I was wondering what people have to say about the Hotel Clarence. My boyfriend and I were thinking about going there but having never been there before I wanted to get some reviews. Like for instance How is the food/service? what kind of crowds do they get there? Thanks!

I have been there a couple of times for dinner and it was really good. Depending on the night it is not that crowded. Never stayed in a room but was given a tour and the rooms are nice. It is all purple, silver and black, very modern. In the lobby they have It's a Wonderful Life playing bit without the sound. Give it a try, it won't hurt.

I have heard that it is very good. They advertise heavily in Pa and attract a lot of their clientele that way. I hear about it at my weekend winery gig.

The food is good,, except the portions are small and over priced.. the hotel was put in for out of town business ppl.. so i would say everything there is over priced bc of the crowd they were aiming for.

We ate there one time a couple years ago and it was a very nice meal with different types of food you don't find around here. Definitely pricey at that time; however I was told that they have revamped their menu and prices since that time to cater more to us local folks but I don't know that for a fact.

Was there a couple weeks ago. Restaurant has a new name (again). Menu changed (again). It may be different now, but two weeks ago they had an upscale "Italian" menu with prices to match. Food was just OK.

I'll drive to Henry B's when I'm looking for good Italian.

Are the prices those unexplained numbers after the food items?

Those numbers may or may not be pricing, and the menu may or may not be the same as currently offered. It is from the Hotel Clarence website, to clarify the matter, you would have to ask the staff. There is a spot for feedback, send them an email.

The numbers ARE the prices, and (so far) the online menu has always matched the actual menu.

I've been there three or four times and it was pretty excellent each time. Certainly worth a try, if you ask me...

Went to a brunch there last week. The food was fantastic. All homemade, with the possible exception of the danish and the muffins. The front page of the Pennysaver says that beginning on 1/23 they will be open Monday-Saturday from 11:30 until 2:00 for lunch. They don't have a lunch menu posted yet. Maybe the lunch prices will seem more reasonable. I agree that the menu prices for dinner appear to be high.

I'm just wondering why anyone would go to a nice hotel/restaurant such as the Clarence and want a hamburger or chicken sandwich (???) Glad they got rid of that personally. I think thir menu items look delicious and they look pretty gourmet to be out of a box. I highly doubt their menu is from a box. Rumors...I tell ya!

Because when traveling sometimes you don't want to have a huge meal..only want something lite..they don't have anything lite it looks like. They use to have burgers, pulled pork sandwiches and chicken wings...and don't forget their to die for macaroni and cheese..

Jesus Mary and Joseph! $16 for a bowl of spaghetti!!??!!?? I'll stay home and eat my 23cent Ramen noodles sprinkled with garlic and Parmigiano Cheese! That sounds like the $18 Carraba's charges for their chicken parm that looks like it's made with a Cornish game hen breast instead of a chicken breast with a ice cream scoop of potatoes for a side.

Something NEW and DIFFERENT for Seneca Falls.... An Italian Restaurant \:\/
