Allegations are made for many reasons, and I think that we have learned from recent headlines that many of the reasons are related to self-interest, a need for fame and attention, or just plain spite.

Although I am ideologically opposed to Eric Schneiderman politically, I respectfully disagree with his decision to resign if he actually believes himself to be innocent of the accusations made against him. For Gillibrand and Schumer to pressure him to resign was nothing less that political posturing for their own selfish purposes.

Due process under the rule of law; it needs to be applied consistently and continually if we are ever to have a chance at ending the political posturing which so readily takes place on both sides.

John McCain is a war hero, and whether you respect him as a politician or not, he’s always been loyal to America. As opposed to Donald Trump, who committed treason. How dare Kelly Sadler or anyone else in the traitorous Trump administration make fun of McCain because he’s dying?

Not necessarily a lie; I'm sure he would be more than willing to do so but perhaps was encouraged not to by advisers. Not every change of heart is a lie Kyle. Sometimes boisterous people, like Trump, say things out of emotion and passion, that later, with thought and good advice, decide isn't necessarily the best tactic. I believe Trump to be one of those people.

Not every personality is the same. There are people who are very careful and thoughtful about what they say, always turning every possible response around to view its optics from every angle. Most often this trait can be attributed to career "polished" politicians.

And then there are people like Trump, those who speak first, usually our of a passion for what they believe, and then later rethink.

Personally, I tend to lean more towards the latter than the former, at least when speaking about something that I'm emotionally engaged in. It's not a trait that I am always proud of. I'm proud of the passion I bring to discussions that have deep meaning for me, but I have many times suffered the embarrassment of foot-in-mouth syndrome, which is probably why Trump's misspeaks don't bother me too much. I see great passion in him for the topics about which he speaks, and that the passion often leads him to be careless with the facts he uses to support his perspective. And it's typical of one who goes "off script" so often. Those of us who support him, and who are not anxiously awaiting his every mistake, see him for his passion and can look through to the end goal with out getting mired down in the specifics Trump is a "big picture" guy, who as a business man has learned to let others deal with the detials.

Anyway, now that I am older and more comfortable in my own skin, and with my own faults, I find I prefer the written word over the spoken word because it gives me the pause to rethink and rewrite. A word once spoken can not be unspoken and anyone who is successful in life is accustomed to those who anxiously await a mistake to hold over your head.

Words spoken in haste and with great emotion, that are later walked back or rephrased, are not necessarily lies. If that were the case then there aren't many of us who couldn't be accused of lying on a daily basis.

Shear lies and nothing but lies, perhaps by chance an occasional slip up or misquote but Trump has made it his Mode of operation especially when he's guilty.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/11/politics/donald-trump-john-mccain-death/index.html

On Thursday morning, a White House aide named Kelly Sadler joked about Arizona Sen. John McCain's opposition to CIA nominee Gina Haspel by noting that "he's dying anyway."
It was the latest in a series of increasingly nasty comments about McCain: Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) called it "ridiculous" that McCain wasn't planning to invite President Donald Trump to his funeral while a retired general on Fox News on Thursday referred to a debunked conspiracy theory that McCain had informed on his comrades while a prisoner of war during Vietnam.

There's no disputing the fact that McCain has terminal brain cancer and that he is very unlikely to be around at this time next year. It's also indisputable that McCain is a genuine American hero -- who fought and suffered for his country in the theater of war and had decided the better part of the last four decades of his life to public service as a House member, a senator and a two-time presidential candidate.
That even some part of his final days -- or weeks or months -- is consumed by this sort of garbage is maddening. And depressing. And made even more so by the fact that this is, in fact, the new normal.

How did we get here? Where anyone who disagrees with us on anything is evil, other and an object for ridicule? Where the phrase "reasonable people can disagree" has lost all meaning? Where someone can feel comfortable making a death joke about a man battling brain cancer?

Lots of people would like to lay the blame -- all of it -- at the feet of Trump. The reality is more complex.
Our own self-sorting tendencies -- we rarely live around anyone anymore who doesn't see the world generally as we do -- played a role. The expansion of ideological media where you can only watch, read and listen to people who validate you and your views played a role. The rise of outside political groups who made a business out of purifying the two parties of any so-called moderates played a role. The partisan redistricting processes around the country, which jammed us into congressional seats prioritized by political party played a role.
That said, there is no question that Trump -- the campaign he ran in 2016 and the way he has acted in the White House since winning -- has been the prime catalyst for this degradation in our ability to simply treat people with whom we disagree with respect.

There was already lots of gasoline on the ground. Trump lit the match and dropped it.

Trump's campaign was based on a simple idea: Politicians are too political. They're afraid of their own shadows. They won't say it like it is because they live in fear of the political correctness police coming to knock on their door.
He cast himself as the antidote to all of that -- someone who would say what everyone was thinking. He was a status quo shaker, the worst nightmare for the staid and ineffective political establishment.

That idea, in and of itself, is powerful.
The problem was -- and is -- that Trump conflated insults and bullying with shaking things up. So, questioning McCain's war credentials -- "He's not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured." -- as Trump did in July 2015, at the start of his presidential campaign, was somehow treated by Trump and those who supported him as speaking truth to power.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/sanders-graha...-161910305.html

Prominent senators on both sides of the aisle called upon the White House to apologize in the wake of various reports that a staffer mocked Sen. John McCain’s fight against brain cancer.

Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., both expressed disgust over the Trump administration’s refusal to condemn Kelly Sadler, a special assistant to the president, for allegedly dismissing McCain’s opinion because “he’s dying anyway.”

On Friday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed that Sadler still works for the administration but declined to specifically address the comment in question: “I’m not going to validate a leak out of an internal staff meeting one way or the other.”

Bernie Sanders told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” that he cannot fathom why the White House has not apologized.

“It is beyond my comprehension. It is one thing in the White House for somebody to say something crude and stupid and disrespectful about an American hero. It is another thing for them not to apologize,” Sanders said. “So it is beyond my comprehension. And I just don’t know what goes on in that White House mentality for there not being an apology for that terrible remark.”

Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist who caucuses with the Democratic Party, pointed out that though he regularly disagrees with McCain, a conservative Republican from Arizona, over political matters, he personally likes him “very, very much” and said he’s respected “in the Senate and in the country.”

Graham offered a similar opinion while speaking to “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan on CBS News. He said he’s not satisfied with the White House’s response to the controversy.

“It’s a pretty disgusting thing to say. If it was a joke, it was a terrible joke. I just wish somebody from the White House would tell the country that was inappropriate [and] that’s not who we are in the Trump administration,” Graham said. “John McCain can be criticized for any political decision he’s ever made or any vote he’s ever cast, but he’s an American hero.”

https://www.yahoo.com/news/white-house-apos-irritated-john-143713089.html

CNN commentator Ana Navarro has said the White House is “irritated that John McCain is not dying of cancer” following its failure to apologize after an aide quipped that the senator’s opinion didn’t matter because “he’s dying anyway.”

As the White House faced criticism for not issuing an official apology over the aide’s comments, the political pundit, who is no fan of President Donald Trump, slammed officials.

“I think, frankly, what’s happening here is that the White House is irritated that John McCain is not dying of cancer—he’s living with cancer," Navarro said on CNN's New Day on Tuesday. "And he is choosing to make every single day on this Earth something that’s meaningful and counts, and he is still confronting Donald Trump for his outrages.”

It's becoming very evident that our president is mentally disturbed, not by our say so but the actions he espouse on a daily basis. I found a list of awards given out to citizens for their works involving humanitarian offerings to world peace and why they qualify for such an award. Well, it seems that this idiot finds a "cheat sheet" and states that he'll work toward one of those awards but sadly for you Mr. Trump, there's a lesson as to why they qualify, one is driven by passion, compassion, conviction and a need to make the world better place and not a self serving agenda, take note, maybe, just maybe if you processed just one of these attribute, it would be a good start. It's interesting to know that the Nobel Peace prize was given to the man that invented dynamite, maybe Trump can research the fact that his intentions were to actually save lives and not just kill for the sake of killing. Once again, this old geezer is incensed that his major nemesis, President Obama received one in 2009, his first year in office, don't say that Mr.Trump doesn't have a method to his madness, he's well ahead of us in how to destroy, detract from and disassemble anything that has the word "normal" attached to it.
