Yea well, sorry about that. I decided to wait for a bit on this. Although info was true & on the internet, I don't want to leave myself open for a possible slander of the place.

Later on this.

If you just repeat what was already made widely public, without adding that the place is, say, skanky, or don't put any interpretation or spin on it of your own, and don't add to it by saying you know for a fact that it's true, then I don't see how it could be libel, by you, anyway. And, if it's TRUE, I don't think there would be libel on anyone's part, as long as it sticks to the facts, and doesn't injure the place by making a subjective negative characterization.

I'm curious. I've been watching the BB thing for 4-5 years, and it's definitely a worldwide problem.

And if you do go to jail, I'll bring you a cake with a file and saw blade in it. Scottie gave me the recipe...honest.

Thanks! I thought it would be about a motel, maybe.

Yuck! I'd have no qualms about buying used furniture, but I'd never buy a mattress, or anything upholstered.

Well, awhile back the motel by Tops had a problem as well. Read that online too.

I think I'm just gonna stay home, wrap myself in plastic, and not answer the door...I've heard that bedbugs will try to enter your house any way they can.

Sure you do not want to protect yourself in a 120 to 150 degree room. Heat kills them

Unfortunately, bed bugs can be in the nicest of hotels. It costs hotels large amounts of money when these pests invade. Exterminators come in and all top down comforters/bedding is usually discarded into the trash. The remaining bedding is washed at high temps. But, the thing is once they are discovered it is sometimes too late and may be traveling home with a guest that stayed in room. If you plan on staying away from home and sleeping in an unknown bed such as a hotel/bed & breakfast/cottage, the things to look for:

- Rust colored staining on mattress/boxspring
- Best place to look is between the bedframe and the headboard, that is where many of them will hide out and you would actually see them if you look there
- Not only mattresses/beds are infested with these pests, they will take up residency in dressers/nightstands and other furniture.

To be safe, I look every time I go someplace and I do it before I even bring any of my luggage into the room. Paranoid? NO, vigilant - yes. I don't need to bring any pesky guest back home with me.

Uhmnnn...no, but on a day like today I could definitely go for 90 degrees. We had some minutes of snow this AM, and later a touch of sleet, in Dryden. I'm at abt 1110 ft; Cayuga lake is 382, and figure 3 degrees change for every 1000 ft. of altitude. \:\)

Exactly, and cheap jet travel has been a prime contributor to making them a worldwide problem. When I say cheap, keep in mind that $16 in 1960 would buy what $100 will today, and it's cheaper, in constant $, than it was then.

That is exactly why I have no desire to travel and stay in strange hotels anymore. Yuck!

I would, except for the bed bugs...and the ankle bracelet...and the 138 12 cats, pinning me to the bed. I'm typing this with the toes of one foot, the other 4 members each having 3 cats on them. How am I doing?
