Liberals: Saying 'Mother Of All Bombs' Is 'The Epitome Of Lethal Patriarchy' (Or This Is Why You Lost Part XXVI)

Well, the liberals are at it again with their political correctness nonsense. This time they took aim at the 22,000-lb Massive Ordnance Air Blast (aka the Mother of All Bombs), which progressives found offensive. While never been used in the field, it’s been in service since the Bush administration, so this outrage seems a bit delayed. Second, no one really cares that this bomb was gendered. It’s these politically correct antics that will continue to make the Left look abjectly insane and unpalatable. It’s part of the speech codes, the lectures on so-called privilege, and safe space authoritarian ethos that only emboldened the forces the helped elect Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States. A lot may not have liked Trump, but after being lectured to, among other things, about how calling this 22,000-lb bomb is an example of “lethal patriarchy,” you would vote for the candidate who shunned this nonsense. And believe me mother of all bombs is a much friendlier term than what we really could call this bomb, give the conflict we’re in with radical Islamic terrorists.

The U.S. dropped a MOAB on ISIS fighters in Afghanistan, killing nearly 100 of them last week. Some saw this as sending a message to North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, who was making preparations for the 105th anniversary of the country’s founder, Kim Il Sung, which also included a possible nuclear weapons test. That didn’t happen. A missile test was conducted on Sunday, but it blew up on the platform.

US President Donald Trump said he was sending "an armada" to Korean waters to potentially deal with threats from Pyongyang. But its no-show has caused some South Koreans to question his leadership and strategy regarding their unpredictable neighbor in the north.

And as the country prepares to vote for a new president on May 9, the claim could have far-reaching implications for the two countries' relations.

"What Mr. Trump said was very important for the national security of South Korea," Presidential candidate Hong Joon-pyo told the Wall Street Journal.
"If that was a lie, then during Trump's term, South Korea will not trust whatever Trump says,"​ said Hong, who is currently trailing in the polls.

One newspaper headline called it Trump's "Carl Vinson lie," and speculated that the Russian and Chinese leaders must have had a good laugh at its absence. Meant to present a robust defense against a potential nuclear test by Pyongyang, the report likened the bluff to North Korea's shows of force, where "fake missiles" are paraded through the streets of the North Korean capital.

"Like North Korea, which is often accused of displaying fake missiles during military parades, is the United States, too, now employing 'bluffing' as its North Korea policy?" it asked.

The Trump administration has no foreign policy anywhere. Trump says he likes to keep everyone guessing. What a joke he is.

South Korea on Thursday clarified that it was never a part of China, after President Donald Trump told The Wall Street Journal that Chinese President Xi Jinping told him that “Korea actually used to be a part of China.” Cho June-hyuck, a spokesman for South Korea’s foreign ministry, said “it’s a clear fact acknowledged by the international community that, for thousands of years in history, Korea has never been part of China.” Hong Joon-pyo, a South Korean presidential candidate called the suggestion a “distortion of history” and “an invasion of the Republic of Korea’s sovereignty.” The comment comes amid an already-tenuous relationship between South Korea and China over the U.S.’s deployment of a missile defense system in South Korea in an effort to counter North Korean aggression.

Korea become a tributary state of Manchu in 1637, with its status continuing under the Qing dynasty until 1894. As for why Korea never remained a part of China, it was incredibly difficult to conquer. The Korean peninsula is mountainous, which made it highly defensible.

While the history of relations between China and Korea is complicated, including a number of wars and invasions, Koreans generally bristle at the thought that they were ever part of China. For centuries, Korea was part of China's tributary system, paying for protection from its giant neighbor, just like many other kingdoms including Vietnam and Thailand. But parts of Korea were very rarely under anything resembling direct Chinese control -- the notable exceptions being when the Han dynasty set up four "commanderies" in the northern part of Korea in the second century BC and when both were put under Mongol rule in the 13th century AD.

It is easy to put something in Trumps head as there is a lot of empty space in there.

As Trump is not known as an Asian history scholar, Kyung Moon Hwang, a University of South Carolina history professor, has charged Xi Jinping with putting a Chinese nationalist version of Chinese-Korean history into the US president's head. "It’s possible that Xi said something like this, as such a story has been part of the nationalist history project under the Chinese Communist Party for a couple of decades," Hwang told Quartz.

Though Hwang also conceded that Trump could have simply not understood the nuanced points that Xi was trying to make, or the history lesson could also just have been lost in translation.

So Trump has now angered our ally of South Korea at least twice. By saying there was an armada coming when it wasn't and saying Korea was once part of China. With friends like us since 1/20/17, who needs enemies?
