How much would all that influence the world price of oil? May drive down refined gasoline by as much as 3 cents per gallon?

Shamus O'Bama has a lot of influence on the price of oil. With all the worthless money he has printed up, he's making our worthless dollars even more worthless!

That is a valid point to make because when more money is printed up, the spending power goes down. It's known as inflation. It is taking more dollars to buy the same things because the Federal Reserve has printed trillions of dollars in recent years. the economic "boom" in the 80's, under Reagan, was a result of the same thing. The government borrowed more money, it went into circulation, and people thought they were richer because they had more dollars in their pockets. Then the inflation caught up and we had the recession of the 90's.

Years ago, when the price of gold was starting to go up, I asked a friend if it was a result of the value of gold going up or the value of the dollar going down. Naturally, his cluelessness said it was the value of gold going up. to this day he still doesn't get it.

I agree. To our government, inflation equals bigger and better economy simply because more dollars are floating around.

They will get the paper money off the street by forcing us into becoming a cashless society. At that point nobody will really know how much money is out there or its true value. The whole world's "wealth" will be digits in a database while the bankers will own all the real assets.

No countries have gone cashless yet. It would be pretty hard to convince the majority of people to trust their wealth in the form of digits in a database. But, as with all things, they will take baby-steps until it gets implemented.

As it is, we almost live in a cashless society. We can swipe a card for any purchases. About the only things left that cash is predominantly used for are gambling, prostitution, and drugs. I wouldn't be surprised if it is that tidbit they use to justify going cashless.

Exactly! How can canceling leases on federal lands in Utah, suspending them in Montana, delaying them in Colorado and Utah, canceling lease sales off the Virginia coast, stopping offshore drilling, blocking ANWAR, and rejecting the Keystone Pipeline effect the retail price of gasoline?

So why were the gas prices higher under Pres. Bush?

The national average price of regular unleaded was $1.83 per gallon on the day Obama was inaugurated. Gas tonight was $4.14 a gallon. Of course that's after Obama's "hope and change" started to "fundamentally transform America".

Until you look at real problems, you will continue to be distracted by shiny objects while the rich get richer.
