School bus accident injures five in Addison

Five people were sent to the hospital Tuesday after two school buses collided in the Village of Addison.

One bus rear-ended the other bus after the first vehicle stopped suddenly for a car that was making a left turn on Tuscarora Street in the village

Both drivers were taken to BOCES for drug and alcohol testing, a standard procedure in such accidents, according to Addison Superintendent Joe DioGuardi.

Several ambulance companies were called to the scene, and five people were taken to Corning Hospital. Their names and conditions are not available. The Addison Police Department was also on-scene.

The total number of passengers on the two buses wasn't available, but DioGuardi said they ranged from preschoolers to high school seniors
