I would guess that they aren't refering about you. Lower Laker is ***, I'd tell you but I've been warned about revealing his identity. He is one of your neighbors who is contradicting what you are saying. He says the SFPD NEVER patrols your road.

I can assure you that I see the SFPD every day on my road... maybe I should keep a tally of who I see go by for a couple of days and post it?
Anyway, who am I supposed to call if there is a problem? If I call 911 will they all respond? A few years ago there were two related incidents in the neighborhood... one was handled by the state and one by the county and it appeared that they did not work together at all to solve the case. Is coordination between the depts getting better or worse?

When you call 911, the closest, available, department gets the call. So it may be any agency.

Huh? Seems crazy. If I call 911 in the town of sf, what if there is a trooper on my road? I want the closest cop. I don't care who it is. Should be a little more coordinated. Waterloo is a lot smaller and it is less likely but the new town of sf should do this. That is crazy and will probably cause someone to die before it changes.

Cwanky, Thanks for this info.
Based on my experience, then most officers must not follow this protocol. It seems that when I see 1 car at an incident, then I see at least one other car from another dept. There's not usually too much excitement and I bet they get lonely driving around, so who can blame them?
On the other hand, if it is true that if I call 911 that the dispatcher will be dispatching SFPD, then why should our tax dollars pay for the Sheriff, State Police and State Park Police to patrol my road? The only ones that should be patrolling are the ones that can respond.

this is so easy to document even I can do it all you got to do is listen in....... http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?ctid=1874

i am sure you know about this on line scanner in fact everyone should listen in. Th BS that law enforcement is saddled with sometimes is a darn joke. I am not talking just about SFPD I really feel bad for some of the men & women in law enforcement when they get called for a 7 year old out of control or some mommy dragging her child by the hand through a store because some do gooder with a cell phone just has to make that free 911 call.

yesterday I listened to a call out about some moron called into 911 and complained about a car "driving too fast going north bound" when the officer asked 911 for more details 911 center had to reply, (much to the dispatcher's dismay) that was all the info they had and the caller was no longer on the phone.

Look law enforcement people are no different than men & women who make pumps, build cars, pick up your trash, or teach your children except they are in the public eye 100%. They are doing their job which involves most of the time a ready made conflict that they have to control. Would you like to face that 8 - 12 hours a day every day and then get beat up for not handling the job to someones liking?

At the end of the day they are just people doing a job that most of us could never handle without going off the edge.

give em all a break it may be your life or property they save next

This is not about your position at the sfpd. This is about unnecessary spending of our tax dollars and duplication of services. We were forced to have your department and feel that we have the right to vote on it.

Go to a board meeting. Whining on the forums won`t do any good.

Not sure how you draw this conclusion, I do not work for the pd in fact i do not work at all but that is neither here or there....
i do support the men & women of the SFPD 100% and will do so at every opportunity.

WOW!!! I just figured since you want to do away with the SFPD that you wouldn't want them to respond. My Bad...
You should be ok though since you have Park Police, State Police and an Ex-sheriff living close by.

Cops on the Take

First he takes ... the oath.
Now look at all he takes:
He takes... it in stride when people call him pig.
He takes... time to stop and talk to children.
He takes... your verbal abuse while giving you a ticket you
really deserved.
He takes... on creeps you would be afraid to even look at. He takes... time away from his family to keep you safe.
He takes... your injured child to the hospital.
He takes... the graveyard shift without complaint because it's
his turn.
He takes... his life into his hands daily.
He takes... you home when your car breaks down.
He takes... time to explain why both your headlights have to
work.
He takes... the job no one else wants--telling you a loved one
has died.
He takes ... criminals to jail.
He takes... in sights that would make you cry.
Sometimes he cries too, but he takes it anyway because
someone has to.
If he is lucky, he takes retirement.
He takes... memories to bed each night that you couldn't bear
for even one day.
Sometimes, he takes a bullet.
And yes, occasionally he may take a free cup of coffee.
Then one day he pays for all he has taken, and God takes
him.
Please remember that the "he" in all this represents all
police officers, both men and women who have served and
are serving our cities and their citizens we have all sworn to
protect.

God bless ALL cops everywhere!

I find it hard to believe that no one has come up with what it will take to house all the new hires and all the new cars . I am sure it will take a nice new headquarters( quite large, by the way) with a very large parking lot. Let's see, I don't think Firemans field is big enough, so maybe Lotts Farm would work. My house is for sale, how about yours?

Ok so heres my question if their cars have over 50000 miles on them so they need to be replaced, why dont they just replace the engines as opposed to the whole car. I mean The frame and body surely have nothing to do with their ability to get from point a to b . Just the engines. So get a new engine swap em out. Why bu the whole new thing. And waterloo has had some of the same cars for over 10 years now. Why is seneca falls so special that they need new cars at 50000 miles.

Apparently you arent to familiar with cops around here and all they take. Ranging from free booze, to sexual favors from females in town and county owned vehicles. To vending machine, guns and drugs from evidence lock ups. And lets not forget free tires on the tax payer dime, gas and the list goes on and on. Aroun d here being a cop is like a license to steal. And this post shouldnt be edited or erased due to the fact that all the events listed above have been documented in the press and court proceedings over the past 5-6 years.

And to think that people wanted who you are describing, SCSD, to patrol the Town instead of the SFPD. My pick is and always be, SFPD....

Good post, potstirer. What back again described involved the Sheriff's Dept, not the SFPD.
Back again, if you are going to level accusations or bring up past court cases, at least get the name of the law enforcement agency involved correct ! BTW, the word "cop" usually refers to a Police Officer; so the correct word in your examples would have been "Deputy".....The court cases involved Deputies, not Cops.

Diversion tactic to keep the sfpd employed. Let the troopers take over the town then! The problem with this is that the sfpd will be unemployed cuz none of them are good enough to be troopers.
