The "Good Eats" with Alton Brown on the food network Thursday was all about making pumpkin pie. Alton said you can use half and half instead of milk. it was a great episode with 2 great recipes. Both recipes were made with fresh pumpkin puree not canned and the second was a pumpkin pie soup that was made IN the pumpkin.

Thanks. Have printed off the Joy of Cooking receipe. Also, I saw Alton Brown's pie show. He is so precise and scientific about his cooking. Such dry humor he has.
