GENEVA — Protesters who stood in front of Rep. Tom Reed’s district office on Exchange Street on Tuesday afternoon allege the congressman has flip-flopped on the issue of banning Muslims from entering the Unites States.

A group of at least 200 people gathered in the chilly air to protest Reed’s support of President Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily blocking people from seven majority-Muslim countries in the Middle East and Africa from entering the United States. The order also suspends refugee immigration for four months.

Thousands have demonstrated at U.S. airports and at other spots since Trump issued the order on Friday.

“We’re not going to let him (Reed) wiggle out of it anymore,” said Brien Ashdown of Romulus, one of the organizers. “He’s going to represent the 23rd District and the people who live here.”
