I can emphatically state that I've never took advantage of those that are mentally or physically challenged and why should I start now? It's so hard dealing with someone that appears...hard to state it but mentally delayed somewhat and I must be careful how I answer you but what did we have in place for health insurance before the ACA? the only difference today is the fact that Obama is attempting to add back to the system, the millions of individuals who lost their health insurance during the Bush created recession and not only that, allowing those with pre existing health issues to now have a company that will accept them. Either you're feigning ignorance (I'm praying that this is the case) or you're actually in a class of people that are marginally teachable or employable.

If they stayed in school they would have a education! Why should taxpayers pay the tab for people to lazy to go to school!

Well if you say that you stayed in school, explain yourself.

Rochester graduation rate is around 35% I'm suppose to feel sorry for people who drop out of school! To me anybody who drops out of school is automaticly ineligble for any government benefits! Watch the grad rate go up then!

hope the 'teachers' enjoyed their paid week off this week

one would think with a 35% graduation rate the 'teachers' would stay in school this week to help the kids improve

TIME OUT, a momentary pause, this is no laughing matter but, I actually feel sad for 2 individual here today, when you observe both crossing 6 topics in a matter of a half and hours but incapable of holding an intelligent and mature dialogue, there's a problem.

The real moment of concern for me was the fact that he took this topic 401 k versus state pension plan created by himself on 2/26/2016 and replied to me "today" maybe he's having a anniversary debate.

where you post only to yourself

public education has been on the ropes for many years and now you want to bring it to light - seems rather odd whistle

You see, Blu Rays, when individuals live in vapid poverty and crime-riddled homes....oh forget it, you wouldn't understand! Enjoy my tax money as you suck off the government's teats.

Or even, "AN" education for that matter.

But more importantly... why should taxpayers foot-the-bill for those those too lazy to PAY ATTENTION in school?

Union is failing our children!
From WHEC news 10 check them out for video and more information.

New Yorkers spend $58.8-billion on education. That's an average of over $19,500 per student. That's the highest in the country. Our teachers also earn the highest average salary in the country at over $75,000 and our class sizes are among the smallest at 12 students per teacher. It seems like we're putting our money in the right place.

News10NBC's Nikki Rudd asked, "Some would say why do you need more money?"
Monroe County School Board Association Executive Director Jody Siegle said, "Well there are a lot of things in New York that cost a lot."

Geoff Rosenberger is Rochester Prep Board Chair. He said, "We spend about $19,000 a student the national average is around $11,000 so if you look at our numbers, our outcomes are not 80-percent better than the rest of the country.

While New York does rank at the top for spending, achievement levels are not nearly as high. Fourth and eighth grade math proficiency ranks below the national average while fourth and eighth grade reading fares slightly better and New York's graduation rate ranks below the national average at just 33rd overall.

Whether it's the NAEP Performance Ranking, the Free Enterprise study which uses data from the College Board, ACT, and SAT, Wallet Hub which looks at math scores, reading scores, and dropout rates among other variables or the US News high school rankings. In each of these studies, New York doesn't even crack the top 10.

Last week, he continued the push to rein in public employee pensions, arguing that overgenerous defined-benefit plans are no longer feasible, and that a defined-contribution plan like a 401(k) is reasonable in these difficult times. In fact, he says he is willing to face a government shutdown if met with intransigence on the issue, which is part of his “Battle of Albany.”
Or consider Cuomo’s approach to reforming education. Early on, he sided with accountability-minded reformers, repeatedly stating that “New York is first in spending in education and 38th in results.” That was like fingernails on the chalkboard to defenders of the status quo, who simply advocate for more and more spending on the schools.
Cuomo kept it up. And when a two-year-old law to improve teacher evaluations resulted in a stalemate across the state, Cuomo demanded hard-nosed reform through the budget process.

Of course, now (under King Andy) the taxpayers are required to pay for coverage of live in same sex couples, married or not. Ironic isn't it.
