Around 25 channels with antenna alone, but I can get a couple hundred more for the cost of a single bottle of low- to mid-tier priced Finger Lakes Wine. Plus, the internet has literally THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of free news, arts, entertainment, culture, science, travel, sports and political sources all at the tips of their fingers. PBS doesn't air "Rick and Morty", but that channel (website) alone will keep the most hardcore info/entertainment junkie busy with the most diverse, high quality online content available.
Google is your friend.
Except for those who require their exclusive sports broadcasts or who must be up-to-date on the latest Game of Thrones episodes, etc, I can't imagine needing anything more. For those who do, they simply need to pony-up the dough for the privilege of watching "as it happens".
