No, no! All costs will go down after dissolution. Just ask the voters. ALL services will be cheaper. ALL taxes will be lower. ALL services will be better. It is UTOPIA!

Our current 3 month Village of Dryden water bill is $35.84 for 7400 gal.

$71.29 for sewer. What would the equivalent SF bill be?

The rates for water were proposed to be be $47.5 a quarter and the sewer rate $76 per quarter. Those are base rates, use more than the base allowance and your cost will increase.

The following information can be found in the minutes from a Town Board meeting dated 12/6/2011.

Water & Sewer Rates: Mr. Condino stated the objective for the water and sewer rate was to come up with a single rate throughout the Town. Referring to water rate, he said the base residential rate in the Village was $38.00 a quarter, and 1 ½ times that outside the Village; that blended rate will be $47.50 for all residents. He noted that rate doesn’t need to be adjusted at this point. Referring to sewer rate, Mr. Condino said that rate is going to be 1.6 times the water rate; the blended rate for sewer is proposed to be $76.00 a quarter. He noted the rates have not been adjusted since 2003. Mr. Condino stated in putting the 2012 Budget together, the expenditures have been reallocated so that they better reflect the operation and supervision costs for the Water and Sewer Departments. In addition, there is the inclusion of another Operator at the Wastewater Treatment Plant which has been mandated by DEC consent order; it has been reported by the regulators that the plant has been understaffed for a number of years. The sewer budget is also projected to allow for some pool of reserves for major repairs and capital replacement. Mr. Condino recommended that the water and sewer budgets be reviewed annually. Discussion followed.

The skies thelimit in this area. Oh yes, those in the Bridgeport area will continue to pay for debt reduction on the sewer (something that should have been paid for 10 years ago estimated).

So the village neglected to devise a budget that reflected actual operating costs for years...the rates had not been adjusted since 2003? Brilliant. And it wasn't discovered until Dec. 2011... opened the curtain on Oz.

Screw the water dept anyways...there is a unknown leak somewhere between my sidewalk and my kitchen sink..UNDERGROUND...and if I don't repair it in 30 days OFF goes my water..water for a NYS Licensed Daycare...that leak has prob been there for years too..Codes said it has no effect on my daycare at all..the water dept looked at it and of course said it was on my side of the meter so I have to fix it...$2000..if they ONLY have to dig 8ft..any more the price goes UP!!!!!

What is the school doing to help? There may be nothing that can be done on the home front...ignorant kids often have ignorant parents...but the school certainly should be able to control what their ACTIONS if not their thoughts while on school property.

I really don't think you can do much, even at school to stop bullying by other ignorant kids. As long as peer pressure allows it, it's going to happen. Kids are going to be kids, you can't control them 100% of the time. Look at society, we're always at each others throats for the most part. Society as a whole needs to change, and that isn't happening any time soon. It's called character, and decency, there just isn't any of that anymore.

is your meter at the curb?
or in the basement?

can you abandon the leaking pipe and install a new line going to the sink without having to dig up the leaking one?

may save you the $2,000 cost

I guess the main problem is no one knows where the broken pipe is located...the town water man said he thought he heard it running in my driveway near the kitchen...but I have no big rig digging equipment to find out!!!
