I am connected to an Epson DX4800 printer which has functioned properly for many months. I printed several documents earlier today. I then found a message on the printer screen - "Cannot recognize ink cartridges". Clearly it had recognised them hitherto. None of the cartridges is empty. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried a system restore to a previous date when printer appeared to work?

Printers must be going on Strike. My HP refuses to notice it does indeed have paper in it. I've tried all of the suggestions on the HP site but eh..it still is being stubborn.
I had the same problem with my Epson. When I called Epson to see what the problem was, they said my cartridges must be too old and to try a new one. I had just purchased the cartridges from staples! Well, I put another one in and voila, worked fine. So much for buying cartridges when they are on sale.
The printer wanted more yellow ink, so I replaced that cartridge. Now it doesn't recognize any of the cartridges even though I only changed one. I only want to print with the black ink anyway, but this #%@!! printer won't print in black if one of the colors is empty. Any quick advice before I dropkick this unit out the back door.
Note: it has done this before and I tried everything I could think of and finally got it to work. I just don't remember what magic trick finally worked.
