His chance to serve a second term is already toast. The problem is, what happens to our country and the world along the way...

More than one source claims Trump will get a second term. No president has ever taken office when this country has been in a mess like it is now, except during the Vietnam War.

I will agree this is a mess. In response to a terror attack, the POTUS babbles about some made up story involving General Pershing and pigs blood. Dillusional psycho babble.

An insult to dillusional psychos everywhere...

Mess is like Abraham Lincoln taking over as the country was on the edge of civil war. Andrew Johnson after the death of Lincoln. LBJ after the death of Kennedy. Truman during a world war.

Record breaking inauguration crowds I'm sure....

Nuclear weapons in the hands of lunatics.A handful of countries waiting to destroy us. On the verge of financial ruin. 75% between the age of 18 to 24 unfit for the military. Ineptitude of the workforce. Socialism the popular political ideology. Over population of the entire planet. Headed toward the next civil war.

I would love to know what source that is. The London book makers have his odds of finishing his first term at 50-50. All he does is worry about his base. And that base is slowly shrinking.

Kyle, the answer is over 1000 seats.

And what makes you thing the downward tends are going to stop Kyle; when you have no one with any common sense running for office...

According to FiveThirtyEight, Trump is more unpopular than any other president in the history of modern polling at this point in his first term. Former President Gerald Ford—whose popularity plummeted after he pardoned his predecessor, Richard Nixon, who resigned in disgrace amid the Watergate scandal—was close: On day 224 of his presidency, Ford's approval rating was 37.4 percent, or 0.2 percentage points better than where Trump stands now, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Even Rasmussen Reports—a survey often criticized for being right-leaning and a company whose results Trump has touted in the past—put Trump's approval rating at just 42 percent on Friday. Fifty-six percent disapproved, according to Rasmussen.

The same day, Trump tweeted about how effective his administration has been, saying, "General John Kelly is doing a great job as Chief of Staff. I could not be happier or more impressed — and this Administration continues to...get things done at a record clip. Many big decisions to be made over the coming days and weeks. AMERICA FIRST!"

Despite the president's claims, much of his tenure in the White House has been defined by negatives, including the ongoing investigations into his connections to Russia, the failure of congressional Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare and his responses to North Korea's continued provocations.

lthough he has only been in office a few months, Donald Trump’s presidency has had a major impact on how the world sees the United States. Trump and many of his key policies are broadly unpopular around the globe, and ratings for the U.S. have declined steeply in many nation According to a new Pew Research Center survey spanning 37 nations, a median of just 22% has confidence in Trump to do the right thing when it comes to international affairs. This stands in contrast to the final years of Barack Obama’s presidency, when a median of 64% expressed confidence in Trump’s predecessor to direct America’s role in the world.

Donald Trump started as the most unpopular new president in the history of modern polling. After seven months, things have only gotten worse.

Plunging into undesirably unchartered territory, Trump is setting new records with his dismally low approval ratings, including the lowest mark ever for a president in his first year. In fact, with four months left in the year, Trump has already spent more time under 40 percent than any other first-year president.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/0/donald-trump-latest-approval-rating-impeachment-odds/

As it stands impeachment is still unlikely because it would require a majority in the House of Representatives to go to trial and a two-thirds majority in the Senate to make it happen.

Both the House and the Senate currently under Republican control, meaning that Trump's party would have to abandon him for him to be kicked out of office.

However, the bookmakers are banking on things getting worse for Trump with the latest odds from Ladbrokes showing that there is a 48 per cent chance he will fail to make it to the end of his first term in office.

Their latest odds are as follows:

Impeachment or resignation before 2020: EVENS (50 per cent chance)
To serve full first term: 4/5 (55.6 per cent chance)

The odds aren't looking good for President Trump.

One word has been on everyone's lips this tumultuous week and for once it's not "impeachment" but rather "resignation" — and the possibility of Trump throwing in the towel is actually quite likely, if bookmakers' odds are to be believed.

Tony Schwartz, ghost writer for The Art of the Deal and born-again Trump critic, was among those uttering the R-word Wednesday, when he tweeted a prediction. "Trump's presidency is effectively over," he wrote. "Would be amazed if he survives till the end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner."

He was not alone. David Letterman said on The Howard Stern Show Wednesday that "it's time to go... It was an experiment. We put an outsider in the office. Well, it hasn’t worked. Just resign." And Former Vice President Al Gore had similar thoughts on Trump's time in office. During an interview released Thursday from LADbible, Gore gave this simple advice to Trump: "resign."

But how likely is a Trump resignation? Pretty likely, according to the bookies.

Paddy Power said:

Tony Schwartz spent 18 months with Trump when helping ghost-write his memoir and while that must have been totally unbearable – it also means he knows The Donald pretty well.

After an awful week for the President that has seen other issues like North Korea pushed into the shadows it’s no surprise punters are latching onto the fact Trump might call it a day.

It is offering odds of 2/1 for Trump to be impeached in 2017.

The President has come in for criticism for his response to the weekend violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, saying "both sides" were at fault. His comments led to a string of chief executives stepping down from his business advisory councils before they were disbanded altogether.

Earlier today James Murdoch, chief executive of 21st Century Fox and son of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, became the latest to offer his thoughts on the matter. He wrote a memo to staff saying: "I can’t even believe I have to write this: standing up to Nazis is essential; there are no good Nazis. Or Klansmen, or terrorists. Democrats, Republicans, and others must all agree on this, and it compromises nothing for them to do so."
