I was wondering what local bands we have here in Geneva? Last I knew Group Therapy Broke up and so did The Heaters. Castle Street Band is going to be playing somewhere soon but other than that I dont think geneva has any bands. I see MUG SHOT and PULSATE playing all the time but its the same show everytime for the last 3 years. That auburn band SHORT BUS is playing in town this month again but where are the GENEVA BANDS!?

There is a local band called DILF from Gevena, Seneca Falls Area. They play Rock and Roll from the Beatles to Motley Crue. He also has a second band called Caged that plays Hard Metal like Godsmack, Korn, and Disturbed . There is a MySpace Page for both bands. I think on My Space, you can just search for DILFBAND and CAGEDNY

what is it that you think PULSATE plays same show for last 3 years ?...we've been together for almost 2 yrs now, and don't show any signs of breaking up. We have "staying power", meaning that we have played in ontario, seneca, cayuga counties, as far as madison county..doing just it takes to be one of the areas most popular bands...along w/ MUGSHOT ...

I have seen all of these bands as well, and can honestly say that, I haven't seen that they have a "routine". They are all fantastic. Each of them bring something a lil different to the table each time they play. JMO. I sure do miss some of my favs though...man, those were the days!! :)Drop kick jimmy RULED!!!

I am sorry, I didn;t say you are breaking up, Just its the same old thing everytime. I think that the problem is there is no outlet for the bands to play in Geneva. The Ramada, Red Brick and Sons of Italy are the only places around that seem to have music and the Red brick is now closed. It would be nice to see live music every weekend in Geneva with a choice of who to go see. Pulsate is Great the Drummer and Guitar player make the band. You could do a little better with vocals though.

The SONS OF ITALY is an excellent venue for bands BUT only choice dates have live music...Again, Thanks for the input

A good place to hear bands and most of them local, is wineries. Ventosa, Billsburo, and White Springs have music, sometimes weekly. Belhurst has bands every Saturday night at 7 in Stonecutters.

I've seen most of these local bands as well as others.
when they play the same places and the same songs, people tend to loose interest fast.

I don't think group therapy ever left geneva, exept for a couple stray places. .. who was going to drive ?
Janis was chilling in the beer cooler till morning.

Not so much a band but a solo artist, Samuel Ventura is my favorite. He's a really good pop/rock musician trying to make it big. He's got a CD out plus another one coming. Knew him growing up, he's a good person. \:D

my favorite band is somewhat local..they are called The Lost Sailors and they play out of Ithaca..they cover The Grateful Dead..the lead guitarist(and all the members for that matter)is amazingly talented..he plays as good as Jerry Garcia as anyone i have ever seen..check em out..www.lostsailors.com..if anyone is interested in seeing the national touring Dead cover band The Dark Star Orchestra, they are scheduled to play at The State Theater in downtown Ithaca this thursday nite..they are quite a show...they play the original setlists from various concerts the Dead played over the years..they only have about 5000 shows to choose from!!

Ramada Inn had Live After 5 during the summer months. Are they not doing them any more because summer is over or am I understanding they are not doing them at all even next summer?

I heard they would only have Live After 5 once, maybe twice a month in the summer instead of EVERY Friday.
