How many weeks does it take for NY to send me a registration FFS!? I bought a new vehicle 3 weeks ago and only have a temporary registration still. When cops see me they pull me over. Get real. I hate the waterloo DMV and also I hate NYS and whoever else handles this stuff. They should pay those people commission not by the hour because these people suck at their jobs and don't care about how slow they go. If you gotta go there I feel sorry for you cause a DMV trip takes at least half a day counting all the running around they make you do! Why can't they just tell you everything you need right up front in english in stead of speaking in code! They charge you for everything you do, soon there will be a fee for farting in the hallway. DMV or not somebody needs to send me my registration for gods sake and start doing their jobs. DMV jobs that usually would take one normal person to complete actually takes two people for the state- one to do the job and the other to stand and watch and do nothing. I HATE you DMV!

Waterloo DMV is not responsible to send you the registration in the mail. That DMV is by far the best one I have ever been to. I am usually there less than 5 minutes.

Waterloo DMV is great, I have never had a problem with any of them and they have always been able to answer any questions have always been courteous and polite. Whoever you bought the new car from should have taken care of all of the leg work on registering that vehicle, the temporary registration should have been on the windshield when you picked up the car. I do believe it is Albany not Waterloo DMV that is holding it up.

Doesn't the registration get mailed to the dealer?

I actually have had good luck with the Waterloo DMV. I read this and perhaps I missed something but how is it their fault? The wait there is NOTHING compared to other counties.

Boy you got that right I waited for over 2 hours when I lost my wallet. You get a number when you enter here (Monroe County) that actually has the estimated wait time on it. It was wrong it said an hour and a half. Had to be 200 people there easy.

question answered by self. Go to the dealer if you have such a big problem ,not the DMV. Love people that answere their own stupid questions. Cops keep pulling you over ? Not the sticker maybe it`s the hoody that you are wearing?

Grow up, Get a life and MOVE out of state if you hate it so much. You are way overexaggerating just a bit, don't you think.

Have you thought of picking up the phone and calling to check on the status. Also, I kind of don't understand - if you bought the car 3 weeks ago - you should still have 7-10 days left on your temporary registration. I worked at two car dealerships in the past and registrations issued for car purchases were temporary 30 day regs.

And, finally exactly how many times have the cops pulled you over. They usually don't just sit there looking for bad registrations, most of the time you are pulled over for something else and then you're nabbed for an expired registration. So, what was it, were you speeding, drunk, road rage, ran a stop sign, hmmm???

Usually, the Regstration is sent to thedealer. I'd contact the dealer and see if they have received it yet.

???? The last 2 vehicles I have purchased from dealers I have gotten the temp registration from the dealer, but got the permanent from Albany in the mail within 5-10 business days.

Furthermore, I do ALL my DMV transactions online and if it's an absolute must I go to the DMV I download, fill out, and print all the required paperwork from the DMV website before even going.

Also you don't have to go to Waterloo DMV... you can go to any DMV office in NYS. Some are considerably less busy than others For instance, there is a new DMV office here in Syracuse that is located on the back side of a strip mall and not a lot of people know it's there because it can't be seen from the road.

I just went to Waterloo DMV to change a title into my name, and I was in and out pretty quickly I thought. I was even surprised how little time it did take.

If you think Seneca county is bad, go down to Westchester County and stand in line for hours to find out your paper work needs to be tweaked and be sent to the back of the line. 50-60 people on every line in any office you go into. If this don't suit you, go to The Bronx or Brooklyn.

Badger, why are you telling Ranger that? Seems like you should be addressing Thaymez.

When I first moved into NY State, I lived in Seneca County. I thought that the DMV was a breeze, compared to where I came from. I swear... I was in and out in 20 minutes to register my vehicle and get a new license. No big deal. Now that live in Cayuga county, the one in Auburn is no problem either. I might be waiting five minutes more... no big deal. Was this your first time to the DMV, Thaymez? Where I came from, it was much worse than anything I've seen in this state.
