Anyone here use straight talk as a cell phone provider? I'm thinking of switching from Verizon to Straight Talk because they offer unlimited minutes and data for a smart phone for $45 a month. If you have no experiance w/ their service please don't reply.
I switched Brenda to ST about 8 months ago. When she was going thru chemo the unlimited text was needed. She got a Samsung with a slider keyboard. No trouble at all with porting her number over and the coverage in this area is excellent. We now use the $30. a month plan and you can keep track of the amount of talk/text you use. She makes very little use of the mobile web but the daughter uses her own to keep up with FB. She lives in Genoa and the coverage there is better than Verizon. Rumor has it they will be offering an Android based phone shortly. Very happy with it.

I will warn you that since you live in ovid there is an issue with the sim card straight talk phones out that way, in other words if you buy it from walmart good luck getting coverage after the depot.
Never bought one at Walmart, always online and never had a problem. Getting a new sim card is pretty straight forward and usually takes 1-2 days. I live in Ovid and never have a problem.

works great! Had some issues ordering online so i just picked up a phone and service card at walmart. I have a feeling that customer service may suck. Time will tell.
Daughter got new one for b-day gift for granddaughter at Walmart. Tried activating on line and could not. Would not accept a zip code. Called and was able to do it over the phone without a problem.

You can have it setup to be automaticaly deducted from an account or puchase a card or buy online every 30 days. Thay have had a deal where if you setup an auto-payment plan you can get the $45.00 dollar plan for $30.00 for the first year. Coverage in this area is great.

Paying the bill is easy and service is great. Unlimited everything for $45 a month and no contract. Works off of several different towers including Verizon's.
