Anyone have any recommendations for boarding dogs?

A friend is looking for a place, and I told her I would see if there are any new facilities that are recommended.

Creek Side Kennel in Walworth is wonderful. They even have heated floors. Each dog has a room with a dutch door so they can see out. They have a wonderful play area for the dogs and bring them on trail walks threw the woods. They are very careful about making sure every dogs has proper health records and if they have any special needs to be met. While on vacation I email them and they give me updates and some times even pictures. It is a drive but there is nothing better than knowing they take very good care of my four legged friends.I always think it is very important to go and check a kennel out before you board and make sure you are comfortable with how it is run.

REally? When did that happen and what makes the next poster imply that it would be best to find another kennel. If so, that is too bad.

My friend like the idea of Reigning Cats and Dogs. But we are both worried about the some on the comments.

Can someone PM me with the problems and concerns, if they don't want to post here?

That would be too bad, it was always such a nice place. Wonder what's up?

Riders Canine camp in Yates County. It is owned by an x sheriffs deputy who handled a police dog for years.

YES Riders is great. Have never left my dog for a stay but did take several for training. The facility is very nice and the owners are great. \:\)

It seems there is a subtle motive in creating this post to disparage the local kennels. (Disparage means to belittle or discredit for the ignorant readers of this post). Della makes a veiled jab at Reigning Dogs & Cats, and lets it linger like a bad odor. Why do people think that is is ok to come onto these forums and hide behind your made up names to spew your negative comments and run away?
I recently boarded my dog at Reigning Dogs & Cats and have nothing but compliments for their staff. They took pictures of my dog during the week and emailed them to me so that I wouldn't worry. They assured me when I called during the week that my dog was happy and playing in the yard. When I picked up my dog she was bathed, her bedding was clean, and she was healthy and happy. What more could I ask for? So when I see these veiled posts that pretty much indicate that somebody has an axe to grind, but won't come out with any facts, I feel compelled to write. I have nothing but compliments for Reigning Dogs & Cats. The kennel is run by two caring and compassionate ladies who love what they do, and they love the animals that they care for. Take it from me and many, many happy customers, your pet is in good hands with these ladies. The change of ownership of this kennel has been a very positive one. If you want the facts, call them or stop in to chat and take a tour. You will see what I am talking about.

Of anyone on this board I'd trust Della having known her to be honest and intelligent in her assessment...and totally in love with her own dogs and animals in general. Instead of disparaging her why not ask her why she implied what she implied in her post?

Here is a copy of the PM I sent all seeing eye as I said I would probably look elsewhere for MY pets if you were happy that's great. Perhaps once I hear more positive things my thoughts will change:

Loc: Seneca Falls I have just heard some negative feedback from people I know who have used it since it switched hands. I am not one for rumors or gossip I just haven't heard any good comments like you used to hear about the place. I wont repeat actual instances because I wasn't there to witness anything and think people should decide for themselves just was saying if it were me I would probably go with a more established place at this point in time.

I think maybe the best way is to contact the proper authority and see if there has been anything reported and go from there. Seneca County SPCA and Agriculture and Markets might be a good start.

I believe ANYONE who is boarding their beloved pet owes it to their pet to check out the place that will be taking care of them, first hand. Not just once but many times, at different times. If it is a reputable place, they shouldn't have an issue with it. Would you just drop your child off for daycare without completely researching it?

I am afraid I have to question your motives too.

Della has been posting for years on this board and I have never found her to be untruthful.

But I do question posts from people who have never posted before who join, use a made up name, make disparaging comments about one or more of us and never post again.

If you don't like "made up names" why did you use one? As a one-time poster, your comment would have worked better with your real name and without the attack, which is lingering like a bad odor, as it was unnecessary.
