Love the place! Always bring any out of town guests there. It's like a restaurant you enjoy while in a bigger city like Montreal. It's not your typical local place. The manager, Julie, is always there happy to see you and checks in with the customers as they enjoy their dinner. The servers have always been very attentive as well. A friend I had visiting from Chicago said, "this place is better than restaurants you can find in Chicago". I'm glad we have Halsey's!!!

We haven't been in a couple years. Do you still leave smelling like a campfire? (from the wood fire pizza oven) The yelp reviews are up and down, mostly complaining about service which was our problem too.

We'll probably give them another go at some point, but we have a 3 year old now so we mostly hit more casual restaurants. To be honest if we do have a night out without the kid, Ports is our first choice.

I haven't eaten there in a couple years. I was very disappointed at the time in the quality of the steak that I ordered. In addition, the service was very slow. Since it was a couple years ago, I should give it another chance sometime.

I think Yelp might be bogus. Have you looked at other reviews for other places on Yelp? They just seem really fake, and very vague. I know they got busted for getting paid to write up false/bad reviews of places.

No, I don't think they are all false. Perhaps some people have done a review just to heckle. But I personally reviewed a couple of places on Yelp and my own reviews were my own opinion and based on my personal experience.

I did a little research and it was not Yelp that was busted but about 19 independent companies, charging for "search engine optimization" that were posting fake reviews. Yelp has a review filter and assisted in the investigation. But they also admitted the filter is not perfect and bogus reviews can get through

I've always had a good experience at the Red Dove, enjoyed the food (and the oysters whenever they have them).

I have to agree. I always liked Red Dove. Never a bad experience. The wife and I plan on going to Halseys this coming weekend with some family who
are coming in from Chicago. Will let everyone know how it goes.

Had family over last weekend and our party of 12 went to Eddie O's. Don't care for Pete.

Not that there is anything wrong with Eddie O's, but Pete's places also employ over a hundred people from the area. Maybe you should try to think about it from a different perspective, think of it as supporting locals, not supporting Pete.

I've been two the Auburn Parker's nearly a 1/2 dozen times, Newark twice and its been good, good food and service. (haven't been to Seneca Falls) I don't know if it's the management but every time I've been here to Geneva's location something goes wrong either with the food or service. Last time some guy (manager ?) was chewing out one of the staff in the middle of the restaurant.

Eddie O's has 3 locations now, not as many as Parkers 4, but still employs many people from the area as well.

I have been to Parker's two times. Both times the food was excellent and we couldn't have asked for better service.
