Water Rates

I see in today's FL Times (10/7) page 5A, that the Town of Geneva is raising Benton's water rates from $1.55 to $1.75 per 1000 gallons.

On page 3A it states that the City of Geneva's water rate will go to $4.28 per 1000 gallons.

There's a thread on the Seneca County Forum about water rates (Help me with my math) that states that Seneca Falls rate is a bit less than three the Benton rate, which would make it about $5 per thousand.

I looked up PY's rate, according to the web site, I (We) pay $8.18 per 1000 gallons! Why?

The Village of Penn Yan is way overstaffed, way overpaid, and and none of them are held accountable. Instead of downsizing, they always manage to create more positions. What new position are you talking about? We have a full-time Recreation Director (although why that warrants a full-time position is beyond my comprehension). Are they adding another position? Are they expanding Doyle's position? Is this a competitive job or taylor-made just for Doyle? Inquiring minds want to know.

But I do realize that it is difficult to lay off family members, best friend's kids and good old boys and girls. Don't want to disrupt the country club.

Fresh cold or hot and it's only $22.00 per month we use about 20 gal per month. Town/village water for dishes and laundry and sanitation issue .Fauset water isn't worth drinking. I also have 5 ea 55 gal collection tanks for yard/garden watering. I'm piping it to the toilet this summer. The money to pay for the water plant improvements is raised by the monthly customer charge of $7.51. By the way their is no state mandate for a village or town or county to have a water plant. Considering the above is an unsubstantiated accusation, I wouldn't condemn the all public employees yet.

And I am very knowledgable on the activity of the last 6-8 years as far as who knows how to rake the system from the inside out. My "condemnation" is for certain people who have been proven to do EXACTLY what they have been accused of. It's not always a theft of money.
