This makes me laugh. I used to work in the hotel there years ago. People used to bring in alcohol or have valet go get them alcohol at what used to be a Nice N Easy, until they couldn't compete with SAVON because they didn't have the same law, regulations, pay taxes, etc.... (yeah, fair competition my butt). They never did anything about the excessive parties with college kids naked and passed out in the halls or having sex in them or the drugs being sold there or used by people. I reported it to the hotel manager and my supervisor and they said unless a guest complains, we aren't going to do anything. I remember one time when an employee complained about a strange odor in the storage closet. I went in and you could tell what it was. I contacted Turning Stone Security and the lead officer contacted Oneida Indian Nation Police and they showed up with two State Troopers who roamed the casino and hotel. Well, the Nation PD opened the backpack and it had a lot of pot. I am not talking about personal consumption, but a huge bag filled (for distribution). The hotel manager came in and told them that it was a guest of hotel and that nothing was to be done. The NYS Police had no jurisdiction. They can only make arrests on the gaming floor (their jurisdiction). So, I get called into the manager's office with my supervisor and I got ripped about calling security. He said that he didn't want it in the press, especially the Rochester one because they were giving Turning Stone a lot of bad press. Many times I would tell them about drug use in the hotel and they said, ok, thank you. That was it. I remember specific guests, some celebrities using drugs in their room, leaving vials by valet, guests doing drugs with their kids in another room connected to their suite (patio suite on the end of the old hotel), etc... Years later, one of those two did 18 months for cocaine possession, illegal weapons, etc... and his sister married Ray Halbritter. Hector Macho Camacho and his crew had drugs all over the room. So, with all of this going on, why would they take a serious stance against it now? Yeah, ask Halbritter about his son who was caught with drugs. Halbritter cares about lining his pocket with money, not taking care of his people and all of his employees. Vernon Downs just gave out more money, about $700K to $800K to our county and state, which is more than Ray's little silverarrow BS awards as long as you don't talk bad about us. Destito's, yeah, they get the contract for alcohol, hmmmmm, fishy, fishy. I can tell you a lot about this place, but I need to get going. Peace
