spectrum may have chnaged your digital box to show their 'info' channel when the tv is first turned on to update customers about the new box requirement

if you do not want the 'info' channel to come on every time you turn on the tv

press the 'settings' button on the remote
scroll to the right until you get to 'display'
choose 'power on channel'
press 'select'
then choose what channel you want the tv to be on when it is powered up

have noticed that spectrum has eliminated some of the 'start over' features on some channels - without notice

they have also eliminated large amounts of 'on demand' shows that had an expiration date of 3,6 or even 9 months for the viewer to watch before it was removed - spectrum just removed them without notice

the guide has very limited information

continue to get error codes after the menu was reformatted about 6 months ago

their excuses are that the software needs to be updated

stop advertising how great your service is and use the money spent on lame commercials to fix the ongoing software problems

just about every other commercial is a lame spectrum commercial

call them and ask for a 'credit' to your account until the problems are fixed

I have 1 Cable box from them and have streaming media centers on the rest of my TV's.

My Spectrum cable box is constantly crashing, or has to be unplugged and restarted to be able to change channels.

The spectrum app is freezing randomly or not updating.

Just because that wasn't a kick in the pants Spectrum "updated" my router greatly reducing my speed..... because of my other issues.

When I decided to drop Spectrum I was having problems like yours with my cable box. The day I took it to the cable office in Geneva I told the lady that the box was not working properly. Her response "No problem. This unit is so old we will just scrap it anyway." How nice to know the equipment I had been paying top dollar for was so outdated and the new customers were getting new equipment at bargain prices.

every time it crashes call them up and make sure you speak with a customer rep

do not let the automated system reboot the box - connect to a spectrum rep

have the rep reboot the box from their location and then ask them for a credit for wasting your time for having to call in for the problems they refuse to fix

if people do not complain spectrum will continue to abuse their customers

so they could not correct your tv cable box situation so they slowed down your router thereby giving you even less for what you are paying for

have them reduce your monthly bill

for current spectrum customers the best thing to do is call spectrum about every six months and have them mail you a new box

mail the old one back to them (use the box that the newer came in) with them paying the shipping costs

they have limited locations of their 'stores' in the area so let them mail it out to you - at their cost

or have a tech come out and install it but that will waste your time

Oh I also thought I would let you all know that with a filter on the pole that they can make your tv viewing normal again but they wont tell you that.

individuals we know received an offer in the mail from spectrum

30 mbps for only $14.99

$5 more for home wifi

if your internet use does not require the 100 mbps that they 'forced' on to you then I would call spectrum and ask for the 30 mbps at $14.99

try it out for a month or two

if it fits yours needs at 30 mbps you will save $50 per month or $45 if you need home wifi with it

the additional $5 for home wifi can be reduced

use your own wifi router

do not tell them you will use your own router or they will say you have to use theirs at the added cost

Just when you thought Spectrum couldn't stoop to new lows they cut off Fox..... Until we all just up and cancel our cable service these low life bottom feeding bags of human excrement will continue to take away from us. The reps from Fox offered to continue the current deal in place and they just shut them off.

Fox has been pulled from Spectrum’s lineup in the Syracuse area.

Fox Syracuse, owned by Bristlecone Broadcasting, announced Friday evening that its TV channels, including WSYT Fox 68 (channels 8 and 1206) and WNYS My43 (MyNet channels 7 SD and 507 HD), are no longer available to Spectrum cable customers due to a contract dispute.

"We apologize for not being available on Spectrum cable. We offered to extend our current agreement, and Spectrum took us off the air unexpectedly. We are however still available over the air with an antennae," Fox Syracuse said in a statement.

Gladly.

I use Verizon for my land line and internet at a consistent 22-24Mbps (20+ is full prosumer level) = $58 month w/fees and additional charges. I re-negotiate at least once a year.

When I get the urge to watch a greater selection (which is rarely), I use Apple TV and rotate between various streaming services at roughly $10 per month (unlimited) depending on available content. That's with five computers running. My TV is connected to an OLD MacBook Pro and I control the channels and settings all from the comfort of my recliner with the TV remote, an Apple Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard. Easy-Peasy!

No buffering issues and not a single problem, bar the rare service update outage that might last an hour. Any security, operating system, application or media downloads I run during sleep hours.

I also have an old (but powerful) house antenna. I have no complaints.
