This is another worthless executive order and a total waste of money where you probably think he is taking the bull by the horns.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/11/politics/trump-election-integrity-voter-fraud/

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday forming a commission on voter fraud and elections, an action many Democrats say is aimed at justifying his unfounded voter fraud claims.
Trump, without evidence, has said that three to five million people voted illegally for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election -- similar to the margin of Clinton's popular vote victory over Trump.

The commission will be spearheaded by Vice President Mike Pence and controversial Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach. Kobach, who helped on the Trump transition team, is a lightning rod for critics who have accused him of extreme racism and having ties to white nationalists.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in February that no federal money should be spent investigating voter fraud. "There's no evidence that it occurred in such a significant number that would have changed the presidential election, and I don't think we ought to spend any federal money investigating that," the Kentucky Republican told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

After Trump reportedly told several senators in a February private White House meeting much of the fraud took place in New Hampshire, White House aide Stephen Miller repeated the claim on television.

But many people in New Hampshire responded, voicing confusion and anger.

Former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman Fergus Cullen took to Twitter to offer a $1,000 reward for evidence of a single illegal vote in New Hampshire by someone coming from Massachusetts. He said no one had offered evidence, and in an interview with CNN's Brooke Baldwin, he blasted the White House's claim.

"The idea that people are coming to New Hampshire to commit fraud on a massive scale like this is just preposterous and it needs to be called out as untrue," Cullen said.

Team Trump is “either in bed with the Russians or too stupid to understand the severity of this mistake,” an official fumed after Kremlin press got exclusive Oval Office access.

Senior members of the Trump administration are livid that the White House allowed the Russian government to steer the narrative of the president’s Wednesday meeting with top Russian diplomats by giving Kremlin-backed media exclusive access to the event.

The White House did not allow American press into the meeting between President Donald Trump, Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Russia’s ambassador to Washington, Sergey Kislyak. But it did admit a photographer from TASS, a state-owned Russian news service. Its photos were subsequently posted on TASS’s website, giving that outlet a monopoly on publishable visuals of the meeting.

Deepak Chopra: Climbing Down from Trump Rage—Why We Must

The medicine and personal transformation pioneer—and author of the new book ‘You Are the Universe’—gives seven coping methods for how to deal with our unhinged President.

It’s still surreal—horribly surreal—and we aren’t about to wake up.

The Trump presidency confronts the majority of Americans with a situation that has rapidly degenerated from shock and disbelief to rage and dread. The op-ed page of the New York Times has been reduced to perpetual teeth-grinding. Faint signs of hope from Donald Trump’s lips have proved to be illusions, the vagaries of a flimflam artist soaking up adulation for what amounts to a despicable regime. The last slender thread of hope, that the Republican-run Senate will stand up to him, is likely to snap soon.

A coup in real time? Historian Timothy Snyder says the Comey firing is Trump’s “open admission of collusion with Russia”
Yale historian says Trump has now admitted guilt; former intelligence officer says Flynn was a Russian agent

Snyder also predicted: Donald Trump will stage his own version of Adolf Hitler’s Reichstag fire — a manufactured crisis or some other type of political or social upheaval — to enact a state of emergency or otherwise consolidate his power by subverting America’s political institutions.

Is Trump’s firing of Comey the next step in this direction? I corresponded with Snyder by email on Wednesday to learn his thoughts about this new development.

Unfortunately, this state of emergency is the new normal in America. In the future, people who are now living will tell their children and grandchildren how they watched American democracy being surrendered to plutocratic authoritarianism and fascism in real time. These same children and grandchildren will ask, “Why didn’t you do anything to stop it?” What will we tell them?

History is watching. The American people now have to choose if they will be bystanders or agents in their own destiny. I am deeply saddened that so many Americans seem ready and willing to choose the first option.

It was the matter and the timing of how he was fired. It was obvious he was fired not over Clinton but because he was investigating the Trump White house and collusion with Russia. Now it was disclosed he had asked for more resources for that investigation just days before he was fired. During the campaign said Putin was a great leader. He said that Putin was smart. Putin is blackmailing Trump over something big time.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ba...f-any-president

Retired Army Gen. Barry McCaffrey said in an interview Monday that President Donald Trump’s comments about Russian President Vladimir Putin might be “the most anti-American statement” ever made by a U.S. president.

The little boy president

By Michael D'Antonio

Updated 8:58 PM ET, Thu May 11, 2017
Trump: I planned to fire Comey

Like most little boys, Donald Trump can be disarmingly honest, as when he once said, "When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I'm basically the same. The temperament is not that different." The trouble is that the first grader is now President of the United States, and his temperament is on display for the world to see. Unpredictable, impulsive and immature, Trump acts in a way that would be expected of a 6-year-old boy, but is terrifying in a man whose moods dictate decisions carried out by adults on behalf of the most powerful nation in the world.

Trump's anger could lead down a dangerous road

Presidents often get angry, but most go to great lengths to hide their fits of rage and the impression that red faced fury rules their actions. Not Donald Trump. In three-and-a-half months in office, the 45th President has shown that indignation, impulsiveness and a prickly desire to protect his own self image are at the core of his governing philosophy.

Trump’s words add fuel to questions about legality of firing Comey

In a television interview and on Twitter, the president in the past two days has given ammunition to arguments by some legal experts that his actions constitute a possible case of obstruction of justice — a central charge in the impeachment proceedings against two presidents in the last 43 years.

Ex-FBI Official Mocks Trump: Give Him A Pacifier, Put Him In His Crib

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trum...kushpmg00000009

A former official at the CIA and FBI has alerted President Donald Trump that he has no idea what he’s up against trying to “intimidate” booted FBI Director James Comey and the agency itself.

“You’re threatening the FBI, who’s in the midst of an investigation of presidential aides?” Philip Mudd, a former counterterrorism official at the FBI and CIA, said Friday on CNN. “The FBI’s been around since 1908. The president of the United States has been around for three-and-a-half months.”

“If you think you’re going to intimidate the former FBI director and the dozens of people in the workforce who are conducting this investigation with the Department of Justice, you’ve got another think coming.”

Mudd, now a counterterrorism analyst for CNN, scoffed: “You can’t take this seriously. You feel like you’ve got to give the president of the United States a pacifier and a rattle and put him in the crib.”

He added: “Anyone outside the Beltway, any everyday American who looks at this and takes in a breath and says, ‘I’m worried,’ I say, ‘Don’t worry about it. This is a joke.’ Nobody in the investigation would take this seriously.”

Mudd was addressing in particular the president’s warning tweet Friday that Comey should “hope” Trump doesn’t have a tape of their January dinner meeting. Trump has said Comey assured him that he was not being investigated as part of the probe into links between the Kremlin and Trump campaign associates. Sources linked to Comey, however, said that what actually occurred at the dinner was that Trump asked Comey to take a “loyalty” pledge to the president, which Comey refused to do.

Mudd has often lashed out at Trump. On Wednesday he called the president a “coward” for firing Comey the way he did. “If you’re gonna fire somebody with this experience: pick up the damn phone,” he said. Comey learned he was fired from a TV newscast while he was in Los Angeles.

Despite the Trump's veiled threat to Comey, "You better hope you do not do this!"...

Fired and Smeared by Trump, Comey Wants to Talk Under Oath... and 'In Public'

What consequences await the U.S. president if ousted FBI director gets 'day in front of the entire political world to tell his story under oath in front of a congressional committe'?

Reports indicate James Comey, the former director of the FBI who was summarily fired by President Trump this week, "is willing to testify, but wants it to be in public."(Photo: Getty)

Though James Comey, the former director of the FBI whose firing by President Donald Trump sparked political uproar this week, has reportedly declined an invitation to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee behind closed doors about his controversial ouster, he is reportedly willing to answer lawmakers' questions in open session if given the opportunity.

The New York Times on Saturday, citing a close associate of Comey, reports the former director "is willing to testify, but wants it to be in public."
