'Well-oiled' activist ops targeting GOP reps at their homes, hijacking town halls
  • Local chapters of a left-wing group called “Indivisible” helped organize and lead those … protests.

left-wing groups throw their first punch by rounding up activists and training them to be as disruptive as possible during representatives’ town halls.

Then, when lawmakers stop holding those events, the groups throw their second punch by protesting at their homes.

the group Indivisible… created a popular guide for making members of Congress look bad at town halls. The group says the guide is now used by "over 5,800 local groups" and has at least two groups in every congressional district.

Indivisible bills itself as “grassroots,” but is funded mostly by wealthy foundations and anonymous donors who give through a complex web of left-wing groups, making it hard to identify donors.

On its website, Indivisible advises potential donors that they can make a “large gift” tax deductible if they go through an intermediary group called the Tides Foundation… liberal billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations is one of many groups that gives money to projects through the Tides Foundation

Indivisible’s town hall guide and the protests are “orchestrated from afar to recruit people in the district who are anything but objective or the average constituent.”

New NY 23rd
  • at Seneca Falls I found that there is an “Indivisible of the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes” organization. Basically they cover the whole NY 23rd. Their goal is to have groups started in each of the 11 NY 23rd counties. They have planned trainings, will collect and share strategies of the local group, and increase communication among the groups of the NY 23rd. They now have a website (http://indivisibleny23.com), a twitter account (@indivisibleny23rd) and an email address (indivisible23rd@gmail.com). Although the website is very new it has features that will those who are thinking of joining should know about:

    • A Calendar of Events. The events are color coded, and there is one color set aside from Rallies, Rep. Reed’s Town Hall meetings, Community Events, Trainings, March, other.
Media & Press. They already have news articles, Facebook Postings, Op-Eds, and letters to the editor from around the NY 23rd.
County Listings of contact information (and maybe more items later).
They plan to have a Blog.

Newsman,

I usually respect your posts, because you usually post news articles from local media, much faster than I am able to find them.

But this one really has little to do with real news. I have to call it "Fake News."

Your "news" is a research project from Fox News and other right wing sites and has little or nothing to do with the election for the Board of Supervisors in Seneca Falls. It only relates to the congressional election in the 23rd district.

The fact that a democratic candidate is participating in events organized by Indivisible should not be a shock, or even classified as "news."

I have been a life long Republican, but I have a lot of problems with where the party is and looks like it is going.

I have a hard time figuring out why we need a "wall" with Mexico, paid for by taxpayers, instead of better border security on the Canadian border, our airports, and the coastal waters. All of the 9/11 highjackers flew in and overstayed their visas. Drugs are coming from boats every night. And, since my uncle was a bootlegger during prohibition, I am pretty sure there are drugs coming across the Canadian border.

Perhaps this story from Fox News is your "real news source:"

NEWSMAN'S REAL SOURCE

This is about Congress, not the Board of Supervisors?

If allseeingeye thinks it is fake news she hasn't followed the events of the last few years too closely. There are way too many people spreading the same false information word for word at meetings. It's not a coincidence, they are well trained and Cornell even has courses to teach organizing these types of protests and supposed grassroots organizations

These are the people who write all the negative letters to the editor in the Finger Lakes Times about Tom Reed.

When did the Finger Lakes Times become a "right wing site"?

I wonder if the county Democrats realized who they were getting when they nominated her. Ted Young is a true believer, but he always struck more as an old style Democrat in the mold of Tip O'Neill or Mario Cuomo, rather than the "Antifa" type that believes in disorder and far-left agitation.

Which one of those things is under Board of Supervisors control and why would people want a candidate who cares more about those issues than local ones?

It must be easier for those who don't have a valid argument to drag outside issues that have nothing to do with the issue at hand than to actually discuss the issues at hand....Hence what we see.....

Truthfully our leaders only think they are ready. New approaches and ideas are the only way forward. Characterizations that purport to shame candidates that embrace something new like "leftist" ideology are a stinking pile. Capitalism and the exploitation inherent in that system have left so many people in Seneca County struggling that it hardly seems possible that no viable plan has been put forward. I would propose the opportunity to invite our smug politicians to live like the poor do in Schuyler and Seneca counties. A mobile home, fifteen year old car, wood heat, and minimum wages including food stamps. Six months in that environment meeting and interacting decent folks who have to work four jobs to survive might make a difference if they weren't such a bunch of whores totally beholden to the cash that blinds their point of view. The status quo has provided zippo other than propaganda to embrace the pork pie track, middle class be damned.

So obviously you hate capitalism. Could it be that capitalism doesn't work for you because you don't want to work and socialism could be your salvation in life ? Got news for you socialists have to work too but the rewards aren't as great.

Born and raised in New York City, Weil has lived in Seneca Falls since 2005. She is currently a professor of history at Cornell University, where she has also held several administrative positions, most recently as Director of Graduate Studies in the History Department. She has been politically active as an organizer of Indivisible Seneca Falls and of the peaceful “Stand Together Against Hate” vigil held in August. Married to a local business owner, educated, and hates hate. She is wrong for us.

Seriously, I am frustrated by politicians that tell us they will work on filling downtown. If you have great ideas, and have skin in the game, why are you holding it in?

If fixing downtown is her goal, why is she running for the COUNTY, not TOWN board?

Do you really think she knows what she's doing ? I think not but Ted won't put her in a race he wants to win.
