Yup. That's all there is to it.

Nope that is not all there is to it.
But
If you expect your kids to be stupid because they are poor, they probably will be.

What bothers me is how few vegetarian or vegan options there are. If my child followed my example (I wish she would, but she is an omnivore like her father), she'd be eating PB&J or salad every day. They even just started adding ground beef to mac & cheese! Kids aren't getting enough fruits and veggies and we all get too much fat and more protein than we need, so I wish we'd wake up and get past the meat+starch+veggie formula and start making vegetarian meals a frequent choice, such as vegetarian chili, whole grain mac and cheese, and veggie burgers.

Veggies, Fruits Fish/meat/poultry should be staples in that order

Starches particularly processed should be eliminated or avoided all together.

Somewhere in there with the desirable stuff I'd include nuts/seeds.

Makes no real diference what schools serve, if the kids are not taught how/what to eat at home.

Only for the kids in that moment, long term it will make a difference.

It's a video. They serve 5 course meals for preschoolers in order to expose them to different sauces, cheeses and vegetables.

Do they consider ketchup a vegetable or a sauce?

I'm pretty sure they don't count pizza sauce as a vegetable like the US does. \:D

If you have an issue what the school serves - then get up and make your kids a healthy breakfast and pack them a healthy lunch. Really??? At what point do parents get excused from teaching their kids ANYTHING? You can't learn good nutrition from your parents? Maybe "prepschool" should be for poor families so kids get a chance in life by living away from parents that are too lazy to teach kids lifes lessons. [sorry, I must be in a mood today.]

I don't have children, but if the US government is going to provide 2/3 of the food children eat in a day (especially in high poverty districts), healthy food could go a long way towards preventing obesity, diabetes, and other diet related diseases. Perhaps an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, possibly in later costs to Medicaid.

That's what I was getting at. Under Reagan, ketchup started being counted as a vegetable.

I got ya, but I think the US eliminated ketchup as a vegetable and added pizza sauce to the veggie list. Biiiiiig improvement! \:D
