Reed named a vice chair of Trump's transition team

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Tom Reed, R-Corning, has been named as one of seven new vice chairs of President-elect Donald J. Trump's transition team.

“We are both honored and humbled to be selected as a vice chair for President-Elect Trump’s transition team," Reed said Wednesday. "We care about the future of our country and recognize that this is a massive undertaking at a pivotal moment in our history. It’s only right that we remain committed to bringing our best efforts to the table to make our country strong and prosperous. We are glad to serve the alongside those on the team and look forward to getting to work.”

The move makes Reed the second Western New York congressman to help with Trump's transition. Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence, was named a member of the executive committee overseeing the transition earlier this month.

Collins was the first member of the House to endorse Trump, and Reed wasn't far behind. But the two lawmakers have taken strikingly different approaches to Trump's candidacy and election, with Collins appearing as a frequent media spokesman on Trump's behalf and Reed remaining supportive but sometimes subtly critical of Trump's boisterous ways.

Reed was elected to a fourth term earlier this month. He represents New York's sprawling 23rd district, which stretches from the Chautauqua County shores of Lake Erie all the way to Ithaca.

What is with the "we are" and "we care"

Isn't Reed one person?

Here's what Wikipedia has to say about the "Royal we:"

The royal "we", or majestic plural (pluralis majestatis in Latin, literally, "the plural of majesty"), is the use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person holding a high office, such as a sovereign (e.g., a monarch or sultan) or religious leader (e.g., the Pope or a bishop).

Not sure it fits Reed.

Read it again, this time read the first sentence a few times till you get it. 7 people would be we.
