such a facially idiotic argument that only someone in the establishment could talk himself into believing it.

Here’s a test. Leave DC or New York, drive a few hours out to America, find a random guy on the street and ask, “Hey, don’t you think it’s awful that Trump wants our allies to increase their contributions to their own defense to just about half of what the U.S. pays?” You can safely assume he’ll respond, “Wait, why only half?”

The Normal/Elite disconnect was also in full effect regarding the new SCOTUS dude. The establishment decided it’s going to bork Brett by pointing out that he bought baseball tickets and apparently liked beer in college, like there’s not a significant portion of Americans who wouldn’t be thrilled to have their next justice be nicknamed “Kegmaster K.” And what’s the new fussiness about alcohol, or are they upset because he quaffs brewskis (RUSSIANS!) instead of guzzling chardonnay? The Dems weren’t so picky about partying in 2016 when Stumbles McMyTurn was staggering all over the map.

Well, not in Wisconsin.

Then the establishment attacked Brett’s family for looking like a normal family instead of a traveling freak show. The Kavanaugh kids didn’t have nose rings or teen tatts, and they presumably know which bathroom to use. This, to the establishment, is unforgiveable. To Normal Americans, this constant social warfare against people who don’t want to be sketchy mutants is just more inspiration for more militancy.

The Democrats have also decided that they want to go into November on the platform of abolishing ICE and opening the borders to future Democrat voters from festering Third World hellholes. Perhaps they didn’t read the polls, but Normal Americans – the ones not appearing on CNN, working for Soros-funded agitator collectives, or in college squandering their dads’ money on degrees in Oppression Studies – actually like borders. If Trump’s brain trust gathered together in his palatial Mar-a-Lago estate to concoct a scheme to get the Democrat Party to adopt the most tone-deaf possible platform, they could not have drafted one better than what the Democrats have created for themselves. The Dems ought to be required to report everything they have done lately to the Federal Elections Commission as an in-kind donation to the Republicans in 2018.

And then there is the Mueller/ FBI/Collusion/Treason charade, which has normal people asking, “Is that still a thing?” Yeah, kind of, though it becomes less thingy every day as it becomes obvious that Sad Bassett Hound Mueller and the Conflict-of-Interest Crew’s got no-thing.

The establishment is convinced that Peter Strzok came out of that hearing not looking like a guy who probably has a sex dungeon in his basement. But he totally looked like he has a sex dungeon in his basement, thereby launching a thousand memes of him leering, smirking, and generally channeling Paul Lynde.

Despite the best efforts of borderline mental defectives like Ted Lieu and whoever that dork was who wanted to give Strzok a Purple Heart, this paragon of the establishment came off to Normals as exactly who he is – a skeevy bureaucrat who delights in jamming up other people with the rules he ignores. The FBI Motto is “Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity,” and that married serial sexting hack blew two of those just by cavorting with his gal pal. He and his establishment supporters somehow think Normals aren’t going to figure out that if his wife can’t trust him not to nail the chick at the next desk, we can’t trust his explanation for why he didn’t nail the woman with classified material all over her emails who was supposed to be the next president.

One of the secrets of Trump’s success is having really, really stupid enemies, enemies who are so tone-deaf and out-of-touch that they simply cannot adopt commonsense positions that resonate among normal Americans. The establishment instead insists on telling Americans that up is down, black is white, and girls can have penises. Nope. No wonder the Normals have gotten militant, and no wonder a leader like Donald Trump came along with the vision to exploit the opening the establishment left for an outsider to rise and prevail by embracing the obvious.

With political polarization in the US reaching a fever pitch under Donald Trump’s presidency, some Americans have joked that a second civil war could breakout. Townhall’s Kurt Schlichter has taken the idea a step further, however, by actually fantasizing about a second American civil war.

While Schlichter is known for writing bloody war-fantasy literature in the style of erotic Tumblr fan fiction, you can tell the former Army colonel really got the juices flowing in his latest column, titled, “Why Democrats Would Lose the Second Civil War, Too” — which reads like the The Turner Diaries if William Luther Pierce‘s target audience was barely literate, involuntarily celibate survivalists.

4. Schlichter using his own fiction book as evidence that suburban old men with AR-15s from Dick’s Sporting Goods could defeat the US military:

“As my recent novel illustrates, American guerillas with small arms are a deadly threat to the forces of a dictatorship.”

And by us listening to the views even of those who we violently disagree with – that sends a signal to the world that we are going to turn the page on the failed diplomacy that the Bush Administration has practiced for so long."
Well said Obama. But that is certainly not what Trump did. He praised Putin over our intelligence agencies, did he not? Trump didn't just listen to Putin. he praised him. And why a closed meeting? Who knows what Trump said then?

I agree with a portion of your narrative 'Nothing changes" We've known for years that we have Americans with no particular agenda but to destroy, obstruct and complain, in this case you've gave notice that you're one of those individuals, who have only complaints and no solutions. What's the old saying Lucky? "When one has no expectation, one will never be disappointed because failure is always their reward" So glad that I stand on principle, ethics and doing your best, something our current administration has fallen very short on.

A majority of Americans, 68 percent, consider Russia either unfriendly or an enemy of the United States, according to a new NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll.

That's a 9 percent increase from one year ago, when 59 percent of Americans said they considered Russia either unfriendly or an enemy, signaling that attitudes toward Russia have worsened amid President Donald Trump's administration and the federal probe into Moscow's interference in the 2016 election.

The Final Air Force One Budget is Here and Trump Just Saved Taxpayers a Ton of Money

The United States government has reached a final deal with Boeing to build two brand new Air Force One airplanes.

In 2016 shortly after winning the White House, President Trump publicly berated the company for what he believed was overcharging taxpayers. He also threatened to cancel the order.

Now, an official agreement is on paper.

"Yesterday, the United States Air Force awarded a firm fixed price contract to The Boeing Company to design, modify, test, certify, and deliver two Presidential, mission-ready aircraft by 2024. Formal replacement efforts began in 2011 and the new aircraft will replace the current Air Force One planes that are now 31 years old," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement Wednesday. "The contract sets the total price for the two completed “Air Force One” replacement aircraft at $3.9 billion, saving the taxpayers over $1.4 billion from the initially proposed $5.3 billion cost-plus contract."

"President Donald J. Trump has emphasized the need to minimize the cost of replacing the two existing Air Force One aircraft," Sanders continued. "Yesterday’s action meets that objective and reflects the President’s commitment to our military and to protecting taxpayer dollars."

President Trump said over the weekend the new planes will be painted red, white and blue. The current design, marine blue, gold and white, was implemented during the Kennedy administration.

Why We Never Get Tired of Winning and Never Trumpers Never Get Tired of Losing
Kurt Schlichter

So, that whole Carter Page FISA warrant thing really went well for the Russia/Trump/Treason/Emoluments Clause Crew – not. The FISA warrant’s probable cause consisted of the urinary dossier which led to Yahoo News stories and back to the urinary dossier in a perfect circle of hackery. It was less probable cause than probable fraud. Basically, the libs backed themselves into defending the notion that it’s cool to use the intelligence community to spy on rivals because of course they should be able to use the intelligence community to spy on rivals because Trump is literally Hitler. As was Romney, and McCain, and all the Bushes, and as will be every Republican presidential aspirant in the future regardless of what he has binders full of. Sounds legit. No wonder those of us who keep saying, “Buy guns and ammunition because the citizenry needs to have a counter-balance to a corrupt establishment’s monopoly on force in society” are now saying, “See, we toldja so.” But that dumb hill is only the latest dumb hill the Never Trump goofs have chosen to die on.

It’s like Groundhog Day with them – every morning they wake up fussy and failing, then every night they go to bed, alone with all their friends, having pushed the latest TRUMP DID THE WORST THING EVER meme only to wake up fussy and failing in the same Trumpian hell again the next morning. Except instead of being funny, they are sad. And instead of waking up to Sonny & Cher crooning “I Got You Babe,” they wake up to Beck singing “Loser.” And it’s dedicated to them.

Look on the bright side, Never Trumpers. Your inability to sell cruises all ends in January 2025. I mean, unless Don Junior wants to take a pay cut.

Ouch. That seems to have made you sad. Maybe another Zima will wash away the pain.

Here’s the reality. In 2016, Normal Americans rebelled against an establishment composed of liberal fascists in government and a hateful cultural elite, as well as their allegedly conservative kept boys who placed their personal positions and prosperity above the people’s interests. As my upcoming book Militant Normals: How Regular Americans Are Rebelling Against the Elite to Reclaim Our Democracy recounts, in the kind of clear, unrestrained prose that goes hand-in-hand with not having to be FCC-language compliant, how the rise of Donald Trump was the inevitable result of a cultural war where our side was desperate for a fighter who would actually take up our banner and win. Remember how Abe Lincoln had to prune the deadwood in the Union Army before he could find a general to lead the fight against the Democrats the last time they tried to win a civil war? Like Ulysses S. Grant, Donald Trump is imperfect, but he fights and he wins.

Remember Trump’s Apocalypse Helsinki? Me neither. What, wasn’t that like a long time ago, you know, around 1 B.S. – Before Stormy? I can’t seem to keep all the things that were finally going to do in Trump straight.

Instead, his tally of wins just keeps growing. Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit is stumbling about her empty mansion in her sexy mumus, tripping over her empty Crown Royal bottles and her broken dreams. The economy is revving up. ISIS is revving down, and the Iraqis are hanging the few dirtbags we bothered capturing. Deregulation is in effect, while gun control isn’t.

On and on goes the list. At this point, Billy Joel could even turn it into one of his terrible songs:

Mueller can’t get evidence to impeach,

The Dem’s Blue Wave falls out of reach,

Paris Accords go down the drain,

Unleashed ICE deals the pain,

SCOTUS, Keystone, a big tax cut,

#MeToo bites Hollywood on the butt,

We’ll never tire of winning…

You get the idea, and if you don’t, go ask your dad who Billy Joel is. (Spoiler: His music was the inspiration for The Handmaid’s Tale).

Donald Trump was incorrect when he promised that we would get tired of all the winning – well, not really incorrect since he was joking. No, we are not tiring of winning. Not even close. Trump, unlike those foes he has vanquished, actually understands Americans. He knows we won’t ever tire of winning because Americans consider winning to be our natural state.

That fact, as Militant Normals viciously and profanely argues, highlights the great difference between American Normals and the elite that seeks to govern them. Normal Americans expect to win – they demand it, because winning is what Americans do. We believe, deeply, that we are better than every other nation and culture on earth, largely based upon the fact that we are. American exceptionalism is the core of our identity. If you ain’t American, you ain’t Adam Schiff.

This is not braggadocio or delusion. We are right to believe it because it is objectively true. Living abroad confirms it, and many of us Normals have spent years abroad, mostly in uniform, cleaning up foreigners’ messes.

But our elites, the snooty people who are supposed to be taking care of our institutions and making them work smoothly for everyone else (in return for prestige, power, and material renumeration) no longer believe in American exceptionalism. This is largely the fault of academia, which the elite controls, training future elitists that their own countrymen suck and that their loyalty should be to an unelected transnational class of like-minded snobs with glowing credentials but no track record of success in actually accomplishing the basic tasks that elites are supposed to accomplish.

And when the society the elite has so woefully mismanaged predictably manifests problems, they don’t look in the mirror and say, “Whoa, we’re screwing up. We had better do a deep personal inventory to correct our shortcomings.” No, they blame the very people on whose behalf they are supposed to be running things. The elite can’t possibly be at fault; it’s got to be that America is flawed. And therefore, losing should be our natural state, because Americans are undeserving of winning.

Yeah, no.

Pay attention, elites. We have considered your kind offer of decline and failure and we have rejected it. Our counteroffer is that we shall continue winning. This is non-negotiable.

See, we Normal Americans like winning, so we’re going to keep on winning. And anyone who doesn’t like it can always try to bring the losing again tomorrow.

Good luck with that.

ROARING: GDP Climbs Above 4 Percent Under Trump
Katie Pavlich

The economy under President Trump is roaring and fresh GDP numbers prove it.

According to data released by the Commerce Department Friday morning, U.S. GDP has climbed to 4.1 percent, finally breaking through years of Obama administration stagnation.

"Real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018, according to the 'advance' estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 2.2 percent," the Commerce Department released. "The increase in real GDP in the second quarter reflected positive contributions from personal consumption expenditures (PCE), exports, nonresidential fixed investment, federal government spending, and state and local government spending that were partly offset by negative contributions from private inventory investment and residential fixed investment. Imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, increased."

On the 2016 campaign trail, Trump vowed to bring the economy back to at least four percent growth. Today, that promise has been kept.

Earlier this week, Trump predicted during a workforce development round table at Northeast Iowa Community College that big numbers would be announced today.

"On Friday, the numbers come out, and I don’t know what they are, but there are predictions from 3.8 to 5.3 [percent]. And if somebody would have said that when I was running, if I would have ever even thought that -- you know I've been saying -- frankly, I've been saying we're going to do awfully well, but nobody thought we were going to be this great. We've already hit 3.2 percent," Trump said. "When I took over, those numbers were bad, and they were heading in the wrong direction because of regulation. Really, the taxes were too high. People were leaving the country. Companies were leaving the country. Jobs were -- forget it, they were really being abandoned. And other countries, frankly, were taking advantage of the United States."

Real winning looks like this:

From: http://thehill.com/homenews/administrati...n-of-korean-war

President Trump on Friday thanked North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for “fulfilling a promise” by returning the remains of U.S. soldiers killed in the Korean War.

“At this moment a plane is carrying the remains of some great fallen heroes from America back from the Korean War, they’re coming back to the United States,” Trump said during remarks at the White House focused on the economy.

“I want to thank Chairman Kim for keeping his word,” the president said. “We have many others coming, but I want to thank Chairman Kim in front of the media for fulfilling a promise he made to me. And I’m sure he will continue to fulfill that promise as they search and search and search.”A U.S. military plane departed North Korea on Thursday with the remains, bringing them to a U.S. base in South Korea. The plane is now on its way to the U.S.

Trump said Friday that Vice President Pence will greet families of soldiers killed in the Korean War when the flight from South Korea arrives.

The return of the remains was one of several agreements reached between the two countries during Trump’s summit with Kim in Singapore earlier this year.

Seeing that you have not the intellectual fortitude to define economic success as a whole, you tend to forgo tariffs, tax cuts, inflation and any entity that off set our actual spending power. In laymen terms, were you able to buy a new vehicle, go on vacation, build up your saving account, pay off your mortgage and credit cards etc. or in your case, attempt to brag about a dysfunctional president who's action s failed to impact you in any positive way but so uneducated and unintelligent to understand Trump's base "He loves the stupid and poor White" remember that statement? And I’m sure he will continue to fulfill that promise as they search and search and search.”A U.S. military plane departed North Korea on Thursday with the remains, bringing them to a U.S. base in South Korea. The plane is now on its way to the U.S.

Trump said Friday that Vice President Pence will greet families of soldiers killed in the Korean War when the flight from South Korea arrives.

The return of the remains was one of several agreements reached between the two countries during Trump’s summit with Kim in Singapore earlier this year.
Never get tired of WINNING grin
He better do any winning now because he will be the world biggest loser after Muellers report comes out or the after the November elections whichever comes first.

According to Sarah Sanders The President “is open to visiting Moscow upon receiving a formal invitation.”

It took him just a few hours to say 'Yes'.

Meanwhile it's been 5 Months and he has yet to agree to meet with Robert Mueller to 'clear his name"...

I wonder why.

Myself and kyle have presented factual submissions on Trump's screw ups but after an hour's time span ,you've failed to offer any factual advantages for yourself....like I expect anything in the first place. See son, life has a certain degree of logic to it, if you have a high paying job, your lifestyle reflects it. In your case, all we hear is what Trump is doing but the logic or results and actions bearing and confirming it is negated..why son? could it be that all you have is PROPAGANDA?

Bottom line GW BUSH and Obama's few policies gave me my wealth, now comes along the worse president in modern time and somehow you expect us to believe that his actions mimicking Bush's failures will somehow work this time around. I'll play it safe and protect my assets while you falsely hope to garner some. Webster define you as a fool, because time and time again you keep doing the same thing but unexpectedly you're getting similar results. Wise people, work on logic and trends, not whims and impulses.

LOL, If it reaches even higher, what does it do for my portfolio son? You got it, I get even richer, now adversely, if Trump's policies causes war, more out of pocket expenses in regard utilities, gas, oil, TVs,PCs,cars, trucks, mortgage interest rates, who pays? Clearly you're so head strong to convince us how great our economy is, you can't comprehend the issues most important for intelligent individuals. Your narrowed minded views can't wrap itself around daily personal life issues........Apparently you just revealed your lifestyle and how menial it is.

CNN analyst Carl Bernstein said Friday it would be “very, very damaging” for President Trump if he knew about his son’s meeting with Russians in Trump Tower before it happened.

Bernstein, the former Washington Post reporter who broke the Watergate story, reported on Thursday that Trump’s former longtime attorney Michael Cohen says Trump had prior knowledge about the June 2016 meeting between his campaign officials and Russians.

“It would be a stunning development if the president of the United States — then about to become the nominee of his party — knew of that meeting in advance because the meeting itself that did take place suggests a kind of collusion in the sense that those present expected to receive information from the Russian participants,” Bernstein said.

“If the president knew about this in advance, it is a very, very damaging piece of information, especially while he and his campaign are under investigation by the special prosecutor,” he added.

Seven Data Points That Show President Trump's Economy is Booming
Katie Pavlich Katie Pavlich

President Trump has been touting his administration's economic achievements as he campaigns around the country, through the White House press shop and on Twitter.

Presidential Approval numbers are very good - strong economy, military and just about everything else. Better numbers than Obama at this point, by far. We are winning on just about every front and for that reason there will not be a Blue Wave, but there might be a Red Wave!

But the talk of roaring success is backed up by hard numbers, not simply President Trump's claims.

1. Unemployment is down

6. Wages are increasing

U.S. workers saw the largest increase in wages and benefits since September 2008, according to a new report from the Labor Department on Tuesday.

The employment cost index, a gauge of total compensation for civilian workers, increased 0.6% in the second quarter. The cost of pay and benefits jumped 2.8% in the 12-month period ended in June, the highest yearly growth rate in nearly a decade.

Wages alone gained 2.8% over the past 12 months, which also reflected a near 10-year high.

7. The DOW continues its record run

But wages are flat as people must work two and three jobs to makes ends meet. The tax cut went mostly to the top 1%. The Republicans have destroyed unions so the worker has no bargaining power. Rich guys like Manafort hide their money overseas but at least we caught one of them

Now that you've clean yourself up from the spit and slobber from being so animated, Chris could have cleaned up or define his statement but I find you so hypocritical due to your silence in regard to a man who is destroying the other 49 states. If you read his speech, America isn't really that great when we see people as yourself who can't find it in their vocabulary or mentality to get off their arrogant White hearts by allowing every race, color, ethnicity, gender and whom ever to all enjoy the life promised to ALL Americans. Your difficulties lie in fact that you believe and live in the old antiquated recesses of White men ruling the world. Cuomo, being the descendant of Italian immigrant realizes the fact that we will have a great America when people as yourself go back to the holes and rocks you hid under for decades but crawl out of when Trump came along to attempt to take us back 100 years...…FACT SON, this is 2018 and better than half of the country is now darker and smarter than yourself HHMMMMM I guess I would be upset with facing my potential demise as well. whistle

Trump Campaign to Cuomo: The President Has ‘Eternal Optimism’ For The Country, You Should Get Some
Matt Vespa
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/...t-some-n2510408

So, we appear to be having a contest this week between the Cuomo brothers concerning who can outdo the other in saying the dumbest thing. CNN’s Chris Cuomo defended Antifa’s violence against police and reporters last weekend, which held a counter-rally to the Alt-Right’s pathetic gathering in Washington D.C. Only around 30 of these white nationalist pieces of trash showed up. With no one to fight, Antifa turned on the press. In Cuomo’s eyes, both sides are wrong to engage in violence, but “It's not about being right in the eyes of the law, but you also have to know what's right and wrong and immoral…That's why people who show up to fight against bigots are not to be judged the same as the bigots, even if they do resort to the same petty violence.”

Oh, so there are bad people on both sides? Remind me who said that again? It was a mess of a commentary, wholly subjective, and could easily lead to some insufferable liberal in Hillary-land to view a pro-life American, or any person with a differing point of view, as a bigot who deserves to get punched in the face. It was total nonsense, but the Cuomo ring on insanity was not done. Chris’s brother, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, trashed America yesterday, saying it was never great because that’s a real winner in political messaging. Cortney has more:

"We're not going to make America great again," Cuomo said at an event for women and girls. "It was never that great."

[…]

"We have not reached greatness," he continued. "We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged. We will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women, 51 percent of our population, is gone."

The pandering is pathetic, but America was never great? Are you kidding me? This perfectly captures how liberals feel about America, and why it’s refreshing that for the first time in nearly a decade we have a cheerleader for the country in the Oval Office; George W. Bush was the same way when he was in office. So, when scores of volunteers cleaned up the debris around ground zero after the 9/11 terror attacks, wept for the fallen, and came together as a nation to show that no act of radical Islamic terrorism could splinter us, we weren’t great. When our forces stormed Normandy and drove the Nazis across Europe in the name of freedom and liberty, America was not great? When America continually clinches the top spot in which nation is the most charitable, that’s not great?

In the minds of liberals, we’re living on the verge of the apocalypse. Why? It’s because their side lost the 2016 election. You guys lost. Get over it. For the rest of us, just because you lose doesn’t meant we’re in the throes of a constitutional crisis, you petulant, condescending cancers of society. With the economy growing, and paychecks rising, things are pretty great. Three million jobs created, the highest consumer and small business confidence ratings in years, and the largest worker pay increase in a decade. Over three million workers from working families got a bonus check averaging $1,000 and over 250 companies have benefitted from the Trump tax cuts. Unemployment is at an 18-year low; black unemployment hit historic lows.

The Trump campaign surely didn’t let Gov. Cuomo’s remarks slip under the radar. Lara Trump, Senior Adviser to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., released a statement saying:

Andrew Cuomo showed his true, pessimistic colors when he defamed America as a country that was ‘never that great.’ Yet, the vast majority of Americans believe in America as the ‘last best hope of earth.’ America is not only the most prosperous and generous country to ever exist; it has lifted millions out of poverty and continuously sacrifices for the freedom of others. And President Trump is leading us on the path to greatness like we’ve never seen before, with a booming economy that’s creating millions of jobs, record unemployment and wage growth, the lowest female unemployment in 65 years; as well as new paths to peace, and so much more. Donald Trump’s eternal optimism about America is what people value in a leader committed to delivering real solutions for our country

Three words, folks: Keep America Great!

***

UPDATE: MSNBC took Cuomo to the woodshed for his America sucks remarks, noting how it glosses over great moments in American history. And if this was an attempt to channel your inner-left-winger, it was a total disaster:

I know your boy avoid these issue like the plague due to the fact that he is reported to be pedophile himself. Continue to tout America is great because the DOW is high but most decent people place ethics, family values and happiness above money. Your problem son is your exposure of ignorances as to what truly make us a great nation. Question BOY, If money makes one so happy, why is it that we have the richest president in history but the same is most miserable?

A narcissist

Former CBS News Reporter Delivers Kill Shot to Liberal Media Narrative That Trump Is Silencing John Brennan

Former CBS News Reporter Delivers Kill Shot to Liberal Media Narrative That Trump Is Silencing John Brennan

Former CIA Director John Brennan no longer has a security clearance. It’s been revoked. He’s out of the club. Oh, and you bet the liberal news media was all over this, once again going into meltdown mode over something that was perfectly within the president’s authority. But like with anything that Trump does, we're always on the verge of a total constitutional crisis…in CNN-land. Guy also wrote that Brennan’s pervasive partisan antics warranted his clearance being revoked. Oh, but it’s all politically motivated, you see (via Politico):

President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke former CIA director John Brennan’s security clearance is a “politically motivated” attempt to silence those who disagree with the president, Brennan said in a New York Times op-ed on Thursday.

“Mr. Trump clearly has become more desperate to protect himself and those close to him,” Brennan said. “which is why he made the politically motivated decision to revoke my security clearance in an attempt to scare into silence others who might dare to challenge him.”

Brennan's op-ed published Thursday, one day after the White House announced the president had revoked the former CIA director's security clearance and placed the clearances of several current and former officials under review. Brennan, who has often been critical of Trump, helmed the intelligence agency from 2013 to 2017.

Wait, you’re saying there’s a campaign to silence you, yet you can still say whatever you want, right? You just did. And the anti-Trump media are going to give you even more media its and exposure over this security clearance nonsense. Former CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson also torpedoed this absurd narrative.

He’s obviously not being silenced, folks. It’s just some former top intelligence officials complaining he no longer has access to sensitive information, which he could possibly leak to the press.

So, no, we’re not becoming a banana republic. This isn’t Russia, even though Democrats now seem to think they’re the hordes of Mordor now. The president can do this. He did it. And you can all the 25-person deep panels all you want, liberal media. The decision is final—and it’s not yours. Also, Hillary will never be president and Obama is not coming back.

New Poll Results Freaking out Democrats

New Poll Results Freaking out Democrats

The liberal mainstream news media have a narrative about Donald Trump and they do not deviate. The constant refrain is that the President is unhinged, idiotic, tyrannical and especially racist. Recently, the President was labeled a racist when he criticized CNN’s Don Lemon and NBA star LeBron James. Their latest obsession is the new book written by fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman.

In the book, Omarosa accuses the President of being a racist and using the “N-word” while hosting The Apprentice on NBC-TV. The President’s inflammatory language was supposedly captured on a tape that has been withheld from the public. Nevertheless, the show’s former producer, Mark Burnett, denied that such a tape exists. The President also tweeted that he doesn’t “have that word in my vocabulary, and never have.”

Despite the denials, the media will continue to focus on Omarosa as a way of damaging the President who they love to hate. According to the Media Research Center, the coverage of the President by the major networks has been extremely biased. At least, 90% of the coverage has been negative, much worse than the positive press they showered on Barack Obama.

In this toxic media environment, it is amazing that a new Rasmussen poll shows that Trump has a 50% overall approval rating. This is higher than Obama’s rating at a similar point in his presidency.

Among the findings is an interesting trend among African American voters. Despite the constant media portrayal of the President as a flaming racist, the August 15, 2018 Rasmussen poll showed that 36% of African American respondents gave the President a positive approval rating. In one year, the President’s African American approval rating increased by 17% in the Rasmussen poll.

This support level is much higher than recent Republican presidential candidates have received. In the last 50 years, the highest level of African American support was received by Richard Nixon in the 1972 election, in which he garnered 18% of the vote, according to national exit polls. Since then it declined significantly to a low of only 4% in 2008.

If President Trump can receive 18% or more of African American votes in the 2020 presidential election, he will score an overwhelming victory. Democrats are petrified of such a scenario, so it will be imperative for party leaders to continue their name calling of Donald Trump. Over the next few years, their constant refrain will be that Donald Trump is a bigot who hates African Americans.

Obviously, the Democrats will work with their ideological partners in the liberal news media to demonize President Trump and portray him as a cruel racist. It is a narrative that will soon ring hollow as African Americans start to enjoy the benefits of the Trump economy.

When more Americans find employment, all races benefit. In fact, under President Trump, the African American unemployment rate has reached a historic low. Since the President took office, food stamp usage has decreased, while home ownership and consumer confidence has increased. When there is robust economic growth, African Americans partake in that success as well.

With the President fighting bad trade deals that shipped jobs overseas, the result will be increased manufacturing and more factory jobs in the United States, benefitting all races, including African Americans. As the stock market has increased over the last 19 months, African Americans have seen their investment and retirement accounts increase in value.

A trend seems to be developing among African American voters who view Donald Trump’s policies as a better alternative than the Democratic Party policies that have led to misery and despair.

In every election, both parties should compete for all votes and no party should have a lock on the support of any community. Unfortunately, over the past few decades, the Democratic Party has taken the African American vote for granted as it has received 90% or more support.

As the urban areas of our country have remained under the exclusive control of the Democratic Party, the results have been horrific. In their communities, millions of African Americans must deal with a high crime rate, blight, gangs, drug trafficking, infrastructure woes, inferior public education, a lack of high paying jobs and extreme poverty.

If the President can provide a roadmap to prosperity for long suffering African Americans, it may start a genuinely constructive political process. True competition for African American votes may take many years to accomplish, but those important first steps may be starting right now.

Trump is like a rogue cop who gives out speeding tickets for one MPH over the limit while leveraging money from store owners if they know what's good for them. When you post your next meme in defense of Trump, think of the thug who will expect the same privileges without any regard for your feelings or rights.

All that babbling and no citation to boot. LMAO

…[A]s cable news networks debate reports of the existence of a recording of President Donald Trump using a racial slur, a new poll from Rasmussen Reports says that the president's approval rating among African-Americans is at 36 percent, nearly double his support at this time last year.

[…]

But other polls have also shown an increase in support for Trump among African-Americans – albeit a more modest increase than Rasmussen found.

An NAACP poll released on Aug. 7 found that Trump's approval rating was at 21 percent. And a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in June found Trump's approval rating among blacks at 14 percent.

Although a vast majority of African-Americans still disapprove of Trump's job as president, those numbers represent an improvement from his share of the vote in 2016. No Republican presidential candidate has done better than 12 percent among blacks since Bob Dole in 1996, according to Cornell University's Roper Center.
